Have you ever gambled at 'out of place' place?

I only gamble in the toilet when I'm about to place my bet and need to use the toilet at the same time. However, I have a friend that whenever, he's gambling and isn't comfortable with the noise around, he sneaks to the toilet and gamble there. I remembered when we were still in high-school, the toilet use to be our gambling place.

As far as you are betting right, it doesn't matter where you want to be, just do the right thing and be comfortable with it. Though, there are some people that doesn't place a bet in a noisy place, as it doesn't make them to think straight in placing bets and this often makes or lead them into making mistakes which are done by poor calculation or timing. So people should follow gambling with caution and discipline, in order to avoid whatever thing that will lead them into becoming addicted.

My usual place when I am engaging in gambling is in front of my personal computer, since it is the device I usually use to gamble online.  I am not fond of gambling on mobile because the visuals are too small, and  I can't enjoy the detail of the interface.  So, for me to be "out of place" while engaging in online gambling is when I am using my mobile phone.

I never did that before on a treadmill before, but I believe we both know the gambling industry is a vast setting so there's no way we won't see a gambler on this forum who once place bet using his/her phone while on a treadmill after doing alot of analysis about the sports game at home and waiting for the right opportunity to present itself after several rounds of back testing.

Personally I haven't done that, the highest risky place I place a bet was in a moving elevator, I wasn't scared for my phone safety because I needed to take that bet at that time in other not to miss out, because sport booking sites have ways of taking off odds that grant gambler's some advantage at the point of the game, so for that reason I must take the bet and after done with the game analysis already, so taking bets in uncomfortable position is possible but with limited chances and selective games since not all games you can play in such positions and conditions.

So many people do that. I have also done it with my phone, but not while doing something else which requires me to focus on that thing, but like, if I'm outside, and I'm waiting somewhere, or maybe just sitting either waiting for someone or maybe I'm just spending some time out and I have my phone on me and I know I have either an app or a platform where I have some funds, so I may go ahead and play some bets, but not if I know that I'm busy with something else, because you will be distracted, and that's not normal or a good habit in general.

Some people even gamble when they are working, I can't even imagine doing something like that when I'm on duty unless I'm doing a job where I have a lot of free time that I can use, like a security guard doing a night duty and he knows he will get bored so he has to be doing something while on duty, so maybe he can play some games, but if you are working in an office, or you are at a position where you have to constantly focus on your job or work and you are still trying to find some time in between to place a few bets, then that's wrong.

It takes fast strategy and accurate analysis to place the bet when an immediate situation happens to keep the option of profit. I have never gambled at work or places that isn’t for relaxing before. Most of my gambling activities are done when I’m at home, once I’m outside the whole thought of gambling never comes to my mind except for when some certain activities happen that relates to gambling, but still it’s not enough to trigger that kind of cravings that makes me want to gamble.

I have never done that before and never felt tempted to actually want to do that. Being addicted to gambling is one attribute that makes people gamble in such manner, wherever they find themselves.

Once your gambling activity has started turning into something like this, it is most advisable that you should stop or give it a break. Prevention is better than cure, so it is important to actually not get addicted than getting addicted and fighting back to not get addicted again.

It is strange, and at the same time, funny, to hear about gamblers gambling while using a treadmill. I mean, how could you possibly gamble while using a treadmill? Wouldn't that disrupt one of the activities?

Personally, I have never gambled in an "out of place" location. As far as I can remember, I have only gambled in the restroom because I didn't want to miss the automatic spin on a slot game, and I don't think that disrupted my activities at all. Well, everyone is free to gamble wherever they like, as they have their own right to do so, but it is wise to do so without disrupting other activities. Therefore, if you want to gamble, it should be better to do so in a proper place (while relaxing), and preferably in a cool and comfortable place, because if you lose, your surroundings can be a bit of a help.

I read a post somewhere about how a tax driver was gambling with his phone while driving. One of the passengers confronted him, telling him that he was risking their lives. And it turned into a serious argument. A colleague in my place of work gambles in the restroom during work hours.  

This might be associated with gambling addiction when someone cannot control their gambling activities. Gambling needs concentration, that's why I prefer gambling in a comfortable environment. However, I have been tempted to check sports games while walking on a busy road.
  

If you want to define another act of irresponsibility, then it is purely gambling out of place, like what on earth will motivate someone to gamble in situations that can be considered very dangerous for instance, gambling while driving or during work hours. Why risk your life for an activity that can be done at any given time but that is what addiction causes, though.  When gambling starts to interfere with viable and mandatory daily responsibilities, then that’s surely a cry for help.

I do not understand what you mean by "out of place" place or "never at place" out of place, but thank goodness for the quote you included in this post, that indeed did an incredible job explaining or giving an idea what you are talking about..

Gambling was and or is supposed to be an activity we engage ourself in majorly when we are not busy with anything else, time like this is often referred to as leisure time, this is a time of the day when we are relaxed and have nothing important to do, this is often the time that one can gamble and definitely enjoy it..
It's only an addicted gambler that will be exercising on a treadmill and not be patient enough to return to their comfort zone before engaging their self in gambling again.

A treadmill is a machine that really our 100 percent focus when ever we are running on it, because missing a step or not keeping up to speed as a result of distraction can lead to a fall which could also lead to sustaining some serious injuries, so when on a treadmill, avoid gambling and focus, there is time for everything including gambling.

Perhaps you have never encountered someone gambling in those places, like at work, because those people who actually gambler in situations where they should not are very well at hiding it. Don't you think?

If I was gambling at work, I would of course try to hide it as much as possible, because it could be obviously translate into me getting fired.
There are companies which have next to zero tolerance on such activities on their workplaces.

This reminds me of some people from Nigeria who have commented here on the forum about taxi drivers who are addicted to gambling to play casino games while they drive.
It is not necessary to even mention how dangerous that is.

Me, I have never gambled while I'm doing other work, because it will either mess up what you're doing or you will gonna lose your money because you lost track of your betting.
Gambling while on a treadmill? I'm wondering if he's walking or running, lol, but that doesn't matter because I have seen worse.
In 2025 A man driving a public utility vehicle, or we call it Jeepney in the PH , is capable of carrying 20-30 passengers when seats are fully occupied, while playing slots. If you look at the video, he's obviously distracted and poses a huge risk, considering the number of lives he's carrying behind him.

I can call this "beyond" out of place. The man is from another dimension, lol!!

It is quite simple to understand that any gambler that doesn't gamble on his comfort zone are highly addicted to gambling because I don't see any reason why someone wouldn't make gambling easier for themselves. Of course I have never thought of making things difficult by myself because already losing is part of the game so I always try as much as possible to enjoy the game with only small amount that wouldn't affect me after the outcome doesn't work out for you and that is absolutely the right way to overcome frequent losses in gambling.

However, just like as you mentioned it will be very nice to prevent it on time than for you to get into problem that you wouldn't be able to solve.

Well I have not gambled on a treadmill before, and it's only a Gambling addict can do that. How on earth will someone gamble in a public place where they know that they don't need to spend time doing something that will affect the peace of others. Most times I see people gambling in their work place during working hours, and of course this will reduce productivity because you might be gambling and a work is given to you to attend and you might neglect it and be sacked for that. Gambling is meant to be done on a free time when you don't have much responsibility not when you are very occupied to work.

What I think is that I have never done gambling in an inappropriate place, for example, I was gathering with my family because because my family did not gamble so I did not do it. In addition, I think that gambling in inappropriate places is like gambling in the work environment, where we are supposed to be working but what we do is gambling using cellphones or laptops, even though the work has been completed before but it is still in the workplace and gambling is wrong, another example that I think of is gambling in a cemetery, which is clearly inappropriate.

You are absolutely right and this is exactly same thing I pointed out in my previous comment on this thread, gambling is supposed to be something or an activity we engage ourselves in only in our free times, and this is Because like any other activity, gambling also requires we pay it complete attention but when our attention is divided, we may end up harming ourself either on the other thing we are doing or on gambling by maybe making a betting mistake that will end us in losing our money..

Like for example, I had a friend who complained bitterly to me one day that he made a grievious mistake while wanting to play slot, he had an account balance of around $158 dollars and while he was trying to set the amount he wants to spend on each spin, instead of setting $1, he added two zeros at the end making it $100 and he didn't notice, and this happened because he was watching a very interesting movie and wanted to gamble at the same time, one spin and $100 was gone and the second spin couldn't go because his account balance became insufficient, this was when he realized his made a big mistake due to divided attention.

But I wouldn't call it an addiction all the time, many times people pick up their phones out of boredom or habit, not realizing that they are playing at the wrong time. But it is true that if someone does this repeatedly then it is getting out of control, I think that if you want to gamble, you should give it a separate time, like watching a movie. Then your head will be fresh and you can enjoy it, Another thing is true where there is a safety issue for yourself or others, there should be no place for any kind of game or betting. This applies not only to gambling but to anything.
