I think the first two points are enough and they are possible only through true self-determination to achieve the objective of being able to quit gambling and not fall in addiction. Now even if they are heavily addicted still the same is needed in order to get out of that addiction, self-determination. While for drugs that is a no go for me, I have never used drugs and not because I am a saint of a person but because the damage it does to the body cannot be repaired for many years to come, just as a can of Redbull takes exactly 2 weeks to completely be off your body the drugs take years. To expound on this further, the goal of the player is very crucial on whether or not it will make or break the person. If your goal is purely for entertainment, then addiction can be at least minimized or lessened. If your goal is to earn money, then the list that you provided OP will be relevant especially that overspending would come.
