I hope he is fine.

We had an Internet blackout in our country while there was ongoing protest against the government. Those days were terrible. We were playing offline games, and even joined the protest because we had nothing else to do. Turning off the internet was a bad decision by the government. They thought people would stay at home. But what were they supposed to do at home without internet? So people joined the protest.

I understand why Iran blocked the internet connection. They don't want US and Israeli agents to pass the information while the war is ongoing. I hope he is fine and he will come online again.

This days it's easier to get esims with internet data on them, a little brother of mine was sharing free eSIM that's giving out 15GB for 2 weeks free for users to test their service.

I hope Pooya87 can find something similar, they are not really hard to set up, just a simply qr code scan and the service will be up and running, I hope that innocent people in Iran won't pay for the curse of war because there is a saying that when the sinners are facing their karma it's possible that the innocents will also be affected too.

I hope he is fine and safe. He is a great asset to this community and a trustworthy guy who deserves appreciation and respect. Personally i made some useful discussions with him in the "Economics" board where he didn't hesitate to give me some merit points despite we have different (sometimes contradictory) opinions about some topics.

I hope that his inactivity is only caused by internet interruption.
I heard from the news today that the internet is gradually returning and there is a direct link in news channels with their correspondents in Tehran and other cities.

This whole war stuff has been crazy honestly speaking and had it not been this thread I really didn't notice he hasn't been online for a while. Read through this thread and I can see how easily the government there shutdown internet which is wild considering what's happening and how useful it is today.

I hope he's fine though hopefully we don't lose another valuable user on the forum. If this goes on for too long then there might be more reasons to worry but I hope it doesn't.

Its probably just the lack of internet I'm guessing. Whats kind of interesting is Iranians can still access Telegram b/c it uses different network ports (or something, I'm not entirely sure). There was some Iranian dudes in a TG chat I'm in asking around for a free VPN, as supposedly the internet can still be accessed via VPN there.

Hm, I am not so sure that all they need is a VPN for Internet access because I have IRL friend from Iran (lives here in EU) who went back to Tehran to visit his family, and I also didn't hear from hime since February 27th, despite him always using VPN.

Afaik, only those with Starlink (which is illegal in Iran) or with special government issued sim cards have access to Internet during times like hese.

In the past, when the internet was accessible, people inside Iran could use a VPN to connect to the outside world. The regime inside Iran has restricted which sites people inside Iran can access, likely including the forum, so it is likely he had to use a VPN to access the internet.

I used to have a positive opinion of him because he always contributed to the forum with his knowledge, but recently, given the situation in his country, he has become very harsh in his comments and avoided answering some of my specific questions about what he was doing while his regime was killing thousands in the streets and arresting them.

The regime inside Iran killed people in their hospital beds if they were believed to have participated in the protests against the government. Thousands of people were killed this way, in addition to people being killed in the streets. So I don't think much can be read into his reluctance to criticize his government.   

Furthermore, his generalization of the Western world as a satanic world that will soon be destroyed is completely unacceptable to me and can be perceived as a direct threat to everyone who doesn't share the same political views as him.

The regime inside Iran benefits when the people inside Iran are unable to have access to the free flow of information. They have a long history of trying to limit the amount of information available to the people inside Iran, although many were able to circumvent these restrictions via VPNs. They did the same thing during the protests against the regime in January. North Korea does the same thing to the people in North Korea for similar reasons -- neither regime wants people inside those countries being able to learn about the freedoms available in the West, and to be able to communicate with eachother about getting those freedoms.

Furthermore, Trump has warned that anyone in the Iranian security forces who does not surrender will face certain death, has asked the people inside Iran to rise up and overthrow their government. The regime inside Iran most certainly does not want the people inside Iran to hear those types of messages.

Take any two articles about damage in Iran and damage in Israel:  The articles about damage in Israel point out a specific villain, assigning blame, while intimating Israeli innocence (laughable as that sounds.)  The articles talking about Iranian damage suggest the damage is spontaneous, deserved, not to be blamed on anyone but simple Karma.  Those whose grey matter is soft enough become conditioned by these tactics.  I've been witnessing it all my life, and they are all based on lies.

Iran didn't have a network of child traffickers used to black mail Western politicians, corporate executives, and media moguls.  Israel did.  How many journalists have the two killed over the last three years?  Which of the two is quickly losing support in the US (hint; one never had it)?

I thought it was the US that managed to shutdown their internet because of what I recently watched where President Trump said something about it. I really feel sorry for people in Iran. From what I see in the news, what’s happening to them right now is terrible. It seems like what Trump said he would do is actually happening.

Aside from afk due to the Iran internet shutdown, let's hope he and his families are okay and is away from those bombed area/shelters and very far away from the targeted area. Seriously it will  be worrisome not for my self but to my families too if i were there in the same situation.

In times of war, people have no choice but to excavate or find a safe place, food and clothing to keep their families and themselves safe until the end of it. I don’t think they have time to check on Bitcointalk.

pooya87 is one of the best users I've met on the forum, it would be really bad if something bad happened to him. I didn't know he lived in Iran. He's a very dear guy.

A government that shuts down the internet arbitrarily and kills protesters cannot be normalized. That's why you should never give up your freedom. Today, the Iranian population is having great difficulty reclaiming its dignity due to the excessive power of Iran's theocracy. People, don't give too much power to a state, it always ends badly.

When I see videos of Iran up until the 70y, showing customs considered normal in any society, women without burkas, free, it makes me sad. If a civilian does things considered "Western", they can even lose their life for it.

My position is that I do not support what the US and Israel are doing, but when you provoke a bear, it will take revenge on you sooner or later. The whole of Iran is plastered with billboards threatening the US, Israel and Western countries with complete destruction, and now the destruction has come to them.

Why can't we all just exist in peace rather than all this chaos? Projectiles flying here and there, pain, tears and blood, terror, just done to inflict injuries and prove dominance... Why?? Everything is going to the fact that those social networks, which were originally supposed to be a place for people from all over the world to communicate, will start to be blocked since the idea did not materialize, according to the governments of different countries, but only brings unrest. Everything you listed is also blocked in my country.

I completely agree with @GxSTxV's post; ordinary people do not want any wars, but the strife of politicians makes those who in no way participate in inciting hatred suffer.

Have you been reading what many people are posting? Most people are wishing Pooya87 well and to my surprise many people also posted good about Iran. I think it is you that is now taking it to a harsh level like an off topic to what we are discussing. If you are referring to what people like PrimeNumber7 posted or what. You do not need to bring something about the war up. This thread is about Pooya87 and not fit in Politics and society. Are you thinking of me among the others? Only a crazy person can have a good opinion about the one who wishes you death and destruction. Besides, those who whine the most are those who will miss his merits, and those who have a very bad opinion of the West but will never write it publicly.

Suddenly stopped when I saw the subject of this post, after exploring it a little I realized that he has not been online for the past few days. I honestly don’t know the situation he is in right now but keep praying that he and his family are safe and doing well. It seems they are passing through a very difficult time and perhaps even struggling between life and death, because missiles are being fired at different important locations which has left many people living in fear. From what it looks like, they may also be completely cut off from internet access and that could be the reason he has not been able to come to the forum.

We may not be able to do anything for him right now, but we can keep him in our prayers and ask God to keep him healthy and safe. If he manages to pass through this difficult time, I believe he will surely return to the forum again. We are patiently waiting and hoping to see him around once more. May Allah protect him and his family, keep them all safe and well.
