Gambling cannot be a source of income, because luck in gambling can't always be obtained, and someone can experience continuous bad luck, or what is often called a "losing streak". Furthermore, a suitable source of income can only be obtained from a job that generates stable income, and there is no randomness to the outcome. Therefore, I believe it is unwise to use gambling as a source of income, and the wisest choice is to treat it solely as entertainment. In essence, making gambling a source of side income is difficult, let alone making it a main source of income, I think that is impossible to do.

There is no professionalism in gambling no matter how long you have been gambling. If it were so, then I believe many gambling sites or companies must have closed down by now because of consistent loss, but that's not the case.

Since you mentioned strategy, it reminded me of how naive some people can be because they believe that a certain strategy or a pattern can actually put them ahead of the house and they can use such strategies and patterns to actually make money from gambling, which is foolish knowing the fact that gambling, especially the games that we play such as dice, roulette, slots, and all others, are all luck-based games and the results are generated through random number generators and the result could literally be anything unless the casino is rugged, and we still believe patterns work and they can allow us to make money.

One can even work as their customer care personnel and get paid, or as their ad campaign manager and social platforms and forum like this one and get paid as well, but for the ad campaign manager job to be considered as a sustainable income source, the casino have to be a serious one and the type that will run a very long term ad campaign, not like some of the casinos we see on the forum here that launches, then run an ad campaign for one to four weeks and then close/end it.

And again and on other  hand, apart from  working for or with the casino for a salary that can be sustained and earned for a long time, another sustainable income source in the world of gambling is owning and managing a successful either online or offline gambling casino also, this (like I believe I've previously said in one of my comments (can't remember where)) is a very lucrative business from what I believe a lot of us have seen so far, though it's not an easy task managing a casino but it's always worth far more than the stress.

Gamblers are getting addicted because they believe that they can make money in gambling in the long-term. While this might be applicable to the selected few, I still believe that it isn't for majority of the gamblers.
