Bitcoin Maximalist or Bitcoin opportunistic, which one?

The focus on this topic is how we view Bitcoin as Nigerians.

I may not have gotten the right term for Bitcoin Maximalist, as it covers large area of every Bitcoiner. Let me break it down based off what i am insinuating in this topic. Maximalist,  "those who see Bitcoin for the reason why Satoshi created Bitcoin, beyond investment option".

Bitcoin opportunistic, as a Bitcoiner who is only here for the profits, take away Bitcoin ability to give good ROI, they won't be interested in Bitcoin.

Are the larger population of Nigerians taking Bitcoin for its initial cause of creation or as an opportunity that gives profit?

I am definitely an opportunist when it comes to bitcoin, I'm in it solely for the profits that I will be getting from it in the future.
So maybe when I get there I might consider the maximalist approach and start treating it as more of a currency then just a very good investment opportunity but until then I'm just going to stay as the opportunist that I currently am. I don't have a problem with people whose current stand is different from my own, maybe without their use of bitcoin I probably won't have any hope of making any profit from it so I appreciate their efforts.

The biggest reason for creating Bitcoin is so that we can keep our currency safe without intermediaries. For example, we are currently hearing about the fraud of many big banks. Many incidents are being heard or seen happening now that banks have run away with all the money of the customers. Satoshi Sir created Bitcoin with the aim of keeping our assets or currency safe from these intermediaries and protecting our money from inflation.

A person who trades Bitcoin may be losing many big opportunities in the future. Because Bitcoin is currently transforming into an asset and may have become. For example, if you buy a land now, knowing this information that if there is a possibility of a big city being built in that place 10 years from now, if you buy land in that place 10 years ago, you can profit a lot of money. The same situation is currently in the case of Bitcoin. Looking at the demand for Bitcoin, we can predict that the price of Bitcoin could skyrocket in the next 10 years. So those who are trading now may regret not holding it later.

When you dey talk of the Larger Population of Nigerians that are into Bitcoin, then they’re definitely opportunist even though dem fit get little wey be Maximalist Sha but most of the populace are Opportunist because we Nigerians don too suffer as jobs no too dey available and opportunity to get money dey limited, so crypto or should I say Bitcoin investment and other stuff related to the web3 space don bring the youth better opportunity to earn a living through the internet.

I think the result is to profit. It doesnt matter if you are a bitcoin maximalist or a bitcoin opportunistic.
Based on statistics, we have more bitcoin opportunists in the world today than bitcoin maximalists. Governments and big institutions are mainly opportunists taking advantage of the market dynamics to increase their networth.

Is quite understandable to say that larger number of our naija people are opportunists than being a Bitcoin maximalist, but in a more real sense of application and for someone to a good Bitcoin opportunist it will takes such person to be a Bitcoin maximalist as well, if you are an opportunist so much doubt and fear will be entertained compared to a maximalist who is also an opportunist, I believe Bitcoin to be the best among other cryptos and also for the reasons behind it creation even I hope on how much profits it yield over a long term, that is a maximalist and also an opportunist. That is the level most people are operating on, they make use Bitcoin and as well hodl for a long term.

Na true matter you don talk so, and Na so E be. For me, I be more of opportunist, because Na so w don be for us for this our nija.. everybody dey find way to survive. Everywhere just choke, but if person fit buy bitcoin, come hold, person fit make enough money from am take package in self. Imagine people wey buy for that $60-65 area when the price fall, come hold am to when E reach $72-73. Then those wey don buy am since, for years past, dem go just dey happy for the climb.

Anyhow, using bitcoin for payments is just so cool and provides the needed privacy and security, and on the other hand, buying and holding for gains is still a good one. Whichever way, bitcoin is a store of value and we are all out to reap from its good

Frome my view so many in Nigeria venture or turn to bitcoin because of the opportunity of making profit or loss of money value with the economy problems it pushes them to go after the financial benefit first. But with time, some begins to have an understanding about how bitcoin works is more like financial freedom, so many people starts as na opportunist, then later they began to understand the bigger purpose behind it or the deeper value of bitcoin

We don’t need to beat around the bush more about this. The vast majority of bitcoiner, beyond even Nigeria now are into bitcoin because of the profit, so they’re mostly opportunistic than maximalist in the Bitcoin space. This is not really a big deal as it has brought about more adoption and utilization of this currency more than before.

For Satoshi, bitcoin is just another currency that can be used as an alternative to the fiat current while maintaining its decentralized form. The use of it as an investable asset is a secondary function of Bitcoin but has come in handy to bring about more adoption in the bitcoin space. As long as adoption rate is growing, the reason for joining the Bitcoin network is never a questionable one as long as it is used positively.

Yeah bitcoin maximalist is the right word for that , those that don’t just see Bitcoin as a digital currency they also see the opportunity and potential in it , I can’t say I’m a bitcoin maximalist yet but one of the reason I came into this space is to understand the technology more , how it works cause I found it interesting, there are other means to earn money , but I choose this cause I’m not just earning i am having fun while doing so .
