I have said this thing several times that gambling should not be seen as a source for income nor a means for survival. If you want to gamble, gamble because you want to have fun or you want to entertain yourself, and not to make money. Gambling becomes problematic When you start seeing it as a means for making money, and at this point you can easily get yourself addicted, because you won't be playing with a normal mindset and with the amount of money you can afford to loose. As a responsible gambler you need have a specific budget for gambling, and Set a clearly time limit and sick to it always.

There are real professional gamblers.

I really do not understand what is so hard about accepting reality. Of course it is impossible to make a living by gambling. Unless you think you are the one lucky grain of sand on a whole beach to be chosen. But you might as well buy a lottery ticket and hope for millions.

In order to not go crazy, learn/employ some self discipline. Don't bet more than a fixed number. If for example, you bet no more than 1 dollar everyday you will not lose more than ~30 dollars a month. Stick to a budget and don't take more than 10% of your disposable income as your gambling budget.

I've seen people that made it their primary source of income and made it and there are also millions of people that did same and are very unsuccessful. Unfortunately, the millions  outweighs the few hundreds that actually made decent living with gambling exclusively as their primary source of income. I personally know a guy who only goes for low odds and stakes heavily on it and he's very patient with his selections so if his convictions are not at 95% or higher, doesn't bet. 1 win per month is enough to keep him going for several months because of the size of his stake. Depends on your gambling. There are a few streamers that I watch who have 100k-1m subscribers to their kick channels, same for their youtube channels, and are also kick partners. Let's say they have 1 million subscribers each month on kick. That's 5 million dollars just off kick subscriptions alone, not including kpic they get from kick parners, and youtube money they make. These guys are going from casino to casino playing slots or table games.

Bottom line is people pay a few bucks a month to be entertained from these streamers. Doesn't matter if they are gambling streamers or hot tub chicks or whatever. It's cheap entertainment.

It's a game of chance and that's why this is the kind of source of income that the person don't have a stable income. But you're right, whoever decides to do it as a source of income should be ready to face the consequences. And those are what you've said. The depressing part is when a gambler is losing almost everything they have and yet, they're still hopeful that they'll recover and profit from it. It's literally not ideal, but not impossible.. there are some people who gambling is actually their source of income. Aside from casino workers, I'm talking about those who might have been lucky in the gambling world and won amazing amounts, most especially from sport betting. Sport betting to me might be the only part of gambling that can give someone such a life, where gambling may be a source of income. How can gambling to be a sustainable source for our income?  

We know there is no guarantee to win certain amount of money in gambling even if we are quite experienced. I assume even professional gamblers have no idea about making certain amount of money in a certain time period. So, gambling isn't suitable for the main source of income. Ideally, it is mostly for entertainment. Even we want to consider gambling as a source of income, it must for additional income only. And we must remember to keep some limits of using money in gambling. We mustn't triggered to use money as much as possible because we want to get bigger money from gambling.
