Best way to understood about dollar Dollar are backed by nothing its same like there is group of people who decided together they want to control and have all the world riches good assets like gold and btc so they decided to make some paper called dollar $.
Let's say you want all the things in this world for papers you print currency put in circlelation how you do that ?
You can't just hand out this paper to everybody it will have then no value at all .....then it comes DEBT you lend this paper out with % so you creating the illusion of value of that paper.
By the time you do this you print dollars and lending them out you oversupply world with dollars that will make dollar to lose value, here is the solution higher rates, higher taxes and higher prices and higher cost of living so you collect back those dollars and start new circle.
Off course if you crash economy in many places with higher rates and taxes then nobody can't really pay back dollars with this you slow down velocity of money flow....but that's not sustaineble solution.
So finally called dollar as your printed paper what you with your friends print out you know that there is now too much paper you need to destroy of this paper in order to make shortage of dollars....what you and your friends will do ? Making the reasons why need to destroy large amount of dollars, where else you can do that best? Off course in wars once paper burned you can start new DEBT circle again.
Wars will burn money now usa will burn paper in wars this way they write off the DEBT.
In order to dollar survive it needs a lot wars because in war you can spend fastest way the money because its expensive.

The debt is just reason why you and your friends can print paper and hand it out and somehow having some control over inflation.
Once there is dollar shortage again they will start new circle and buying up world with dollars so it can be done with huge inflation and economic boom and corporations borrowing without responsebility and then huge deflation and same time higher prices so when world in the crisis and searching for dollars there will be dollar shortages and you will change your house car gold or btc for dollars just to eat and survive.
