While others might not want to encourage you I will, if there is any possible way that you can get this person arrested then do it, make sure you don't go after him without proper security or just let the cop do their jobs.

Safety first, don't forget this, there are dangerous criminals out there who are also trying to make a living and they don't care about who stands in their way, they are always ready to crush anyone, coming from what I have seen in the past here in my own country.

Enough Evidence as the second, I don't know where you are from but in my country evidence is the only way to confuse the cops here.

Many people have become a victim of these useless people, that have ruined alot of lives by scamming for a living, I would do the same of I am in your shoe.

thanks for the support , i am from france, i can get evidence by getting him to say on audio that its real usdt sol and not a copy but the hardest part is getting the cops to understand what is even fake and real crypt

and thenn they have to also explain to a prosecutor to get an authorisation to catch him in the act, that really wont be easy but i will try

I am pretty sure France was one of the countries where recording a call or a private conversation was illegal.  It would be smart to find out if this is true if you intend to use an audio recording of a private conversation to catch him.

There are many variables making your case more difficult.  Once again, you are giving out a lot of details about the case.  It is not a bad idea unless you are meeting him up for a one to one conversation.  Fuck the fake USDT, make your Safety the priority.

im back

so at 11am i called the guy on his whatsapp so i can get an idea of what kind of person im dealing with using his voice, vocabulary ,etc

so i was hearing his loud indian family talking in the background ( must be like 9 of them in a small goverment housing appartment)

one thing that i got wrong is that he is indian but born in the UK not france  i could tell from how entitled and arrogant he sounded and also he didnt have the accent like indians

but was making massive french grammar errors that someone who s born here couldnt have made,

,physicaly i would say he is between 23/30 , tall, lean, smokes a lot and a coward but that i already knew.

i asked to reschedule the meeting to a few days later (because i need some times to arrange for the cops or friends to be here to trap him)

he agreed and then he hanged up ,

10 min latter he start texting

translation:

him (you wasted my time, you are a scammer right ?)

                  me: no ?

him: dirty son of a *

                  me: answer the phone

                  him: you want scam me

me : use ur brain if i wanted to scam you i would have came

after that i call him trying to save the situation, he curses some more and at some point he starts threatening me and saying " you dont know who you're dealing with you will see what happens"

then i sayd oh you want to come here ? great ( and that was a big mistake i should have acted a bit scared like "oh no dont come i dont want any problems"

cause when he heard how happy i was that he was going to come at my location he understood that he was the one being hunted  and not the other way around, so he calmed down and sayd "no im going to report you"

then he kept cursing in the chat but ignored my calls....

so long story short the skinny lazy indian scammer got away ahhhh its so frustrating it would have been a nice video if i caught him

but i know its not over they are still doing that scam and they will dm one of my accounts again without knowing its me

Since you already noticed it's a scam transaction the person is initiating, why don't you just ignore him and go about your normal business. I won't advise you to go in search of the scammer as you might end up wasting your time and resources. If you really want to expose him, the best you can do is get some of his details and publish it online to raise awareness so people will know the kind of shady business he does. Just look for a way to extract some personal details of him while the transaction is ongoing without him suspecting. Going to attack the scammer physically might lead to other bigger issues you might not see coming.

here we can see the fake usdt not adding into the real balance but creating a new line, im 100% sure its the case again because the guy dm me the exact same way " hi selling 10000usdt but sol network"

The "fake token" scam on Solana is becoming a real plague because of how cheap it is to mint a new token with the same name and icon. Good catch on noticing the separate line in the wallet balance — that's the most reliable red flag.

Regarding your "side quest" for revenge: honestly, the best lesson you can teach him is to waste as much of his time as possible without sending a single cent. These guys operate on volume, and every hour he spends trying to "convince" you is an hour he isn't scamming someone less experienced. Don't risk your own safety or legal status trying to get him arrested in person; just expose his wallet addresses and telegram handle in the Scams board to burn his reputation

any suggestions ?
Because you may have already experienced cases of such scam attempts more than once, there is a possibility that in the future you will also receive similar scam attempts again. But maybe in a different way. They target you with the same scheme, but they could also come with a new scheme. You need to be careful.

It is difficult to track people like this; the most important thing is to be cautious whenever making transactions. Even if you can uncover the perpetrator's identity through social media or other means, it does not necessarily guarantee that you can block them. What we can do most at this time is to make more people aware of being careful when transacting.

I will advise you leave the person and let the matter go as far he did not scam you, this kind of thing happen to many of us during some deal when we want to sell or buy, we can never escape scammers as long as we are doing things online because that is where they take advantage of us, the only to never fall into their traps is to be careful and be smart in whatever we are doing, if you want to set the person up and arrest him it is very dangerous because you don’t know what the person is also up to, you might be planning to arrest him and he may be planning to do something else, maybe coming to meet you with something robbed you, it will be better if you let the matter go and be careful next time.

so for context i buy and sell crypto with a commisions as a side hustle and im 100% sure this customer is trying to sell fake usdt on the solana network.
Scammers have become much smarter now compared to before because they have completely changed the way they carry out their scams. It happens a lot during normal buying and selling, where scammers attack users in such a way that ordinary users may not even notice what is going on. Especially on Telegram, there used to be many news and reports about different scams. I have also come across some of them myself but luckily I didn’t become a victim. If someone wants to stay in the crypto space, they must remain careful and alert so that they don’t fall into any kind of scam.

You have to be more careful when it comes to buying and selling so that scammers don’t get any chance to influence you. Since you are already in the crypto space, you should be very familiar with the USDT logo. Because of that, whenever you want to make a transaction, make sure you check everything properly before going ahead with it. In general, you just have to stay alert from every angle so that no scammer will get the opportunity to scam you.

This is the reason why I stopped doing this ( helping folks to convert their usdt to fiat ). I had the customer that usually send me some usdt I should convert for him , so during dealing the he sent a particular amount of usdt, and the money didn’t appear on my wallet . So I was like maybe fee just congested , after while he began to demand for his money in a very harsh tone .

I was so surprise cause this is not the first time we are actually dealing , so I was like what may have happened. So I told him to send me the hash id of the transaction he refused. That’s when things began to get suspicious, so I had to copy his wallet address and pasted it on explorer , so I found out that the coin he sent was fake , a test coin you can only see but cannot be transferred because is fake , I was pissed and I told had to threaten him before he confessed, and he was apologizing since that day I have  stopped .

Some scammers deserved to be put in their place, I'm not saying OP need to follow him but if there is any way to teach him a lesson, he should try and make him regret the actions. I don't think anyone smart will fall for the scam though, the scam is too local, with what I have learnt from Tether, if a stable coin impersonating the real stable coin on etherscan, they do flag it with red Asterix sign to warn people, it will be better if OP also report the smart contract.

This is one of the reasons I don't like open trade, we have many alternatives to trade and covert stablecoins for fiat. For people that like centralized exchanges, we have many of them. Instead of looking for customers and end up with this scams, become a verified merchant and get customers at your door step, that is if you don't mind about Kyc verification and privacy thing, you may also try decentralize places but volume are low and customers turnup is low.

The most dangerous thing to do is to allow scammers to maintain a steady communication line with you, because some scammers can be out of this world and possibly employ another means to influence your mind and push you to make a payment before you even realise it's a scam.

Your advice to the ops is fact, and the earlier he ignores the scammer the better, since he already senses and confirmed that the USD balance is fake.

Other reasons too are, since you ate already aware of how they operate, their is no harm trying to protect some potential victims from getting scammed buy that particular scammers you might not have falling for it but who knows what will happen when they try same pattern with another person and the next person one innocent person will fall victim, assuming you where successful with your tactic you could have gotten one scammer off the street and he could also have lead you to others once's he's under the custody of the authorities.

These scammers always employ so many method to scam mainly because the scamming activity has been industrialized. There are tons of these scammers from dusting attack, phishing, to a scam calls.

They are willing to spent so much time creating new account with convincing story simply because it's profitable for them, I've realized at some point that dealing with these scammers are such waste of time that I just blocked them outright.

any suggestions ?
Thing that i occasionally did what that i wasted their time as much as possible in most hilarious way as possible to make content. That way they might think twice in the future when their scam won't pay enough for their working hours.

These days they are using AI to chat with you so they won't even get tired, but greed is hell of a motivation, so you likely get them to drop AI and work for that money (that they will never get).

I have made someone to wait days, and i come back with a story so incredible that it's borderline insane, that i needed to resolve bit by bit with them. Like involving a bear attack and family drama.

But you can drag them along very far, until they snap. One of the best ways i annoyed them was when i tried to get them to instruct me doing things and acted that i had no idea what i was doing. I didn't mention that i was supposedly using an ancient software, or restricted machine.

Time is money, for you as well, so try to use least amount of it as possible. But during that time you can spend as being silly as possible, so you at least amuse yourself with the process.

They are willing to spent so much time creating new account with convincing story simply because it's profitable for them, I've realized at some point that dealing with these scammers are such waste of time that I just blocked them outright.
Assuming they have not been getting rewards for all their hard work, they could have given up since, and the number of scammers on the street could have reduced, but because there are still people falling victim to their new and upgraded scam pattern, they will keep on coming. Sometimes if I don't have a busy schedule and I get a dm from some of them, I just follow up to see what pattern they really want to use on me; that way I get more experience to share.

I mean.
I understand you want to teach a lesson to this scammer about going round the internet trying to steal others with the slightest opportunity they get to do so.

Unfortunately, I agree with some of the people in this thread, there is nothing you can realistically do in order to stop that guy from scamming people. Just ignore him and warn as many people as possible within your circle of traders, costumers and family members which use Cryptocurrencies.

Just inform and move on.
There are thousands of people like that one.

There are simply too many gullible victims in this world, if they are trying to brute force, making a trap everywhere to scam people, eventually they will find some gullible people.
The dusting attack that's supposedly to be easy to ignore are still still extracting millions of dollars from victim in this big 2026. Since there seems to be unlimited amount of scammers, you know there are still tons of people falling victim and losing money.

That’s when things began to get suspicious, so I had to copy his wallet address and pasted it on explorer , so I found out that the coin he sent was fake , a test coin you can only see but cannot be transferred because is fake , I was pissed and I told had to threaten him before he confessed, and he was apologizing since that day I have  stopped .

you shouldnt stop doing business just because of scammers, learn to filter them and keep going

ahahaha yes i should also do that for scammers that are online and record them losing their mind like the classic " why did you redeeemmm it mam"

but i think i was sucessful in atleast making him mad cause look what i got in my telegram inbox yesterday
