I noticed that Pooya87 has not been active since the beginning of the war in Iran. The Isreal and United States are saying they are only targeting military places, but according to what I have been reading on the news, school was hit while civilians are also affected to an extent.

I do not want to create this post, but something is also telling me to post it because Pooya87 is one of this forum valuable members. If anyone know him, please let us know if he is doing fine, or maybe he is going to see this thread notification and post.
I thought it very noble of you to show empathy towards a dear user like pooya87, due to his absence, this shows us that there is humanity in this forum, that despite the majority here not knowing anyone's identity, we end up catching emotional feelings, sympathizing with ideas, the movement that each person represents, recognition and when we miss a some member who is absent for some reason...

All we can do is hope that nothing inconvenient has happened to him all this time and that we see him return active, fostering discussions.

There are so many members who were absent from the forum but returned months or years later, I was absent from the forum for almost 4 years and also disappeared without warning, sometimes due to a change in routine, we end up letting go of participating in a movement without realizing it. I hope with @pooya87 and @hugeblack it's the same case.

I do hope everything is well for him, family and friends and that he will come back around sometime in the near future. I liked his technical knowledge for Bitcoin and cryptography and how he would defend/back Bitcoin in general against the fudsters.

I hope with @pooya87 and @hugeblack it's the same case.
Another notable member who has been offline since 28th Feb is SFR10. I noticed his absence because he usually posts in Service discussion and Service Announcements boards that I also sometimes post in.
He seems to know the Philippines language though. Maybe just offline for other reasons.

I hope that he is ok. Yeah, pooya87 was spreading Iran regime propaganda here and posted lot of lies, but that's not a reason to wish something bad for him or any other civilian affected by war.

Why would they do that?  Who benefits from preventing pooya87 from accessing the internet?

The same people who've been trying to hide the fact that for the last 2.5 years they've been deliberately targeting schools, hospitals, refuge camps, and food distribution gatherings in Gaza, perhaps?  The same people who've refused to allow inspection of their own nuclear program, while Iran's nuclear program has had more international inspections than any other country in history, perhaps?

Western media lies.  Anything reported by western media is almost certainly the opposite of the truth.

I too wish pooya87 the best.  I hope to see him here telling what he's witnessed soon.  But if it's one thing I've learned, many here will refute his own experience and argue with links to western propaganda as if it's their own truth.
So, if Western media will tell that sky is blue, it will be opposite of the truth. Yeah, there is no internet shutdown, all these monitoring websites is lying :
https://netblocks.org/
Don't like Western media? That's ok. Open Russian, Indian or Arabic media, they also wqrite about shutdown. Or it's all lie?
And offcourse, Iran didn't killed thousands of people who protest again regime...

If I'm not mistaken it's not first time when he disappear from Bitcointalk for few weeks.

So, if Western media will tell that sky is blue, it will be opposite of the truth.

I'd feel compelled to go outside and check for myself.

Yeah, there is no internet shutdown, all these monitoring websites is lying :

The question isn't if the internet in Iran is shutdown, the question is who's responsible and who benefits from "The internet in Iran is Shutdown" headlines.  Does Iran's government inflicting pain on it's own people benefit?  Or does the typical Western myth of "totalitarian" dominance by our enemy du jour?

Don't like Western media? That's ok. Open Russian, Indian or Arabic media, they also wqrite about shutdown. Or it's all lie?

It's all biased, but somewhere within the opposing biases is a snippet of truth.  I don't subscribe to any corporation's version of "news," but there are a few journalists I've come to rely on.  The trouble is, when they get too close to uncovering something about Israel they have a tendency to spontaneously combust.

I'd like to kindly suggest not veering off topic into political arguments, and I'm not just talking to you, DireWolfM14, I just quoted your post as it was the last one and is just asking for a response from another member with opposing views.

There are so many members who've vanished from the forum since I've been here, and honestly I don't think I would have noticed 90% of them had there not been threads like this one.  Never have I met anyone from this forum in person, though I've had off-forum communications with a few.  But even if those people stopped posting for a prolonged period of time, I'd just attribute to burnout or a declining interest in bitcoin or real-life issues taking precedence over bitcointalk.  It happens.

But pooya87 being from Iran....well, I do hope he's alright.

I hope he is safe

This days it's easier to get esims with internet data on them, a little brother of mine was sharing free eSIM that's giving out 15GB for 2 weeks free for users to test their service.

I hope Pooya87 can find something similar, they are not really hard to set up, just a simply qr code scan and the service will be up and running, I hope that innocent people in Iran won't pay for the curse of war because there is a saying that when the sinners are facing their karma it's possible that the innocents will also be affected too.

My prayers goes out to all innocent souls in Iran, may the almighty God keep them safe.

It's not about getting alternatives here, it's safe to obey government order in a situation like this.

Moreover, lovesmayfamilis shared a link in the first page https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5576675.msg66485540#msg66485540 that government warned citizens whom might attempt to bypass the restriction through VPN.

pooya87 safety is more important now than bypassing the government restriction to come online and risk being prosecuted for breaking their protocol. It's not actually worth it. The only thing that matters now is his safety which we all hope for.
