The best way to win in gambling is by not taking high risks through making so much accumulated bets or playing options that has a very high odd. I don't know how much you staked the bet but let's assume you used $10 it means that with 1.67 total odd you will make a gain of $6.7 which is not bad at all because you will have a staking power to continue with other bets you have in mind.

I am not a fan of playing accumulated bet because if any of the selected games fails, you will automatically lose your bet, that is why I would rather stake on a single game with an odd as high as 1.60 than accumulating a bet that is more than three games, even though the total odds is not up to 1.50 odds.

But when selecting a single team to win, you have to use a reasonable amount to bet, so that your winnings will be worth it, because it would make no sense if you are using $5 to stake on a single bet that has 1.20 odds, that would not give you anything reasonable, so using from $15-30 will be fair, and I bet that you will have a better chance of winning than when you take an accumulated bet that a single game can spoil everything in seconds.

I doubt if there is an easy way to success as long as gamble is concerned. But although, multiple selections stand more on a higher chance of losing than a single game. However, even though we can't be assured of everything in gamble, but few selections  with a fat or tangible staking power is more expected to bring out a more positive results than lining a series of games that might probably get ruined by one or two in it.  

One thing I've understood about this game called gamble is that it can be very tricky Sometimes, no matter how hard you try to have your way, the house hedge is always two or more steps ahead of you.

Well, yesterday I was following the LDU and Mirassol game and they tied again, I really didn't expect it. LDU ended up winning in the penalty shootout, but at least I managed to salvage something from that bet since I had LDU winning in regulation time. Anyway, I didn't see this match coming down to penalties.

I made a bet on Mirassol classification, but failed 
I really believed that Mirassol could qualify even though they were playing away
It was tough, but LDU ended up pulling it off


At least I made a good bet on Corinthians 
I decided to believe in my team, and we got a good result against Rosario Central (Di Maria's team)
So I ended this round with at least that one winning bet

Flamengo vs. (Independiente del Valle or Deportes Tolima)
Palmeiras vs. LDU Quito
Fluminense vs. Platense

We now have the 8 finalist teams, and the last team to qualify is Independiente del Valle, who beat Tolima: 3-1. Anyway, with all due respect to the Ecuadorian team, it's a formality, since Flamengo is a better team. Incidentally, as mentioned in the quote, they should be one of the four finalists. That said, these should be the 4 (3+*1*) semifinalists:
