Gulf Countries Review Investments After US -Iran Conflict.

Hey everyone i hope u all doing well i wanted to talk about something big happening with the Gulf states. They are under serious financial pressure because of the ongoing U.S Israeli war against Iran. As a result these Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia UAE and Qatar are starting to review their overseas investments. They are looking closely at their business deals contracts and even sports sponsorships they are trying to figure out how to cut back and protect their budgets. This is a huge shift especially after Trump’s visit last year when they pledged  approximately 3.6 trillions dollars to invest in the U.S economy. Now a top Emirati businessman Khalaf al-Habtoor called out Trump directly on social media. He asked Who gave you the right to drag our region into this war. Where did all the billions we invested go are we funding peace or war? It is a wake up call and I am really curious what do you all think. How will these moves affect Gulf-U.S relations long term?

The US is losing in this war, not their armies..no,no. They are losing the bond they have with the Gulf countries gradually. Originally, this is a war between Israel and Iran, the US should have nothing to do with this war. One way or another, we dont know how the Israelis dragged Trump into the war. But the reality is, there is a secret that is yet to be unveiled. If the leaders of these gulf countries are wise, they should propose a new deal, that we favor them in this trying times.

As far as wisdom of leaders of GCC is concerned, I don't think they have any. If they have some wisdom then they would not have allowed US to establish its military bases in their countries. UAE which was proud of its skyscrapers buildings and security provided by local police is helpless in stopping missiles coming from Iran.  Now Iran is targeting GCC because US is attacking Iran from these countries and if Iran came out victorious or at least survived this war then GCC future will be jeopardise.

Maybe it's about time they start thinking that investing in the military and arms is way more important than the flashy skyscrapers and tourist destinations. Without security, the skyscrapers can turn into piles of rubble in no time. There will be no tourism they keep boasting about.

I can't understand how they even let the US set up military bases all over their countries and seas after the US invaded and massacred their brothers in Iraq, Afghanistan and many other Asian states. The US has been colonising them and they have been so blinded by the billions in USD

It's a normal thing that we expect a cut from some of the budget they have already made because of this ongoing war, most of the economic activities are being placed on stand-still, which will definitely affect some of their budget as they might have planned in the past, there's not how we can expect things like this to happen because the consequences is going to be much more bigger than we expected as everyone is affected already.

As for the countries like the UAE, I start to see that people are too panicking about them who are not in the country. There are advisories that they're just fine and people are continuing with their lives. And so, I think that the media plays a huge part in it and as for the investments there, they have more than what we can think of. But to build more military assets after they have invested with a lot of infrastructures for businesses, that's what they need to prioritize after this war ends. Maybe they have already foreseen it but AFAIK, the neighboring countries there are friendly to each other for most except for the few. They need to renew some treaty so that none of them will be affected with other nations conflict meddling with the US bases there. I think the whole point of it is the trigger that the USA did and that's why their bases are being attacked.

This kind of situation shows how money and politics are connected because when the tension raises in a region even those that are strong in partnership will be affected because in this kind of situation every country will be looking if way to protect their own economy

All I have to say is that the gulf countries will learn how to or they will likely become more careful on the kind of place they put their money that don't mean that the relationship they have with the U. S will end, but they can start spreading their investments so that the crisis won't affect everything at once. In this kind of global issues long term interest and trust is always under pressure

The truth about this war many involved have not tell all the true story, gulf countries could be bitter with this affecting them as it's unplanned before them but the action of Iran show that them too are under impression by their fellow gulf nation if Iran can attack them without considering their regional bond. Anything happens in war losses in both sides gulf nation know what they want and should work it out US still want to keep the position as world power and wouldn't like any competition around seen Iran waxing strong is really a threat that's why they are taking the measure to avoid regret in future.
