Hey guys, it's taken a while to make this post, it might longer but important. The thread is the result of monitoring the scam accusations for a long time. I think a few points should be followed by users before creating a scam accusation. Those common problems I have found in the scam accusation board – I noted them all together and am posting them for you. We must need to be careful about our funds; we have to control them.
Reminding you of your responsibility to prevent scams before creating allegations. Most importantly, we aren't representing any platform over the forum. We can help you with advice, suggestions and help for the right approach. We aren't responsible for solving your issues. We have seen a few accusers blaming some of us for not solving issues. So remember, we as forum users are only helping you voluntarily; ignore them if someone contacts you personally for paid support – probably they are scammers.
The thread would help victims and non-victims as well.
For victims it's very important to follow the correct format for creating scam accusations; it's still valid. I will quote at the bottom by removing bold & colour codes; brand new users might be confused about writing details. Also added username options.
Here are some points you need to make sure of before creating a scam accusation thread:
1. Make sure you are clicking on an authentic source when clicking any links from Google search or ads. We won't help if you fall for such a scam. Forum users would only leave feedback or raise a flag against other forum users/forum representatives of a platform.
2. Be responsible; before choosing a platform to gamble or invest, try to know their reputation. The forum would help if the platform had any announcements here. But don't follow newbies' feedback; at least follow trusted members of the forum.
3. Make sure you haven't been depositing on a self-excluded account's address on the gambling platform. It's your mistake, and don't blame someone else.
4. Make sure you haven't cheated the platform; as a victim, you shouldn't turn into a cheater. Because platforms would defend themselves with solid evidence. So for the transparency, you shouldn't lie; if you are proven a liar or cheater, then most probably DT members would leave feedback or tag you if they think to do so.
5. If you are scammed by a casino or any other platform, first open a support ticket with them and talk to solve your issues. If it isn't solved by the support or they aren't responding there, then post here the support ID along with a screenshot.
6. Please try to make your post short; often people don't want to read too long a post. Just explain the real matter; no need to write it to look like an article. You aren't writing a news article, so focus only on the main story.
7. Make sure you have done your own research before using a platform. Because often people search about the platform upon getting scammed and then come here with an allegations thread. However, creating a thread here means you are helping other users since it's even visible to the Google search.
8. Don't repeat the same mistakes and come here with a new allegation thread. We aren't assigned to solve your problem every day; take a lesson from the past mistakes.
9. Please don't forget to mention your correct username on the questioned platform. Otherwise it's impossible to detect and solve your issues by the platform's representative. Posting by following the correct format is very important.
10. If you have any written contract with the questioned platform and it scammed you, then provide all the related documents to understand the story. For example, if you create an allegation thread regarding affiliate contracts, then provide all the necessary information, including the written or signed contract. Also make sure you aren't breaking others' privacy; you may hide some part of the contents.
11. Whatever the allegation, please provide valid evidence to prove your claim right. But try to make it short.
12. Anything launched to the forum doesn't mean it's trusted. Due to freedom of speech, anyone could write anything, and any crypto-related service would announce their platform on the forum. You have to do your own due diligence before choosing a platform. There is no way to blame Bitcointalk as a forum or forum users.
13. Make sure you have read the platform's terms and followed them. Don't just rely on what they are saying on social media. Like, they use the slogan for a non-KYC platform, but their terms include a KYC policy. It would be their marketing strategy under conditions.
14. Try to find the questioned platform's announcement thread; search relevant boards like the gambling or Altcoin section. Add that announcement link on the accusation thread. So it will be easy to find them and understand the story.
15. Upload the image/screenshot on
https://talkimg.com and post the link on the accusation thread.
16. Don't jump on a site at first sight. Don't be greedy; verify everything and do your own research. Don't fall for lucrative offers from new platforms, otherwise you may discover an exit scam soon.
17. Once an allegation is resolved by the platform, then mark your allegation thread as 'Solved' or 'Resolved' and lock your thread to avoid unnecessary discussion. So it will not cause any further confusion.
18. Don't send funds to strangers and blame it on the forum. It would be on Telegram, Twitter and forums as well.
19. Don't be a victim a second time; ignore if you receive a PM after making a scam accusation. Someone might ask for money at the end of the day to help you. In such a case just report to the moderator.
20. Try to use forum-trusted escrow service for any financial deals to avoid scamming.
21. Will add and keep updated with more content or advice if I find something new >>>>>>>>>>.
