It's a pretty interesting design that balances security and portability. I'm more concerned about whether applications like cold wallets are too centralized. After all, a wallet can be used for decades, and if it can only be used with a dedicated application, it increases the risk of it becoming unusable in the future.

Usually cold wallets are backed up with standard BIP-39 seed phrase, which is not locked to a dedicated manufacturer or application, or even to that specific hardware device.

If the wallet is initialized in seedless mode, then there is no seed phrase to back up.

Tangem Ring based wallet can be initialized either without SEED phrase ^{i.e. in seedless mode} or with SEED phrase.

In seedless mode the backup is done using the Tangem Cards that come with the wallet.

If the wallet is initialized with SEED phrase, then it is still backed up by the Tangem Cards, but in this case you must also securely store your seed phrase, because it becomes an additional critical backup.

You ever heard about g00gle and other search engines? 
That is Tangem ring, and it's not something I would recommend using, since all their products are closed source.
I am not a fan of smart rings, but there is better alternative called Seedkeeper Ring that is made by Satochip:

Suggesting Seedkeeper Ring as an alternative toTangem Ring is like suggesting chalk as an alternative to cheese.

You are right.

The Seedkeeper Ring is a seedphrase backup solution. It's like the Tangem Backup card.

Currently, Satochip S.R.L. (the company) do not plan to sell "Signing device" in the Ring form factor even if we have expertise in this field - as we are selling the Seedkeeper Ring.
A Ring as a signing device is (imho) dangerous and do NOT bring any advantage over a smartcard.

You are correct, but I would never want to wear hardware wallet as a signing device ring on my finger, that is why I think Seedkeeper Ring is a better product.
Using Tangem Ring for blind signing of transactions is like playing Russian roulette, and trusting tangem not to leak something again in their mobile app.

I'm on your side in this matter, because any ring is very easy to lose. Besides, when it comes to wallets in ring format, they’re easy to spot for anyone who’s in the loop ^{and I believe crypto criminals are definitely in the loop}. So wearing  wallet ring could be potential threat to my safety. A card‑format wallet is much better, and I’m happy with my Tangem cards.
