While others would be focusing on the good side of it, I'll give some awful and at the same time some good reasons how it has affected us;

Without Bitcoin and the ability to earn outside Nigeria while living in Nigeria would have triggered us to vote right, hold our politicians accountable and and fix the country's economy from the mess we're currently in. We're nonchalant because crypto gave us freedom to continue to live.. our forefathers didn't have it this easy, their whole life was the country's economy and they did it right - everything we enjoy today, they built it.

That's why you're a leader, always thinking outside the box. Indeed Bitcoin innovation and other online earnings has really made majority of the youth in Nigerian forget their home and the root cause of their problem and  it very bad, let assume their was no possible way out just as Bitcoin innovation and other online hustle step out as a saviour to Nigerians youths, what would have been our fate by now? This are important questions we need to answer within our self.

I understand why it feels like empowerment, mostly in country like Nigeria where inflation and swings in currency strikes hard. With Bitcoin and Ethereum platforms, younger people are able to earn internationally, receive fast payments, and bypass certain banking limits. For freelancers just like your designer friend, that access across borders is a real advantage.

Haven said that crypto has not reduced poverty automatically. It made room for opportunities, but equally risky. Prices are volatile, frauds are common, and not everybody profits. It's just a tool, not a guarantee.

What I appreciate the most concerning crypto is financial access. It made way for remote work, payments globally, and alternative options for saving. When used wisely and also alongside other streams of income, then it can be powerful. But if used blindly, it can be very costly.

This has been a great opportunity for so many people, the world of cryptocurrency is wide and productive, and anybody who is aware of it existence and have knowledge about it, will love to swim in it. It is very obvious that most of the replies here are acknowledging the fact that the evolution of cryptocurrencies have really shaped the youth in a very good way I mean financially and mentally. Because in a country like this if there was no bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies  i’m sure a lot of us would have been frustrated due to lack of job or let me say limited jobs that isn’t proportional to the rate of graduates we have in the country.

And The most amazing thing is that the space is wide with different aspects not like its crowded. I mean it’s ranging from trading, airdrops, mining,and here in the forum signature campaigns. This current democracy started in 1999, before that the military ruled the country making it hard to an extent for the citizens to actually speak up but life was better even then compared to right now. Effectively around 10 years into democratic rule this country just turned around in the very worse way possible, it's was perfect before that but it got significantly worse after and till date it's almost like we still don't have a bearing on what we want, it's almost like we have gotten too comfortable with our current way of life and I think that's because we see ourselves with things that look like alternatives, Japan is one, going into the crypto space is another and also earning from social media and as much as we might want to avoid the topic because of how wrong it is internet fraud is also another for for what seems to be an unbelievable number or the younger generation.
Remove these alternatives and we will do whatever it takes to put credible and accountable leader in positions of power.

Without the existence of cryptocurrency a lot of people in this world have been broke, cryptocurrency has really reduced poverty rate to some extent, let’s take for instance in Nigeria a Lot of youth earn through crypto currency, and we now do business with any country and our financial transactions goes smoothly and very fast because of cryptocurrency. I have a friend in Nigeria who is a designer and he has a client from South Korea and when he those any job for him he pays through Bitcoin and everything has been going smoothly.

In Nigeria those that are investing on bitcoin are more save, because Nigeria economy is not stable at all and inflation is something that has been happening in Nigeria, but with Bitcoin it won’t affect you.

I will first state that crypto currency is good in the sense that it has a way of integrating everyone into being active and making returns periodically. Several youths currently now basically work from home because of digital economy and this has been very helpful in lifting such people out of poverty. Crypto currency is a wide area of digital economy and it's fast growing globally and Nigeria is also following the trend. Cryptocurrency is a big opportunity to many who has either taken trading as their sole source of income or who invest their money in order to save their money and run away from inflation that keeps happening in Nigeria. There are big names today that were only known in Nigeria because of crypto currency and we hear their names and we are glad and hoping to get more intentional about our cryptocurrency success. Yeah sure, crypto currency has changed the narrative of Nigerians and has forced many into trying to harness the wealth of the digital economy.

I don’t completely agree with you, it is the only place where Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies have gained massive adoption. While the reluctance of the young and people be put into Bitcoin growth to provide a means to earn money, how about other countries where Bitcoin also has a massive adoption while they are also not suffering the same political imprisonment as Nigerian.

To me, the popularity of Bitcoin and crypto at large only offers us an opportunity to look far beyond the limited opportunities we have in this country and seek for better things. You can’t blame anyone for that. In well-developed and working countries, crypto jobs are seen as side jobs because there is a working system not perfect but better than what we have here.

And the decline in the performance of young people and others in respect to voting right or not voting right can be as a result of doing something over and over again without getting a corresponding result for your effort. The time of our fathers and ancestors is better but not like the time of my father. The system has been corrupt long before the popularity of bitcoin in the country. Nobody wants to go to the farm every day to plant a crop which, at the end of the farm season, you can get even harvest to compensate you for your effort,

We pray for the country to be better. Once the voices and the votes of the people start counting, once there is a working system where abuse of power and intimidation is not their primary motive, coupled with selfish interests, with or without bitcoin being here, you will see people voting right. In fact, most people have at least voted right, but does it really count?
