This is a funny topic and I have been contemplating about it why I would have to train a woman in school when I have good things to do with my money. I will rather invest my money and involve myself in businesses that will fetch me money than to use my money to train a woman in school. Any gambler that may be having the intention to train and person's daughter in school must be joking.

I reread it several times before I understood what the author meant. I also wouldn't spend my money with a dubious prospect without guarantees. If other options were available, I would use them the same way and, for example, invest in something other than someone's education. If it's my relative, then even then, only if I could afford it. Recently there's something that has become a bit common to have been happening in our society though it doesn't happen all of the time. 
A man who see a girl through the University with the intension of marrying her, proposes to her and at the end the lady turns the proposal down. This just happened recently again and the lady even went as far as slapping him. People commented some below comments;
1; it is better to gamble with my money than see a woman through school.
2. Do not insult a gambler if you are Training a girl in school because you are both  thesame. It is a 50, 50 chance of winning for each case.

What is your taught on the above statements made?

I don't know, I can't judge someone case (especially a personal one), because we know what really happened to them. Their problem might not be financial, and maybe there is something unsolved about their issues. I believe any relationship between two people will survive or be long-lasting, especially when they support each other.

Regarding the comments of some people who tried to compare this case to gambling, I think it is very interesting to compare it like that, and of course we would think it is better to gamble in real, than gamble to finance a woman education and then marry her. However, I believe all endeavors in this world are similar to gambling, meaning we have a "chance of success or failure". Whether it is running a business, paying for expensive education in the hope of succeeding, by using the skills acquired, etc., I believe it is all the same, and all of these things have something at stake, but the difference lies in the method and the consequences.

This kind of incident is only common in Nigeria. If I want to do anything for any lady, it should be done without me expecting something else in return. Marriage is a lifetime commitment. If the only reason I'm investing in someone's education is because of marriage, I will not do it. Do you think having genuine connections and trust for someone and not expecting anything in return after investigating so much in the person, only to get a negative feedback or negative replies from such person's donot hurt? I'm sure regardless of the intension of the person involved if you get a negative return it will hurt you. Maybe it might not say it out publicly but deep down you are dyeing of hurt and pain that you regret your good actions good deeds.

These kind of feeling is totally normal,caring for someone and trusting them can hurt if they don’t feel the same way. The comparison was a little out of context, for me the obvious choice was to go with the girl, I mean it is surely going to be different depending on stories or personal experience your future spous for sure is one of your biggest investment in life, I dont want it to sounds different but having a girl is already a huge investment, even if you like it or having a women is going to be expensive, food for two is expensive, getting a flower is expensive, but in my experience it is all worth it if you will get married in the future, I mean in the end it's surely going to be a huge profit if you have a girl the is there to support you, so I would always support dating to marry, and to be honest I dont really see why people date without having the intention to marry.

What I will say is that comparing seeing someone or a woman through school to gambling is not really accurate because training the woman you clam to love is supposed to come from care and support because we all know that if you care for someone you will do want it takes to make the person happy and it's not like you're investing your money then in return the marriage is your profit.

It's not normal for a guy to sponsor a girl through school with the aim of getting married to her. As a guy, if you want to assist a girl and sponsor her schooling, you can do it for charity sake, it's not a must that the woman must marry you because you saw her through her study, as long as we are living, our choices can change at any time and when the girl that you have assisted through her education doesn't chose you as a partner, you should allow her and move on. Personally I can not agree to see a girl through her university for the purpose of getting married to her after her graduation from school, I can do that for free of charge without any condition of marriage but that can only happen if I have enough money to do it and also if I have helped my own siblings because charity begins at home.

If you want to get married to a lady, the condition should not be that you must see her through school financially, emotionally and otherwise. If that is the case, then you guys should have an agreement before you start sponsoring her education.
