Trading has alot of risk that many people don't really have mind to take and that's you some people think this space is same as gambling which is not.

trading is base on analysis while trading is full of prediction, we should understand that fact. Beginners are the one who truly think trading is like gambling because they think its all about predicting the market, but its not. You as a trader need to have the knowledge and Fundamentals of the crypto market before doing anything.

Sure, trading always have a risk because is unpredictable and if you’re not a lucky type he will always difficult for you to achieve your goal, many traders that always lose there money in trading some just need fast money without learning more about trading there on goals is to get benefits and they don’t really want to get knowledge about first and if you can’t be patient and learn things won’t be working out for you in a real way. When you’re new trading don’t put in mind that you want fast money. Because that always make people fail easily and they won’t try to know type of method they can be using.

Analysis and experience do not guarantee 100% profit in trading, but through proper analysis and experience, you can survive by controlling your own risk. Because the market is uncertain and it is difficult to predict the future accurately. However, gambling is dependent on luck and the gambler's research and experience cannot change the results much. In this case, the chances of success in trading can be increased relatively by research and experience, although it is not guaranteed to maintain profits in the long term. And in terms of long-term success, your own analysis, risk management and discipline are important. There is uncertainty in trading and there is an influence of luck, but it is not completely similar to gambling.

As I mentioned, trading is not gambling but they do have a lot in common, and one of those similarities is that both are game of probability. And because this is a game of probability, do not expect too much and do not treat trading as our path to success. Do not fall into the mindset that just because it is not gambling, is part of the financial market and allow us to make decision based on knowledge and analysis, we will be able to make a difference. Because if knowledge and experience alone were enough to generate profit, the percentage of profitable trader would not be as low as it is today.

I think most traders even though they are new, know that there is risk in trading, but they still take short term trading risks. Trading is a bit like gambling in terms of risk but in fact a trader can reduce the risk to a large extent through his own strategy. For example in the initial stage of trading, to get profit, you should refrain from showing volatility and make consistent buying. Your strategy in trading should be defensive and not expect excessive profits. Even if the market is volatile, refrain from selling at a loss and allocate funds within tolerance. Tolerance means using such an amount of funds that you will not need very soon and keep it in a holding state until your earned against capital. Just as discipline and patience are required in long-term investments patience is also important in trading.

While it is not a 100% guarantee that you will make money, it is a better method than everything else. I do not agree with that 97 number, that feels like way too much and I think real number is lower, but I do agree that majority does lose, real number should be more like maybe seventy percent or something like that.

This is why most people just trade without analysis and just trade based on what they see on twitter or something and then they are shocked and angry when they lose money. They even claim that they were scammed and crypto is a scam to steal peoples money, just because they did a bad trade.

This is the reason why new people are not told properly and are cheated by seeing such activity and this is the reason why many people hate trading. If they are told properly that there are these things in trading and the market is understood in this way, then new people will never put themselves in such a loss. They have to know about some expert people and they see the same evidence in the people ahead and they quickly accept their words to improve their situation and go into loss. For this few prizes they spoil other people's money, if they are taught properly in this trading they will also believe it and take advantage and they will also get a better prize.
I think millions of traders are fake traders because they are not real traders and they are gamblers because they know nothing about trading And they want to double their money. That kind of situation happens in betting and gambling but for trading people have no time to learn and Invest a small amount. They want to be rich too fast because they heard that cryptocurrency is making millionaires and they  got idea to invest the amount which is their saving And they are trusting on somebody who has no idea of trading but he want to scam with these people. You should be aware of the techniques of trading and should invest when market is stable And if any opportunity comes then leave the market when price is up and wait for the market to go down.

It is very natural that those who claim to be traders are not traders at all, they are gamblers who plan to earn more money in a short time. All those people have no idea about trading, as a result of which they do not learn anything about the market. By entering the market, they basically see it as a bet and a gamble with the aim of earning more money in a short time, but trading is not like that. To trade, you must first strengthen yourself mentally and analyze and observe the market about risk management, and then trade with small amounts so that your skills increase. But those who basically come and think of getting rich by trading in a short time are not real traders, but they bring their own emotions, as a result of which their thoughts are different, as a result of which they lose money. Although everyone can talk about trading, they cannot observe it properly, so it is best to enter with awareness by knowing the trading strategy well before trading.

This is not the only survey. Even before this, many surveys on the forex and stock market had already reached the same conclusion, not just in crypto. The 97% figure may not be entirely accurate, but most surveys show that over 90% of traders lose money.

If you don't believe this statistic, do you have any data to prove that as many as 30% of traders are making a profit?

. Trading is a bit like gambling in terms of risk but in fact a trader can reduce the risk to a large extent through his own strategy.
The best way to reduce your risk while trading is by trading with little or no leverage at all, and in addition, it is very important to trade with only what you can afford to lose, that way you wouldn't be trading with your emotions.

. Your strategy in trading should be defensive and not expect excessive profits.
I agree with you that expecting too much profit as a newbie trader might ruin your chances of making some money in trading, since a winning position can easily turn to you losing everything including your margin, but  being greedy as a veteran trader is not bad because you have to be greedy to make it big in trading.

Sure, trading always have a risk because is unpredictable and if you’re not a lucky type he will always difficult for you to achieve your goal
One thing that many new traders don't realize at the beginning is that there is a learning curve to trading. The initial thought on each person's mind is making money, but you also have to take in the lessons of the small losses.  Traders who begin with the expectation of making big profits on each trade are likely to make more errors in their trades. Traders with experience tell people not to get into this attitude. Also, having a good strategy will not get you anywhere if there is no risk management and patience, some of them find trouble in their strategy but they have troubles with themselves. So the first objective is to survive and not get rich quick.

the new traders are the ones who mostly losses more in trading because many of them do not allow themselves to naturally learn through the trading and become over ambitious traders while others graduate into greedy traders. Whatever the case may be for them, newcomers are not expected to start thinking of the profits instead of focusing more on improving their trading strategies through consistent trading and learning too. You will hardly meet a trader who dedicated about half of the year to learning of trading without expecting any form of gigantic profits

That is true, newbies are often the ones who lose the most money. However, that doesn't mean experienced trader do not lose money.

Trading is very difficult. Even if you spend years learning and gaining experience, there is no guarantee you will make money. So instead of spending years and a lot of money trying to master trading with no guarantee of success, I believe focusing on investing make more sense.

The chances of making it into the profitable 3% of traders are very low.

Surely a trader can easily get out of a risky position if he uses the amount of funds that he has in excess. The amount of funds that he is able to trade. The main thing is to keep buying and building up holdings with small amounts of funds. Leverage cannot be used.

I agree with you that expecting too much profit as a newbie trader might ruin your chances of making some money in trading, since a winning position can easily turn to you losing everything including your margin, but  being greedy as a veteran trader is not bad because you have to be greedy to make it big in trading.
Actually I don't agree with this idea of being greedy. What I mean is that your goal is to make a profit in the short term but this period should not be so short. Add small margins to the portfolio gradually and wait until you reach the desired level of profit. Apply the strategy as we would for long term investments. Never panic and sell at a loss because most traders lose money by panicking.

Trading no doubt is risky and you need to figure out whether you will be able to handle the risk associated with trading or not. If I talk about myself I figure out that I won't be able to handle the complexity of trading that is why I switched to long term investment since its less risky. There are traders who are doing good in trading but its a reality that majority of traders are in loss. If you are not doing good in trading then better switch to some other strategy where you can perform well.

Most people you see trading now are just looking for quick money, that’s why you just going to see them looking for trading signals, they believe they can just follow all those signals and they can make money, but they don’t even know that those trading signals are fake, those people are just after what you going to pay them before you will be added to group, and after paying them, they don’t care about you any longer.

If you want to trade, you shouldn’t be in a rush to make money, firstly you should take your time to learn how to trade, make sure you properly learn how you going to do your analysis before you start trading so that you won’t depend on anyone whenever you trading. Trading is not a get rich quick scheme, if you want to make money from trading, then you should learn and make decisions yourself.

Trading is a game of probability because no one can predict with certainty which direction the market will move in over the short term. Every  trade can either win or lose, and every decision is based on probabilities rather than certainty.

Trading is not something where spending more time learning and  gaining experience automatically lead to success . If things were that simple, around 97% of trader would not end up losing money.

No need to guess. Just ask yourself,  how many people here are consistently making money from trading?

I think whatever we say we should always say it clearly and make everything clear with examples and everything so that the readers understand it properly. When you say trading has similarities with gambling, you are wrong for saying it that way, because trading in general is way different than gambling.

However, you could say that there are parts of trading, or types of trading, which have similarities with gambling, such as futures trading, if you use very high leverage and no stop-loss, and options and binary trading could be said to be the trading type that is mostly similar to gambling, because in binary or options trading, you basically make bets on the upcoming price of an asset or a commodity, for example, if Bitcoin is at $63,526 so you have to guess whether it will hit $63,525 first or $63,524 first, and if your guess is right, you win, otherwise, you lose the money.

The reason why I'm saying this is because when you talk about spot trading, especially, there are zero similarities from it to gambling. Gambling doesn't require knowledge or experience, there are also no stop-loss, take profit, or any option to keep on holding if the market is not going in your favour. In spot trading, you can literally hold a position for years if you are not satisfied with the current market price, and you don't get such options in gambling at all.

I have not seen a huge percentage of people long money up to this before, the highest that I have seen is 85% of traders. But while making research, all traders are including which I think swing traders will be included. This article is about scalpers and day traders. I did not have premium subscription on the site which makes me not to read the December 11 2025 article finish.

What the article is just saying is that trading risk is the same as gambling risk if only 3% of traders are making money while 97% of are losing.

Can this be true?

I would have created a poll about this but I know many people on this forum are lying. Some do not even know how to trade but they will speak good of trading like it is a business that someone can make money from.
But if you believe that trading isnt a business that one can make money from, then you yourself don't know shit about trading, and that stats saying that 97 percent of those who trade lose money in trading, I don't believe that to be true, and for sure risk in trading isn't the same as risk in gambling, this two activities are completely different though there is a type of trading style that can be said is the same as gambling because based on how risky the style is, it can be likened to gambling.

But on the normal, a well trained trader is not a gambler, and this type of traders have far more trading wins than their loses which completely seperates trading from gambling.
We all know that in trading, the trader has the capability to decide his or her fate, whether a trade will end up losing or winning sometimes or most times depends on the trader.
For example, a losing trade can be serviced and held for longer if the trader believes the market will turn around at some point in their direction, this is unlike gambling where the gambler has absolutely no ability to stop or reverse a losing bet ticket.

You are correct mate, so many persons forget that fact, that as a new trader or as someone who just started trading, it is necessary to know some important basic things that follow trading, it is also important to try to seek advice from those whom have been trading for a while, to avoid losses that will break you emotionally. We all know how risky trading can be, so the moment these informations are are not gotten or these guild lines are not seen or read, then there is every possibility that you might fail because everyone who isn't well informed is probably deformed.
Research first, learn first and follow all the guild lines before starting to make any trade whether long term or short term.
These days, day traders have a lot emotional trauma that they are currently battling because the market hasn't been pretty favourable for a while, but if I'm to advice them, I will only say they should focus on long term trading or holding  for the period of time that it seems day trading is consuming too much income.

It quite strange, I don't think it possible for 97% traders to lose, if that is the case then alot of people would have stop trading immediately they realise that it is more riskier than they thought. The fact about trading is that you will lose in as much as you win, and nothing can change that, When we try to measure the parameters of trading, you will realize that this is how it works. No one is going to deny the fact that gambling is risky, and there's a possibility for someone to lose at any moment, but it is still not stable to make judgement that 97% traders are losing. The problem that some people have is that they never share their success with others, but if they lose or the market didn't go well for them, they will tell all the world about it.

The problem that some people have is that they never share their success with others, but if they lose or the market didn't go well for them, they will tell all the world about it.

It is possible that 97% of daily traders are losing, yet they still continue trading. People hardly give up easily.Let's take, for example, the rate of people who lose money and become addicted to gambling. They never stop gambling. In fact, there are some people who, since they started gambling a long time ago, have never won even once, yet they keep believing that one day they will definitely win.The same applies to trading. There are people who hardly make profits from their daily trading but still continue trading despite losing money. They may even lose all their capital, but they still do not give up.

The assumption that 97% of daily traders lose is possible, but it may not be entirely accurate. For example, I have known over 10 daily traders, and at the end of the day, only one person usually makes a profit. Based on observations like this, some people may assume that 99% of daily traders are losers. However, we cannot accurately determine the true percentage of people who lose in daily because it will not possible for someone to get the data correctly, but uses assumptions with someone experienced is not also bad.
