Let’s be real for a second..The market can be a massive pain in the ass. There is a specific kind of mental exhaustion that comes from watching Bitcoin dance at a price significantly lower than where you bought in. It’s not just the loss of money it’s the loss of time. When weeks turn into months, and months turn into a year of underwater prices.. many peoples narrative starts to shift from I’m a bitcoin investor   to Did I just make a huge mistake?lol..

We see people talk about HODL like it’s a badge of honor, but they don't tells you how heavy those hands feel when price goes down. Most investors can handle a quick crash. What they can’t handle is a price that refuses to move. Seeing your capital less than what you had invested and be relaxed, while the world tells you to hold, takes a level of psychological grit that 95% of people simply don't possess.

The feeling of regret is almost inevitable. You look back at the market from last year and it looks so obvious. You begin to tell you self, If I had just sold at the peak, I’d be sitting on a lot of profits,  I couldd have bought back in now and doubled my stack.lol but who would have known?Nobody can fully predict the market. Last year, the momentum was so strong it made everyone believe the Up Only trend was not coming to an end soon. We got blinded by the green candles...

The painful correction, the boring, frustrating phase where the price stays low and the regret of I wish i had sold.. If you’re feeling like you made a mistake of not selling because the conditions are unfavorablle, you’re likely just experiencing the exhaustion phase of the cycle. Everyone does. No one is actually happy right now that bitcoin price seems not to be returning to the upside soon. But history shows that the market doesn't care about our if I had only known stories.. It only rewards the few who have the courage to stay the course when the pain in the ass factor is at its peak..

Good write up but no good information in it, to be fair!!!

From the title; will love to ask, Do you regret having money?

Shall we forget the fact that bitcoin is money? But in a digital form with a maximum number of 21 million.

Are people actually regretting having it yet don’t sell at the peak? A very few will and of course everyone also knows that bitcoin has up moments and down moments, it’s not in a stable flow. So the mindset that people would regret simply shows that you may not have held bitcoin even till now because if you have ever been in a cycle you will understand bitcoin mechanisms.

Do you regret investing in bitcoin?

So far, i haven't regretted anything, but I can tell you that whole decline/correction in price is just too boring.
The truth is, there is literally nothing to get angry about, because that anger won't cause a change. It's just like a situation where someone's opinion doesn't really matter no matter how they feel.

For those who probably are in regrets by now, there might be more regrets if they end up selling at this very point. Being optimistic at this point is never a choice. All eyes/focus on better days ahead.

Knowledge before investing in Bitcoin makes it easier for someone long term investment journey not to be filled with regret towards Bitcoin because already the person has had the knowledge of Bitcoin and they understand how it works, that there are times like bearish and bull run markets when someone buys and sells Bitcoin for profit.

Knowing all these stated above about the market, will help in the aspect of someone not beginning to feel regret each time the market is red, they will see that as an opportunity to buy at a low price, not to sell at a loss, thinking Bitcoin wouldn't skyrocket as it has.

That being said, all these regrets we see people have on Bitcoin start when someone is investing with high expectations in mind for Bitcoin to increase within short term frame, giving them a huge profits.

For you who might have actually accumulated more bitcoin and expecting ups and profit for your investment it would be boring but for investors seeking for discounts price to invest into bitcoin then they would actually be finding this more interesting. This is actually the bear market and for me if you’re not actually buying or accumulating probably because you’re done accumulating the best thing is to look away from it. If you continue to follow the price action then there will be disappointments and this what most newbies experience there first bear market actually do and create unnecessary fear within themselves.

The only time you regret investing into bitcoin is when you have invested that amount of money which you cannot afford to lose and then bearish trend sets in and you’re forced to sell in loss

In actual sense their is no point getting worried over a spilt milk talk more of bitcoin investment plan that has every hope and assurance of a better days ahead, what's going on (the up and down in the market isn't new) today in the market thread is normal and I see it as a way of tasting our patients and preparing us ahead of time, so probably I think it isn't a big deal and I see no reason for we to start panicking.

I think things are just happening the normal way it surpose to be and that's no call for alarm, therefore at this point my little advise is for we not to be move by the current storm perhaps this are just possible sign of showing how loaded the future is.

I will consider what you are saying a common thing because in every business or any kind of investment once your investment is not doing well for a certain period of time you will definitely feel some kind of discomfort but Bitcoin is a long term investment and we already know about the volatility before we venture into it and so it should not be discomforting for us simply because the price or our investment is not going in the direction we expect it to go that is if we are using are our discretionary income. If you are actually using your discretionary income to accumulate Bitcoin you won't be feeling this terrified because it is something we can really afford to let go in that period of time. Why do I feel you are indirectly panicking lol 🤣.

If they can, let them still looking at the depreciated value of their investment. This is why I kinda love the fact that I cannot see the dollar value of my holdings. It keeps me sane. Anyone who have been through the cycles and understands Bitcoin wouldn't get to the extent of having that serious mentality shift, but we're all humans and can show signs of weakness even from positions of knowledge.

HODLing is really a badge of honor, remember honor comes from achieving something great and the processes of it's attainment are far from appealing. In HODLing you'll have to navigate through the emotional tensions of the bear markets and never yield to selling prematurely until you get your desired results from long-term holding. So it's one in Bitcoin investment.

Let us be more realistic here. An investor that feels this way is an investor that dont know about what they are investing in. Study Bitcoin, the past and present performance, and you will understand that it is like every other investment you will make in this life. When the market bubbles, the price inreases and when there are troubles in the market, the price decreases. However, the knowledge of Bitcoin is what will help you maintain consistency, considering the fact that Bitcoin is an asset that gives profit over time. It has proven this several times, so why should I regret having such an asset? Now you answer.

Everyone that invested in bitcoin knew exactly what they signed up for, the market cannot always be stable because it's volatile. Even with what's happening currently i still don't regret investing in bitcoin because I have benefitted from it previously and I still believe that it has a lot of potentials to be the highest currency in the future. If you understand what the crypto market is all about you won't have any regret.

Honestly, only those who invest and pass through this kind of situation can truly realize it. Those who have never gone through such moments will always talk in different ways and that is normal. But the hardest moment is when you see the value of your capital going below what you invested. Even though there is nothing you can really do at that time, you have no option except to hold on with strong mental control and be patient. For about 95% of people, keeping this level of mental strength is very difficult, mainly because they do not have a large amount of money.

Last year when the market was at its peak, the tone of everyone’s comments was quite different. From the way they spoke and reacted, it felt like Bitcoin had already reached a high point and was moving straight towards making a new all-time high very soon. In reality, those who still held on even after seeing the highest price, hoping for something better, are now going through a critical situation while holding their bitcoin. On the other hand, those who sold at that time are currently in a good profit based on the present price. However, those who moved forward back then while keeping the possibility of a dump in mind seem to be handling this critical situation quite well.

There is no doubt that the market will go to the top at some point but the kind of regret people are feeling while passing through this tough situation clearly shows that the market does not think about investors emotions. Still, the ones who get rewarded usually have a very high level of patience and we can understand that now, but reaching that level is very hard, especially for small investors like me. For those who are still in this bad situation, I just hope their good time will come, they should wait with a little more patience for a better market because for now, there is really nothing else to say to them.

Good write up but no good information in it, to be fair!!!
It's not a post to pass information, it's a post to talk about psychology. We often pretend that we don't experience these psychological issues in our bitcoin investment, but majority does.

Do you regret investing in bitcoin?

The truth is, there is literally nothing to get angry about, because that anger won't cause a change. It's just like a situation where someone's opinion doesn't really matter no matter how they feel.
Definitely that boring hits the most. We know price would continue to the up side, the question is when. Which nobody knows. And ps, the current rift between Israel and the US might have some impact on price...

If that happens, we will see how many investors react as price moves even lower than it has already..

This kind of regrets usually comes in when you are chronically involved in trading for quick profit, you just want to get rich quick in bitcoin, you think it’s some kind of a get rich quick scheme. When an investor is over clouded by short term gains then this sort of regret will surely abound. Although it’s kind of a pain in the adds when you buy in a particular price and instead of the price to increase, it’s going down almost every day. This is the more reason why  it’s important to treat bitcoin as a long term investment and buy according to your discretionary income especially after you might have sorted out your basic financial obligations at home.

@OP, after reading everything you have written, what captured my attention was just this statement. It's true that a lot of people do not have the psychological ability to stand seeing Bitcoin price fall below the price that they have bought it, even if they believed that they could hold till the next bull cycle, during the bear market when they see the long duration of time it takes for price to stay below their purchased price and instead of price going up it is dips more and they get tired of waiting and hoping for market to start printing profit.

Actually, there is more to it which I'm going to explain here, it's not just about the psychological ability to hold and keep holding even when the market continues to dip for 8-12 months. Before now, I always say that when someone have the right knowledge of investing on Bitcoin that they are going to hold their Bitcoin irrespective of any market situation that they encounter and it also doesn't matter how long the bear cycle last but with the right knowledge, the person will also find the motivation to hold until bear cycle is over. However, that was not also the only case here, there more to it.

Have you seen people that have multiple source of income or people that has a large well of income, have you seen how they respond to their investment? Whether it's going good or bad, they tend to have an optimistic feeling, zero fear and finds consolation in the other sources of their income.

I always like to watch billionaires giving speech about investment and wealth, and from the difference speech of wealthy people that I have watched on TV and also the post of some Bitcoin holders (that I consider rich) on this forum have one thing in common, in the statement this one thing is not always missing and that thing is "Income size and multiple sources of income."

I will give an example of a statement from one member on the forum, it says, "even if I sell my Bitcoin, I don't have any need for the money. " I can not remember every detail of that post but I just quote the little I could remember but that statement gave the idea that this person that doesn't want to sell their Bitcoin in a bull market has a large sources of income and they don't even flinch an eye when the market dips. The statement gave the idea that this person is not in a hurry to sell their Bitcoin, the statement gave the idea that the person already have sufficient money such that their Bitcoin is not even what they want to sell in a couple of years from that time.

From other wealthy people too, they would say, "have multiple source of income" That means when you have multiple sources, you won't feel too much pressure of bear cycle.

If you had $100k and then you have invested $90k into Bitcoin and that's your only investment, you don't have another investment apart from your monthly income of $1k per month from your job, won't you be so bothered  when Bitcoin price go from $90k that you bought it to $55k?  But assuming someone has investment on gold, different stocks, real estate and have some millions of dollars properties and still has his private company and also have about $1m Fiat in bank account, do you think this person would be bother about bear market like you?

So, in conclusion, having the right knowledge of Bitcoin, having or creating a large source of income for yourself will help you keep off your eye from Bitcoin price dip and you won't feel regret for investing in Bitcoin.

It is most important to keep ourselves in control by investing in Bitcoin, when we buy Bitcoin we buy it to prove ourselves as investors. There are some people who buy Bitcoin with the plan to hold it for a long time but when the market starts to come down, they get tired and disappointed. They make different decisions from time to time. I have heard many people say that when the price of Bitcoin was high, they held it without selling and now they regret it, which I think is impatient. Basically, when investing in Bitcoin, you must watch every step and have confidence in yourself and believe that it will not go to zero while holding Bitcoin. If you can hold Bitcoin for the future, then it is definitely possible to be rewarded, but we have to hold it. The volatility in the market will decrease, it may decrease more than your own control, so you cannot be disappointed, but you have to have confidence in yourself. I think those who can control themselves and invest in Bitcoin, they are not attracted to that money for years, they are the only ones who can be rewarded.

I don't see any reasons of regretting investing in Bitcoin because it was very obvious within the forum were so many investors has been discussing the power of investing what can afford to lose and which is your discretionary income, and from your newbie stages you should be able to the right strategy to follow and which is investing with your discretionary income using DCA strategy that allows you to be buying Bitcoin small small consistently depending on how and when you have my discretionary income available with you, so if you should ask me if I'm regretting investing in Bitcoin, i will said know because i have been using DCA strategy from my day of investing and these your question should be channel to those gamblers that their knowledge is basically on monitory market price and that have invested lump sum strategy all in the name of trading within a short period of time, i believe those categories of investors should be the regretting investing in Bitcoin right now because bull market is no were around the market for now.

So far I haven't regretted anything in Bitcoin investment but you are right that corrections are annoying, many of our locals are retail investors, so the current drought/correction in the market can be a huge pain in the market. Moreover, we always say that the market never has a stable flow so the feeling of regret for these ups and downs is almost useless but it is also true that most investors cannot tolerate sharp declines. Since it is dependent on the free market demand and supply, the price of this Bitcoin can emerge in a huge recession in a moment, as is currently seen before the war between Iran and America. In this situation, those who still regret it thinking "I wish I had sold" are still impatient and do not understand the processes of Bitcoin because after touching $126k last year, the market may correct and many experts including us are calling it crypto winter.

It's a norm for most new investors to feel this way because they just started investing. Another set of people that will fall into this category are traders. However, a long-term bitcoin investor with the mindset of accumulating bitcoin for his future and has experience the bear market in 2022 wouldn't feel that the bear market is a pain on the ass just like what you mentioned in the OP. I'm not regretting that we are in the bear market and what the current price of bitcoin is
