Both legendary and new innovators are leaving the community. The FD incident revealed significant challenges faced by creators. While the forum claims that BTC is an open space it raises questions about why innovators cannot set their own creative direction, quality standards, and pricing. Additionally some members publicly point out makers mistakes instead of addressing them privately. Its much simpler to recognize the positive contributions. We should consider how many creators have left due to the toxic behavior. Historically artists like Van Gogh and Monet faced opposition but their works are now highly valued. If this toxic environment persists discussions might be limited to debates about who has the most impressive collections. What factors contribute to the decline of innovators participation and which strategies could effectively support their continued engagement? FYI dont deflect the topic with AI nonsense.

Other thread got locked, so leaving my 2 sats post here.

I have purchased many F*D items, am an avid collector of their old/original items, and started to buy the newer releases recently. I have stopped buying F*D items because of issues like these in this thread and because of the high volume poor quality releases. It simply was not worth my time or money anymore. Others may not feel this way, but many do. They should be free to express their opinion regarding each release, just as people are free to express their praise.

I am much newer to this collectible space so I know my words may not carry much weight but I hope my comments can be taken purely as constructive.

I've been lucky enough to snag some older F*D coins in a few auctions here and they are beautiful. I also bought some of their newer pieces too, such as the 2025 Precision struck series, which I also think are all well done and look great. I get the need for some higher minted sets, to help get them into more people's hands. However I do agree that a majority of the laser engraved coins leave more to be desired and I just can't bring myself to purchase a majority of them, not due to the low mintage amount (which we all usually love) but more because of their looks. They just feel rushed, both the designs and the engraving execution, which is disappointing because I was very excited when Finite said they were doing silver coins again.

I'm not leaving this as a bashing negative comment but just honest feedback, in hopes that it'll benefit both Finite and all of us as collectors, in the future.

I very much appreciate this kind of feedback and I thank you for taking the time to write it thoughtfully.

It means a lot that you’ve collected both older pieces and newer releases, and that you’re willing to share an honest perspective.

Laser engraving in general is a new venture for me. Acquiring the fiber laser opened up creative and production possibilities that I didn’t previously have in-house, but it has also come with a learning curve, especially when working with silver. Dialing in power, depth, contrast, and finish on precious metal requires refinement, and that’s something I’m actively improving with each run.

Some pieces have come out exactly as intended. Others have highlighted where adjustments were needed. That’s part of developing a new medium seriously rather than treating it casually.

As for design elements, we all have our own preferences. Not every direction will resonate with every collector, and that’s completely fair. Craftsmanship, however, is not subjective and I’m committed to continuing to raise that bar.

Again, I appreciate the constructive tone. Feedback like this helps far more than hostility ever could.

I think this thread could help in determining respectable boundaries concerning sales threads and makers' releases. It's important to be able to voice concerns and praise, but it's also important to keep sales threads on topic, directed towards sales, while avoiding attacks on the OP’s reputation or products without evidence.

I'll give an example:

Talking about scams on a maker's sales thread should be considered a big NO-NO. Out of respect for the maker and the community, such comments should be left far away, considering that the topic is a sales thread. Otherwise, you tempt trolls to come in and do the very same thing to your sales/auction threads. The only exception to this common-sense “rule” is if a scam is evident; then it's a member's responsibility to speak up. EVIDENCE needs to be provided. Blanket statements, accusations, and insults should be removed, frowned upon, and even ridiculed.

It's very disrespectful to come into a sales thread notice a error in a hologram announce it and then allow a debacle to take place surrounding the legitimacy of a Maker and his generated keys. Maintaining silence vs speaking out against such an accusation is really telling. Don't tear others down to “protect” others. Protect others without hurting those who are not deserving.

@OP  you're just that idiot that argues to argue.  MrCryptohodlmynuts is a thief and a scammer, FULL STOP!  You support a known scammer!  This makes you an idiot!  It's really that cut and dry.

You claim to stand up for legitimate creators... that's your biggest problem... you've been here for a cup of coffee thinking you have a clue who is legitimate and by your support of a known thief and scammer you prove that you can't make that distinction!

If you or your friends have Hodl coins that are unfunded and want to sell at a fair price over spot LMK.

Many members try to control others acting as if they dont have the ability to make their own choices. Because of this members are often reluctant to think or decide for themselves because of mockery. Those who go against the main agenda will encounter hostility. The members are now standing and refusing to accept this any longer. This community is regaining peace and the freedom to think. I expect both old and new creators returning to present their products.

Look at these threads that were created about me. Full of provable lies and unjustified attacks. If someone like me who has never scammed anyone in 15 years and sold thousands of products with razor thin profit margins and endless support can be attacked like this while nobody does anything, how can anyone expect legitimate skilled creators to participate on this forum? Even if you do everything right and are wildly successful, someone will make something up and gather support to hate you. Nothing changes here until this does.

one should be careful making statements like "I know who you are" "I will see you soon" "I look forward to it" and statements of that nature... in some states, that could be considered a threat and the person on the receiving end could then be justified to "defend" themselves with lethal force if necessary.

So someone threatens me in a public way and I am justified in seeking them out in lethal self defense?   Nah - they would have to come to where I am and be an active threat first.   Such messages are threats, but Theymos can't ban an account here for making a post elsewhere.

not in seeking them out but justified to defend yourself if they seek you out (in the image Howard is telling the guy he knows who he is and that he will see him soon and that he looks forward to seeing him soon) that is howard making a threat to this person. so that person would be justified if howard sought him out to defend himself (with lethal force if he felt he was at risk of bodily harm) I am not saying this guy could go actively seek howard out and then use lethal force - just to be clear.
