Is it an achievement to have knowledge about Bitcoin but not be able to invest in Bitcoin?

If teaching and spreading news about Bitcoin is all you can do, would you considered yourself a total failure?

A friend is running a business and all he can do is pay bills and eat, he is not in power to do more than this, but having the knowledge about bitcoin is making him to question if he have wasted his time learning about Bitcoin.

Is the only way to be part of this movement is by becoming an investor?

It's not necessarily to become an investor to be part of it. Having knowledge about bitcoin can also be used to earn money or even implement it to your business if you have one. For example, let's say someone invested on my project which is a casino and all I ever did is to make sure the bitcoin funds is safe and the website is secured so, I can say that I used my knowledge about bitcoin to run a casino where I would earn money in the future once it is launched. In some cases, they use their knowledge about bitcoin to run a service where they will get paid on bitcoin. In short, it's not necessary to invest your own money in bitcoin to earn because you can earn by selling your skills or running a service before using the bitcoin funds to earn more and it's not a waste of time.

If you don't have the needed fund to buy bitcoin, there is nothing you can do about it and it is unreasonable to blame yourself for that as long as you are doing your part to ensure that you are becoming more financially buoyant to buy when the money is available. if you can not buy, there are still ways you can still earn from your knowledge of bitcoin and the fact that you are completely enthusiastic about it. there are still other things we know of that are profitable but if finances is a problem, it is going to be still difficult to leverage on those things.

At the end, being knowledgeable about bitcoin without funds at the moment is still far better than those that till this point don't know about bitcoin even though they have some huge amount of money that is lying waste in bank. knowledge is important because without knowledge, there can never be a place of application.

It depends, do you want to be successful and rich but can't able to find a way even with bitcoin then yes, you are a failure just like 99% of the sheep in this herd but if you want the bitcoin to be successful as an idea then teaching to others itself a success.

And who said paying bill is failed person, that is what most people do and if you do then you are discplined but not able to reach the full potential of your success for outside factors.

Teaching others about Bitcoin is already a big contribution to Bitcoin since you will bring more people to use Bitcoin and adopt its technology/usage.

There’s a lot of different contribution on Bitcoin not only through investing on it.  A simple encouragement or support to Bitcoin that will engage to non Bitcoin holder is already valuable use of your time.

It’s just hard to believe someone preaching and doesn’t follow what he is teaching. It’s like you already have a genie that can give you wealth but you don’t use it.

The achievement is when you invest in Bitcoin and profitable over it, we stand to gain nothing by just being knowledgeable about bitcoin without anything profiting us, we are not to speculate the Bitcoin network or what others are doing, instead everything is for our own benefits when we know it and also make profit through the knowledge we have in Bitcoin.

What do we stand to gain by doing this, if we are being employed and got paid for doing that, then I don't see anything bad in it, if we already invested also and then decided to embark on teaching others, we still stand to lose nothing by doing so, but whatever thing we decided to go for most be a reason to our profiting in Bitcoin.

Except for the intellectual assets, I'm not sure that satoshis drive any form of financial asset that makes bitcoin valuable in the market.
If you have technical knowledge of cryptography, you can become a contributor to improvements to the bitcoin protocol or you can apply aspects of the technology to real life.

If he is earning money with teaching then why is it a failure? Of course, it is best if he can make use of what he has learned and actually invest in bitcoin but if he hasn't done that but is earning in other ways using his knowledge about bitcoin then it is not that bad in my opinion. What's worse is if he didn't knew about bitcoin at all.

My life doesn’t revolve around Bitcoin. It’s not a cult. Bitcoin can be used as an asset or currency, and I’m not going to beat myself up if I can’t afford to buy and hodl that asset. If I was in your friend’s shoes, I’d be thinking of ways to increase my income - maybe learn a new skill or even better become a bitcoin educator and charge a small fee for online classes. You’d be shocked how many people are willingly to pay for information they can get online for free.

The only way someone can have a good knowledge on Bitcoin, discuss about Bitcoin and invite people to invest without following the actual steps themselves is by being financially incapable of building their own portfolio, it is appropriate for such person to not consider themselves a failure, whenever the finance is available, they can setup their portfolio, there is no limited time of investing in Bitcoin.

Some people also uses Bitcoin as payment options, they are also contributing to Bitcoin, because those transactions count for more demand in the network.

He is not going to lack funds to buy Bitcoin forever. Having the knowledge is the first step; now, all he needs is to find ways to earn more and have other sources of income. With Bitcoin or without Bitcoin, nobody wants to live from hand to mouth. Even if Bitcoin had not been invented, he would have still found ways to earn more so he can save, that is what he should focus on. What matters is that he has the knowledge now, so it's not a waste of time. You don't need to own a car before you can learn how to drive. You can learn to drive before you own a car.

What you do with your knowledge about bitcoin in my estimation is completely up to you. No one is going to judge you for knowing and not investing and vice versa. The main question is what is your goal? Is it knowledge for it sake only or knowledge to invest. Labelling oneself because they know and haven't yet invested in bitcoin is too harsh and leads can lead to mental breakdown. This is like financial literacy, what do you want out of it and take your time to answer. It may take years to be certain but by all means be clear about your purpose.

Not everyone has the stomach to be a Bitcoin investor, because it demands some amount of risk involved and practices that abound to make it safe to invest in and manage till it is worth more over time.
Some can be mentors without experience but with the right knowledge, some can be those who write codes and develop systems to help Bitcoin investment operate smoothly, some can have the knowledge and are waiting for the right time to invest which is of course not now or maybe when their other investments payout and they are looking for a diversification investment.

The knowledge is important for a critical moment when payment systems fail and commercial banks can't do much, perhaps then the knowledge of Bitcoin can be put to use and it's of course not a waste.

That's a good feat already, knowing that you shared your knowledge and let those people you taught learn how to use, invest and earn in bitcoin.
By that, it's  not already waste of time, in many ways, it can be extremely valuable. It depends on how you define "success" and failure. So for me that's too far to be considered as failure. It's unfortunate that your friend cannot maximize all his learning to make fruit out of it.

Achievement is something like personal, an achievement for you might not be important with the others but it does not make your personal achievement is no longer an actual achievement for yourself. You don't need to compare yourself, your achievement with anyone else as well as their achievements. Do what they like, love what they do, and achieve what they want.

No, it is not a total failure.
If you can contribute anything positively for community, you make good things and have kind of achievements. With Bitcoin, you can contributing through education but be careful as there is risk of Bitcoin physical attacks. Don't think like if you are only teaching about Bitcoin, nobody including bad people will pay more attention on you.

I wouldn't say so. Someone who just knows the basics stacks more than you do. What's the point of knowing about bitcoin if you don't take action to increase your cashflow to buy bitcoin?

Not at all. Information is power. Having knowledge is a pretty good start. At least, he knows where to invest in. But again, if he has knowledge as you claimed, he should know that he does not need all the money in the world to buy bitcoin. When his financial condition improves a bit, he can start DCA'ing.

There's no amount of knowledge that you will have about bitcoin when you're a no coiner that will be better than a bitcoin investor because bitcoin investment is by praticals to gain more knowledge and experience and not by theory. Investing in bitcoin is very simple on paper. I think that a real bitcoin enthusiast must be a bitcoin investor and live by example. Anyone that has all the bitcoin knowledge without any fraction of bitcoin is not serious.

Fact is shown with Bitcoin price and this chart for Satoshi per dollar. Governments, central banks can do things they want, say bad words about Bitcoin, some people can attack Bitcoin too but they all don't change this fact of Bitcoin growth. The growth is strong and has lasted for many years so there will be not risk of Bitcoin attacked to dead.

With time, Bitcoin will become stronger and more secure in its network hashrate and decentralized nodes globally while adoption growth will support to bring Bitcoin more nearly to financial mainstreams.

Yep that is an achievement isn't it, because you already have knowledge about bitcoin, at least to invest you can do it anytime when you are ready.

Why did your friend say consider this a waste of time? Is the bitcoin knowledge that he has a burden for him because he doesn't invest? I think in the future no one knows and maybe the business he is running is growing rapidly so he can start investing right? don't despair because you can't afford it.
