Happy new month to us all, as we all step into this new month we all should be aware of the current scam. Currently there have being allot of high tech scam targeting Nigeria on our social platforms today.

The Scam: individuals have come to be using famous Nigerian billionaires Dangote or a famous global figure Elon Musk to do a fake AI video, mostly u will see a video telling you to invest in a specific Bitcoin Platform saying in other to help the country economy. All this videos looks real and also sound real, but all in all it an AI Deepfake technology that they are using.

How It Being Done : Most of this are being posted in our social media platform. They are going to edit an exchange looking so real and ask you to register under it , saying it a new month Give away and will tell you to deposit the  sum of  0.005 BTC that almost 450.000 in naira, and will say u should send it in order to verify your wallet and activate a bigger reward/award . All this strategy is being used in other to draw attention, so once you pay they are going to block that user and ur money is Gone for life. They will even go to the extent of saying ur reward is going to double

Rules to stay safe  : Billionaires don’t give out Bitcoin, Dangote or Elon Musk as come to be a business man not a crypto Santa Claus so let be aware of that so if we see such kind of promote of a giveaway it all a scam. We should also take a look at the withdrawal Fee, taking good note of that and any site that ask users to pay money before they can be able to withdraw his or her profit that a pure scam.

We should also ignore WhatsApp experts, allot of scamming groups are being created carrying Bitcoin names so be vigilant with the kind of association you join. Let use do well in order to  secure our hard earned Bitcoin this season. We shouldn’t allow them use AI to trick us.

Has any one see any of this fake videos lately ? drop it here let us all be warned and share to our loved ones

Deep fake has become a problem especially for us here in Nigeria with scammers always using it to try and scam people, I haven't seen this particular one but I have seen a whole lot of this types of videos online and for some you can actually tell from the start that the videos are fake but there are some that look so real that people can be easily deceived by them. You will hardly see men like Dangote coming out for things like bitcoin giveaway, promising quick profit for a price, how much does a person have for Dangote to ask for a fee first before giving you what he plans to give to you, this tactic are obvious but to those that don't see how obvious it is then beware of scams like this.

Rules to stay safe

The best rule to stay safe….Don’t chase quick money and don’t invest in any too good to be true investment.

This days with the advancements of AI, i don’t think anyone is supposed to believe what he sees online, just by scrolling..if you have interest in it then DYOR…But be sure that all of these things are scam, why will billionaire be giving out free money? Shey you work for an neh?

Quote
Billionaires don’t give out Bitcoin, Dangote or Elon Musk as come to be a business man not a crypto Santa Claus so let be aware of that so if we see such kind of promote of a giveaway it all a scam. I think these kind scams aren’t limited to only bitcoin sef…i remember seeing something like ‘ Aliko Dangote is giving out free 100k to all Nigerians’ been shared on WhatsApp groups recently….i wonder who are the people falling for those kinda scams.

Anything free money wey dem go ask you to either invest, send withdrawal or services fee or to send the link to WhatsApp group before you can claim it, it is a big red flag and it is a scam..

We should also ignore WhatsApp experts, allot of scamming groups are being created carrying Bitcoin names so be vigilant with the kind of association you join. Let use do well in order to  secure our hard earned Bitcoin this season. We shouldn’t allow them use AI to trick us.
At this point it should be known to almost everyone of us that the such scandals are scams and if you eventually fall victim then you have your self to blame because this stuffs are clearly scams and it’s just greed or lack of contentment that make them get over you. They come with offers that are too good to be true and you take it knowing fully that nothing comes easy. but you blindly flowed without thinking about the consequences then if anything happens then you shouldn’t cry to anyone.
A lot of awareness have been made here so I wasn’t informed  shouldn’t be an excuse in this era if anyone is scammed in any of this way I'm sorry to say it’s just carelessness.
I disregard any link that send me to WhatsApp to complete a task. It is the red flag for me because it is an obvious scam

The truth is this; while AI has many advantages it also has a lot of disadvantages as it’s with every innovative technology, in the right hands it’s used for good and in the wrong hands it’s used for many malicious and vicious acts.
I’ve seen AI that can mimic your voice while also presenting your image…..
Imagine receiving a message or call from family members requesting for money and when you call to confirm you see yourself talking to AI and you think it’s your family member.
These things are happening we have to be extremely cautious in our dealings on the internet especially when it has to do with finances.

They're all over telegram I've done few names I can remember Demaverick, KPB, light and a whole lot of them displaying edits and seeking the tools used in such scam activities. Only a fool or a crypto newbie would fall for such ponzi scheme they always present. There are lots of such Ponzi schemes going on now.

Deepfake videos look real, very real that sometimes you cannot spot the difference, but common sense which isn't common should remind you not to invest into any platform until you've verified the certificates they operate with and their presence in prestigious platforms like LinkedIn and moreover check if they're even registered with CAC to know if they're a valid company and if the company operates on the niche being presented in their promotions

Deepfake is not a new form of scam. Deepfake scam is all over the internet.
The recent ones are people using videos of those in the diaspora, most especially car dealers and international agents. Telling them to purchase cars from the UK and the US. We should be very careful on the internet. If you also see any video of your relative asking for me, reconfirm before sending any money.

This scam has been in existence for a very long time however, I’m very happy you brought it up because I believe some set of people don’t know about it, everyone should be very careful in social media because a lot is happening  and people are getting scammed everyday, and one thing is this scammers are always bringing one strategy or the other in order to scam people and there are some new strategy we are not even aware that they are using right now, but all we need is to be very careful and again anyone who has experienced any form of scam should always share so we can learn and be active. You can save someone from getting scammed when you share your experience on any scam issue you have had.

This is directly to those who like free things, we have to be careful and know that a lot of offers her online that are claiming to offer you free Bitcoin for performing notting, even those that request you to perform some little task online and reward you with bitcoin and not reliable to an extent, it is important that we should verify any information saying online before we go for them and try to see if they are intended to waste our time and scam us or they are just a normal offer one can go for, most of those affected in this category are the newbies in cryptocurrency.

Personally, I have witnessed it, but what we are seeing is not new, maybe some of us have not witnessed it, and bringing this topic here will save many from becoming victims. These cryptocurrency and Bitcoin scammers are all over the internet. They do anything possible to defraud people, and they appear to be real, meanwhile they are fake. If any one is interested to invest in cryptocurrency  or Bitcoin, follow the the proper way, and mind you, nobody gives Bitcoin on social media platforms, there are cryptocurrency exchanges and their cryptocurrency and Bitcoin wallets to trade and store your cryptocurrency. There are popular and reliable cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets which majority of the cryptocurrency investors are using, such as trust wallet, meta mask, Trazor, binance exchange, Coinbase bybit etc, depending if you want to trade cryptocurrency or store it in a wallet, avoid downloading any unknown cryptocurrency platform from social media platforms to make your cryptocurrency investment, doing that can only land you in danger, and make you loose your money. Some will ask you to send your bitcoin or other cryptocurrency wallet address for give away, don't fall to their scam, they can use that medium to track your cryptocurrency investment, and possibly steel them from you. Let's be very cautious in other to remain safe.

Many scam giveaway are going on, on the internet, and many who are looking for where to get free Bitcoin are falling their scam. This scammers have different ways they use to lure cryptocurrency investors, more especially bigginers into investing in a fake platform. Sometimes, they can use this medium of telling you to send your bitcoin address to track your bitcoin account and steel you bitcoin away from you. When you see any giveaway program on social media, ignore it because no bitcoin investor will begin to share his or her Bitcoin in social media platforms.

I use to encounter this bitcoin fraudulent advert on social media, they uses influencers, celebrities and many other important figures to do this, making it to be so enticing and real. If you want to invest in Bitcoin and maybe get some fraction of Bitcoin as a gift or giveaway, use genue cryptocurrency exchanges like Bitcoin, bybit etc to do that, and make sure this platforms are downloaded from google play store or google app store, and most times, this giveaway is gotten after completing some task in the exchange platform.

I have seen several similar scams like this and i don't think they have a particular country in mind as what they do is shot their shuts at the internet and any unfortunate person who falls for it would be devoured regardless of your country and ever other factor you might think of.
i think every opportunity that we find ourselves, we should always try as much as possible to educate the people around us about these scams because we never can tell who we might be helping at that very point in time.

scams and scammer will be very difficult to stop if at all it might even be stop but in order to comb it, more public awareness should be created to help  keep the people informed.
