The issue of private and public school has been said repeatedly on this forum. But nevertheless there is no big deal. No doubt that private schools are taking the leed, but the truth is that government don't take adequate care of public school and because of that note that make many people don't enroll their children. And the worst part is that this greedy politicians that refuse to work on public schools  now owns the most expensive school with most qualified teacher and good facilities, dragging the attention of pupils to their school. Now tell me how public schools will be better?

You are correct, this is where the problem imanate when the people who are in charge of managing the government schools have their own schools that's to say competition has sets in , they will not longer do the public schools very well so that people will prefer their own schools than the public schools, but believe me if government should ensure the management to a trust worthy person hand it will be more safer than now, and learning will be more effective, just check out in a school where students seats on the floor when they are learning how would them concentrate, no library,no computer no good board this is devastating, tell me how the parents will not change school for their kids.

This is truly annoying, and it's absolutely right because these are the majority of what degrade most our public schools. Public schools In some part of the country are now not look like school where people will learn at all. some public schools need renovation and some do lack infrastructures and even shortage of staffs and elected politicians are to be blamed for that. All of us now focus on private schools because you can't send your child to the school that is not conducive for learning.The public school is now gradually abandoned and I don't know why almost every government sector is now gradually collapse.

You are right because i saw the picture of the place when i saw verydarkman visited the community school where the young girl was calling for help through Local government chairman and everything the chairman beat her up, the truth of the matter is that burna boy the Nigeria musician heard that the verydarkman visited the community school and burna boy called the verydarkman on phone to give him the total costs of the community school that he is going to rebuild the school to a standard, if you should ask me this is what we should be doing to our society once you are rich and recognize than waiting for the government to do everything for us.

It’s really annoying that we are in a country where the citizens are scared of voicing out their minds , they said we have freedom of speech while our leaders want us to be voiceless, I saw that video it’s all over the internet, the so called leaders have sent their own children abroad and best schools in the country while they allow the poor masses to dowell in a poor situation, it was really disheartening seeing children suffering while project money are been shared among themselves  , when any one has the boldness to speak up , they intimidate them with their power , i so much thank God for the help of social media , and other platforms which everyone has right to say what is in their mind  ,  the world is modernize now , I’m glad with the way things are going now .

This isn’t just a matter of Government schools that’s going down alone in the country, but several of government owned institutions are going down already, when you talk about government schools especially the primary and secondary schools are down, not just because they don’t have students attending those schools because if you look at the public universities here you’ll surely noticed that they have lots of students even when compared to the private ones but the truth is that the  public universities are really nothing to write home about, yes they have lots of students but the purpose has been abused, the learning facilities are nothing to write home about, they can’t boast of students capable of representing themselves in their various fields very well either home and abroad. They produce many graduates who can’t even come out to defend what they have studied in the university as a result of poor educational quality both in theory and practice.

I was not pleased when i came across a story in social media were a lady was speaking the heart of the students in the social media by calling on the chairman of ahoada local government in River State to come to their aid so that the chairman can write to the government or solve the problem, and could you believe that after the class room teacher finished showing those affected that needs the attention of the government to work because most of the class rooms building and zinc need renovation, i hard that the lady was beating up by the local government chairman in Ahoada local in Rivers State, i know that some time those that we elected to be speaking for us and letting the government the problems that need urgent attention in the society but due to their own selfish interest they will aboundon all that they promise to do for people, i know that sometimes we blame the government but I'm here to say that all problems is not the government but our brothers that will choose to be communicating for us through government.

What you are saying is very correct, many of our government owned schools are not really functioning, and if we truly value education and the future of our children, we will not give chance to all these things. One of the main reason why these things are happening is because of poor administration and having the wrong people as leaders. At first, it is the responsibility of the local government chairman to ensure that the system of education within his own local government is in order, if a complaint is channeled to the chairman, he or she is in the position to act accordingly and ensure the problem of the school is attended to. Besides, from the state's school board or even from the government house, possibly from the office of the commissioner for education, they should get the statistics of the whole government schools and how they are fairing, with this, every government school will be given the required attention.
In a situation where no body cares and the people in authority fail to act on their responsibilities, the system of education will likely collapse.

In the case of this school in Ahoada Local Government Area in Rivers state, it is obvious that the money have been allocated for the renovation of that school but the people in charge keep diverting the money to their personal pocket. When I watched a thorough video of that school, from what I was seeing it was obvious that it is more than 20-25years anything was done on that school, making the school environment not conducive for students to learn. Most of things like this are the reasons government schools are going down, same goes to some government health facilities.
