Would you consider yourself tech-savvy? Some people might say that as bitcoin investors, we do not necessarily need to be particularly knowledgeable about technology
We don't have to be an expert, but we need to be able to use modern technology to a certain degree. For example, when buying bitcoin from an exchange, you would need basic digital literacy to navigate around the web/app interface. You should also learn how to transfer it to a secure non-custodial wallet. I don't consider myself to be tech-savvy, but I always try to learn and improve.

In a world driven by technological innovations and advancements, the importance of being tech savvy is no longer optional.Honestly you don't have to be highly tech savvy to own Bitcoin.Apparently, its not just about the technology,it also requires personal readiness, discipline and responsibility to navigate it's volatility strategically and effectively benefit from it.
Indeed, we are living in an era where the internet and technology have become an indispensable part of daily life. Therefore, having a basic understanding of technology is essential if we want to survive, regardless of whether we invest in bitcoin or not. From my observation, investing in Bitcoin is not actually that difficult or complicated. I have seen many people who are not tech savvy still manage to invest in bitcoin. So that is not a cause for concern when talking about bitcoin. You're right, to invest in Bitcoin, the most important things are courage, discipline, and responsibility. Because Bitcoin is a highly volatile asset, not everyone can tolerate such fluctuations.

I'm sure not everyone who invests in Bitcoin is a true tech expert. However, some investors in the Satoshi era were usually more experienced than most, allowing them to "know" Bitcoin before others. However, these days, you only need to learn a little about Bitcoin, non-custodial wallets, exchange sites, and how to secure your digital assets. I think that's enough for you to start investing in Bitcoin. However, you should still learn about market risks and money management if you want to trade. If you simply want to "own Bitcoin," I think what I've outlined above is enough to enable you to own and hold Bitcoin.

To answer your title, I say no, one doesn't have to be tech savvy to onw a Bitcoin. What the person needs is the money to buy Bitcoin. Now, it is a different topic if we discuss securing our BTC from hack and Bitcoin-malware risks.
To own Bitcoin, we just need to know how to generate an address to receive Bitcoin just basic technical knowledge. We do not need to complicate things to own Bitcoin, just have money to buy it from the market.
I mean the question is just "own" so basically it's definitely not required I agree with that. Crypto in general requires a lot more, like if you want to give a confirmation to connect to a web3 in order to be able to make some actions on a token based game on a sol chain type of thing then yeah maybe you might, still not a lot, it's just a few clicks and you just need to know not to accept a bad one, like some dust attack place, that would access to your wallet, but if you do a good one then yeah it's easy but a bit more tech related. To just "own bitcoin"? No, that's easy.

Yes, and I think that we are using both concepts as if they were interchangeable. Tech-savvy literally means "Proficient in the use of technology, especially computers". I don't think the term was coined with the average user of modern technology in mind. To own Bitcoin nowadays you just have to follow a few simple steps, and there are countless guides and tutorials that will guide you through the process. So please, let's not revile the term "savvy". We start by calling those who own Bitcoin that way and we will end up calling it the children who know how to upload videos to TikTok.

I think guys with deep pockets don't really need to be invested to know all the technical stuff about bitcoin because they have investment manager's that do all the heavy lifting and just advise their bosses on best assets are happening at the time and where they should be putting their money..
That tech savvy stuff is for everybody else that needs total control of their assets and to know how their portfolio is doing.

Well, it's important to be aware sometimes too but yeah I agree even if a normal person that's committed to trusting BTC, there's no need to be a tech savy. Sometimes you just need some signals before entering the market, it's enough if you just want to casually invest and hodl it for long term. There's no need to learn technical stuff if you're also using some CEX or just local exchanges as a storage for your money but of course, it's different if you really know how things work, it'll give more advantage to you as a holder and will give you more freedom.

One can have a full control of their asset even though they are not that tech savvy. All it needs is a basic knowledge about the control of wallet and security. We do not have to debug certain wallet in order to use them. Most wallets are ready to use with manuals and FAQ on how to use them. Even laying out security for these wallets is also set on the description and guide. I think what we need is ability to read and ability to understand basic instructions and logical thinking, and the most important of all, the funds, in order to own Bitcoin.

I think technical knowledge can definitely help people who are involved in cryptocurrency. When we start investing our money in something, it’s important to study and understand the processes behind it. Any knowledge is both a strength and an advantage. Study what you invest in. At the very least, it will help you enter and exit trades at the right time.
If you have the knowledge it's going to be an advantage to you but if you don't you don't also need to see it as something which should discourage your from investing. Some just pick interest after they invest in Bitcoin and learn every other thing which they are interested on, some learn the basis and consider the technical aspect as something hard as long as the knowledge the person have can serve them well with the purpose they have for bitcoin that should just be fine.

While technical knowledge is important, I believe the most important thing is to understand Bitcoin, including how it works, its potential, and its security. This will ensure Bitcoin's security, as you can gain knowledge over time as needed. Learning technical knowledge and other Bitcoin-related knowledge first will only waste your time owning Bitcoin, as Bitcoin's price fluctuates and increases over time. You should do this when you want to own it and learn both gradually to reap the benefits of both.

So long as you are educated and can operate a smart phone its enough to own bitcoin and it's essential to bring to light that owning bitcoin isn't mandatory to have such huge funds to own it in a whole. I read some ignorant one talk about why he has being procrastinating to buy bitcoin is because he wants to buy one full bitcoin because he thinks that's when he can make much profit whenever bitcoin price surges. But that's incorrect, you can start with owning bitcoin in sats, knowing the right procedure to buy and how to have it in self custody (the security of it).
