It was a surprise to many bitcoiners that have concluded that the bearish season is here when the price of bitcoin decrease to $68k few days ago, not knowing that the price of bitcoin will still increase to reach $73k, is no longer a new thing that whenever the bitcoin price is increasing other altcoins will be increasing to make both long term and short term investors to get ready to take a favourable decision, I was opportun to visit the altcoins market this evening and I discover many altcoins has tun to green light, which is a good sign altcoin investors like to see in the market to get prepared for favourable market ahead.
I think everything about the crypto market has really changed and it's not time for us to think that we would be experiencing the 4 years bull and 4 years bear market again. If any of us are not informed, I think we need to read books and source for news online about what's happening in the crypto market currently and why some people are panicked.
I definitely agree about the significant changes that have penetrated into the bitcoin bear and bull market seasons which I think a lot of crypto enthusiasts are yet to comprehend the structural shifts and developments. I think it all started with the ETF approvals and then institutional infiltrations into the market and with all the cryptocurrency regulations wave. It has affected a lot in the market's historical patterns.

Can anyone deny that we have a small alt season?
Small alt season you say Huh
Do you really understand what it meant by alt season?
How many altcoins have been able to outperform bitcoin despite the fall in the price of bitcoin. Let us take from 2025 till now can you name how many of those altcoins.
As far as i know, since 2025 till now bitcoin has maintained its dominance in the market and the few altcoins that managed to outperform bitcoin is less than 20 of them from the top 100 cryptocurrency, will you call that an alt season Huh

If you find at least two or three coins that can generate more profit than Bitcoin, even in a short period of time, you'll win. I found one coin: TAO Bittensor.

So after making profits from TAO Bittensor what else do you do? take profits and look for another coin that will generate more profits than bitcoin right? you have a shallow reasoning if you are only interested in short term profits it means that you are likely to lose your money because if you are lucky to make profit from one altcoin, you may not be lucky with the next one that you think that it will produce higher profits than bitcoin in the short term. You see the reason why bitcoin is superior, you can make profits from bitcoin and buy back when the price falls and still have the privilege to make more profits from it when the price increases again but an altcoin can pump then dump and never pump back again.

Based on what you have said which is abundantly correct, are you of the opinion thy there will be altcoins season this year or such will not happen? In my opinion, until we have a clear direction of where Bitcoin is going, it will not be right to expect altcoin season because altcoins cannot surge when Bitcoin has diminished by over 40%. The market may end up in a range for the most of this year and if anything serious will happen, that will be in the fourth quarter of the year.

We have seen that for past few days Bitcoin price is going up and as a result price of Ethereum, XRP and other top alts are also going up. This is just a small indication that why its important for alts that price of Bitcoin must also go up. The price of alts are very much linked with Bitcoin and its very hard rather impossible for alts to go up when Bitcoin is down. Bitcoin price has increased a bit but we will clear impact on alts if price goes up to 100k. If current war is over soon then there are chances that price of Bitcoin may go further high.

Let not make the mistake of taking a short term temporary market behaviour to mean the whole market cycle conclusion, this is not right and in most cases you may end up losing out when the real altcoins season happens unprepared for, so for a good concluding discussion we can still hold some few good altcoins that have great potential to ride with the next market wave when it happens.

If it happens, it will be in the fourth quarter. Whether we are close or far from an altcoin season is difficult to predict. What I don't understand is whether we experienced an altcoin season in the last cycle, or if there will be one this time, because I understand that altcoins remained stagnant while Bitcoin peaked. Only some altcoins experienced increases in certain months, and these didn't last long.

Please note that this is not investment advice. Altcoins are highly volatile, and you could lose some of your capital. Research the proposed projects carefully first. DYOR, please.
I think this should have even come in the op and not a comment down here, however the only reason why this coins might be able to do well is because they are hanging on the effect of bitcoin, if bitcoin makes a slight move towards the negative side, it will crash the whole if altcoins, some sudden moves that bitcoin has held down is the r ask  why the analysis seems to look like altcoins are doing well but they aren't in anyways, in my opinion they are just hanging on too, but for me there is no altseason in 2026.

I think everything about the crypto market has really changed and it's not the time for us to think that we would be experiencing the 4 years bull and 4 years bear market again. If any of us are not informed, I think we need to read books and source for news online about what's happening in the crypto market currently and why some people are panicked.
The cryptocurrency cycles have changed and short term market volitilities is prevelent this days, we shouldn't get carried with whatever mainstream news and influence the war may be speculated to have so far, but yeah the market price most especially bitcoin, solana and BNB have gone up strongly this week which is the 28th days of the war instead decline price the market recover back to $73k+ today.
I agree, just because we have some wars going on, that should not be impacting the price and in most cases it doesn't as well. Surely there are moments where short term changes happen like for a day or two, or even a week. But at the long term we are not going to see this matter all that long.

So do not consider this as something that would be all that complicated, we can make this work one way or another. So focus on the fact that there is an overall historical pattern that happens no matter what else happens and you can focus on just that and get a lot better return.

Being specific is impossible with crypto speculation so I agreed with you that alt season will come when it will but not just yet and if I must predict then I will say we shouldn't expect alts season this year 2026 may be next year ok but this year seems I bit out of hand for altcoins and even bitcoin to do that extremely high bull market season, I beliythis year should be a good buying year and waiting for the next big market shift to come in near time but not 2026.

I was not even expecting an altcoin season again in this cycle and expecting it to come after the next bull run we will be witnessing in the next four years, but since it does happen after bull run, I mean post-bull run, then we should wait to see how things turns out to be from this year to next year. The altcoin season was gaining hypes sometimes back but since Bitcoin didn’t survive the dip and speculative market, then the altcoin market doesn’t have a chance at all also. Anything can happen though, let’s wait to see how the market react later.
