I want to warn the community about this user.

I was scammed by this person for $2,500. He contacted me after learning that I needed someone to develop a website. He asked for a $2,500 deposit to start the work.

After I sent the money, he failed to complete the project. I requested a refund, and he said he would send the money later because his phone was not with him. However, after that he stopped responding and has ignored my messages.

How was he able to contact you directly, did you make a post here for such services?
Where are the proof of communication and proof of the payment you made to him. There should be some data you should provide for the community to believe you.

Again that account has an active red tag for trying to scam since 2019, you would've looked carefully before entrusting him with your funds. You've been here since 2017, so you should know users that are not to be trusted from their profiles.

Sorry about the money that you lost to a scammer.

The account has nothing to lose. It has no reputation but you gave him $2500. Someone you do not know or know where he is living. It is good for you to also know how to avoid scammers.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, but if you leave a neutral tag, I think that's enough. Without further evidence from the OP and the possible response from the accused, I think all that's needed is a neutral tag indicating the situation.

On the other hand, I see that the account is old and that he posts, but with gaps of months. It wouldn't be surprising if he doesn't come back here for a while.

This is a serious allegation and should be backed by strong evidence. But it seems you haven't added anything except saying it verbally and haven't followed the proper scam accusation format as well. What drove you to deal with a red-tagged user? Haven't you noticed the negative feedback on his profile? Haven't talked through the forum PM, and most importantly, why haven't you used the forum escrow service before dealing with that guy?

From our end, we can tag that account if you provide valid evidence like a forum PM screenshot, etc. I really don't trust telegram chat history due to it's easy to create fake chat or impersonate. Shouldn't deal outside of the forum, and if on the forum, then must use the escrow service. Sorry for your loss; hope you take a costly lesson.

You should have used a trust escrow service for this case, and there are a few of them in this forum who would be glad to provide the service. They would only release the money to the other party if the work was well done

Please help us and add more details to your accusation so that the account can be tagged and flagged.

If he never gives you a progress report, it's clearly a scam. Otherwise, he might be a bit upset about having to return the money even though he's already completed part of the work. But he still doesn't have the right to keep the $2.5k.

I don't see him ever offering web design services on this forum. If you don't mind, would you be willing to share the terms of the contract?

Regardless of whether the allegation is true or not, and however unfortunately, OP is the kind of person who would get scammed no matter what. The account they are dealing with already has a 7-year-old negative trust from a DT member. OP didn't see the big glaring -1 next to their trust score I guess, or saw it and decided to do business with an otherwise totally unknown person on the internet.

OP I'm not trying to put you down... hopefully you learned something. If you want action to be taken against Blossom15 you're going to need to provide some kind of backing evidence.

Before making a deal with anybody from this forum, there are some few tips you have to know and understand.

1. Scam is not being moderated and you're dealings with anybody is at your own risk.
2. Try to make everything you are doing open by creating a thread and that should serve as a reference.
3. Check on their reputation before engaging on any form of deal with them, that is why each user have a trust section on their profile.
4. Be reminded that engaging on anything with a member is at your own risk if you are not having much confidence in them to deliver to you.

That user has nothing to loose if he doesn't return here to either attend to the allegations against him or even decide to abandon his account.
He is not earning from the forum too, so it is most likely he's gone, He's not been active here since 6th of last month.

OP too is not serious with the thread, like he's just created the thread and abandoned it here without any single follow-ups. I believe this was a private deal they had off the forum.
