Best Cities in the World

Would you agree that, economically speaking, the so-called best cities in the world aren’t actually the best ones? The ones where tourists usually go aren’t the ones that people who would want to migrate even consider. The usual tourists destinations of the country are often too romanticized or glamorized that it doesn’t show the reality of living it.

Lack of personality, lack of community, too high living expenses, congestion and many other reasons. For example in New York. It’s beautiful and a target destination for many but the truth is that many complain about homelessness and lack of job opportunities. Are these the best representation of a country even if it’s usually built by lies?

Every city visited by many people offers beauty and progress, but there are always things that can surprise everyone. Behind the beauty, there are always other things that are not visible on the surface. and I think this is almost the same in all capital cities that are considered quite good and visited by many tourists.
However, there is one city in my country that is truly beautiful and visited by tourists from all over the world, and that city is indeed quite beautiful. Although it is not the best city in the world, there are several other cities where the cost of living is so low that it makes us think twice. that city is Yogyakarta. Usually, the more tourists visit a city, the higher the prices of goods there. but in Yogyakarta, I personally find that I can shop at cheaper prices compared to other cities that aren't even famous. and when it comes to homelessness, while there are some, most of them are actually from outside the city and not originally from there.

The "best cities" is almost entirely a construct constructed for people who visit, rather than visit people who stay. Which is a massive distinction that somehow never makes it in the rankings.

New York is the obvious one because the entire world uses it and it continues to be true. But there's this whole other layer of the city, that tourists structurally can't access.

I believe the problem is that "best city" rankings are optimized for visibility and global capital flow. They are not for whether somebody can build an actual life there with community, with space, with some reasonable sense of stability.

The cities that people actually live in and thrive in, and feel rooted in, and feel known in, they're almost never the famous ones.

It totally depends on a person's perspective, what they have in mind, the definition of best city. After reading OP's post, I felt like, for him, having lack of opportunities, or community, or high living costs, or homelessness might take you out of the best city list. But for others, it might not. To many, New York still might be the best dream city. But if you are looking for something else, for instance, say beauty, Venice, or Paris, or Rome might be the best cities. As for me, it's my hometown, it's the best there is.

What you consider best city to live in depends on what you are looking for and vary from person to person. For instance, if your plan is to look for job, then you will have to consider some cities in Canada where the take home is high than most places in the UK and the US. Australia, Sweden and New Zealand are also great places for someone looking for job. But for someone that already have money but looking for a place to spend it, the US, the UAE, Bahamas, Cairo, Rabat, Paris and some Caribbean countries are very nice destinations.

 

Yes, its true that we choose many cities for living according to our goals. Let suppose if some one hungry for a good job and opportunities than he should move towards Canada because it cities offers a high salary packages and well living standard. Along with Swedan, Australia and New Zealand also the best options for a good job and quality life standards. On the other hand if an individual have a wealth and success and wants luxurious lifestyle then he should move towards Paris , Cairo and some other cities because it offers rich culture and best experiences about history. The learning point is that the choice for living all and all depends on individuals mindset and needs and goals with different goals we should need different locations.

We can use any criteria to determine for ourself the best cities in the world, but as we may know before now, that some places are best known for relaxation and fun, while in some other condition, we may consider for some locations if we want to work and hustle up to make a living in a city, this will then narrow our search on what we want, if we are already made and wan to enjoy our money on luxury live or we are about to start the making process.

There are very few people who like any city other than their hometown.If you go now you will have to prepare yourself mentally and physically for a while to go to that city.If your personal and financial needs are being met in your city then you will never leave your city.Yes another city seems good because of its beauty or other things.And it would be a kind of foolishness that if you are living happily and properly in your city then never make the mistake of leaving your city because I have seen many cases where leaving your city leads to many difficulties so the city where you are living is the most beautiful.
