I think you seem to be right about this, because I also noticed that most gamblers are in Asian countries. In my opinion, this is because in our country, which is one of the Asian countries, online casino promotions are rampant here, promoted by artists and well-known influencers in the world of social media platforms.

It seems like only a few foreigners in the Western world are promoting online gambling, although we do see some gamblers, but the majority are in Asian countries. And it doesn't matter if the situation is like this now, right?

It should be curious to see actual gamblers on Bitcointalk who will vote based on their location. Not all of us will vote, and there are gamblers here on Bitcointalk who just post on the casino announcement occasionally and are not actual participants in gambling discussions.
The results will not reflect the real thing, but at least you can get a number.

Who knows, perhaps OP is part of the staff of some small casino which will launch soon here on the forum, and they are seeking to gather information from our community, so they can better target gamblers from here and maximize their profits.
if you thing about it, there are companies which spend a serious amount of money on market search, so they understand their potential costumers and the changes their business have to get into profit and not to loss all their initial investment.

It is kind of intelligent is a casino does something as simple but as effective as just asking people on this section of the forum where they are from, if you think about it.

Anyways, it seems people from south America are under-represented here on the gambling section... though, there are more people from Asia than I initially expected.

Although the starter of this thread didn't give a genuine reason for requiring the gambler's location, your explanation sounds right. Instead of spending money on surveys, they want gather relevant information cheaply.

I'm from Mozambique, which is on the African continent, and I've already voted. I see that I'm number 18 in the voting. Here in my country, on every street there are employees of betting shops with machines for people who have difficulty using the betting company's website to place bets. My country's government is very friendly towards gambling.

It's funny that I see many elderly people in my country betting, and they all have something in common: they want to win a lot of money with multi-bets. Fortunately, they put $1 or $2 on each parlay. I know this because I see them when they are betting and I talk to them.

From what I see, they don't take betting very seriously; it's just entertainment. The same goes for young people in my country, although I've also seen some young people from my neighborhood gambling constantly.

You do have a point there. Most companies such as online casinos attempt to know their potential consumers before opening or expanding their services. They do not have to spend on costly market research, and at times they just monitor a conversation or pose any question to people in a forum such as this. In fact, it is a viable means of finding candid views of actual gamblers in various areas. Personally, based on what I have observed in this forum, Asia and Europe seem to actively be involved in the gambling section as compared to other regions that seem not evident. Personally, I am posting in Asia where there is a steady increase in the number of online gambling communities. Such threads may demonstrate the extent to which the audience of the forums dealing with gambling is actually diverse, as well.

There’s Indonesia & Philippines for Asia and Nigeria for Africa that have active local board here and  known for having a high number of gambler. If China is active in the forum I believe that poll will be heavily dominated by Asia.

There’s a lot of big casinos including POGO in Philippines which is my country so I’m not surprised that we contributed on being the top for this poll.

I find results surprising. I expected much more from Europe and Russia.

Also, I have observed from hearsay albeit that in Australia gambling is prevalent but 'other' option seems to not have garner much votes, may be this is so because there ain't many (any?) Australian forum users here.

Privacy is very important in this world today and bitcointalk members knows this very well, they are not going to share information about where they are from unless it's necessary, you don't have to ask this question about where gamblers are located, it has nothing to do with gambling and it's a jailbreak of their privacy.

I used google search to do some research on which country has the highest numbers of gamblers, the result varies based on year.

In 2024, United states, china and Japan has the highest numbers of gamblers but in 2025 Australia took over with the highest numbers of gamblers based on capita, 78% of Australia adults are all into gambling.

No need to beat anything but beat your desire and not becoming addicted to gambling. That is just stats that @OP wants to know from where gamblers come from.

Unfortunately, in Brazil, most celebrities are promoting gambling. Even Neymar , the famous soccer player, promotes betting plaforms.

How much are you willing to believe in statistics? I read the first few answers in this topic, and people are, roughly speaking, "indignant" that they are being asked about their whereabouts on this forum? Although, of course, many can be recognized by their local sections, but still, where is the confidence in sincere answers ? I voted for Africa, even though my country isn't even on the list, and I think I'm not alone in randomly choosing countries. Therefore, anyone who thinks that someone here will take advantage of the free option of collecting statistics can be calm about its implausible content.

And yes, I noticed it late. But I don't know such a country as "other."

You are right, not everyone will want to vote  as they don't want other people to know that they are gambler. But even though they might have their own reasons why they don't want to gamble, it will be essential for them to adhere to the rules and regulations of responsible gambling for their own sake of mental health, because having other perspective of gambling that doesn't align with the initial goal of responsible gambling, they won't have no other option than to face the side effects of irresponsible gambling and the fact is that, they result of it won't be favourable.

It's good that you mentioned voting once because we all know that alternate accounts are allowed here and there could result in multiple votes from one person.
Right now, Asia has the most votes, but we never know if these are the real stats. As I said, there is a possibility of one person voting more, and there is also a possibility that a gambler prefers not to vote.

The poll may not be a perfect representation of the spread of Bitcointalk players but it surely give idea of what it is. From the result, Asia is in lead followed by Africa, this may be true though because most of the casinos here are not permitted in some Eurppean and American markets due to their stringent laws and regulations. This is unlike Africa for instance where gambling where there are no bottlenecks to gambling and business in cryptocurrency.

If these countries can bring this kind of number from the Asia section, and Nigeria only from Africa, then Nigeria alone is more populated here, we are bigger in numbers. China isn't active in the forum like that.

And not all the gamblers in Asia and Africa come here to vote and make comment. And this has nothing to do with a restricted countries. If the country is a gambling active, we would have known or seen them here. But there is another thing here again. Africa might not have the large number of casino companies  ut the participation is high. I don't know of Asia.  Some countries take gambling as a fun among age grade and peer.
They used it to play in the afternoon and evening and laughing the losers.

Does it really matter?

Most but not all users are identified with a particular local board.. For a casino to truly identify its users from Bitcointalk, it must have been running a signature campaign that requires payment through its casino or betting site.. Not all will gamble with it either, but there are stats about a user's possible location..Other than that, creating an account on these platforms doesn’t indicate anything other than a contribution to the general stats. Unless they utilize some tracking pattern .

Unbelievable so in the physical world we have to gamble like this not in the computer, I have not seen or experience this before, how easy do you think counting of vehicles would be, gambling this way will have to incure a lot of losses cause one could not imagine how fast you can count in other to win.
