Hello BitcoinTalk Community,

I am excited to introduce Gravity, a Bitcoin-anchored attestation infrastructure that produces deterministic cryptographic receipts for externally supplied artifacts and securely anchors these receipts to the Bitcoin blockchain for independent verification.

What is Gravity?

Gravity provides a way to anchor cryptographic proofs of data, ensuring the verifiability and immutability of externally supplied data and artifacts. It uses Bitcoin's proof-of-work consensus to anchor checkpoint hashes to the Bitcoin blockchain, providing a globally accessible, trustless verification of data’s existence at a given point in time.

How it Works

External Artifact: Data or events submitted to the system for verification.

Gravity Receipt Engine: The system that generates a cryptographic receipt for the data.

Checkpoint Hash: A cryptographic commitment to the receipt, committed periodically to the Bitcoin blockchain.

Bitcoin Blockchain: The ultimate anchor, ensuring the receipt cannot be altered.

Key Features

Deterministic: Same input data results in the same cryptographic output, ensuring no ambiguity.

Verifiable: Anyone can independently verify the receipt against the Bitcoin blockchain.

Immutable: Once anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain, the data’s existence is forever guaranteed.

Use Cases

Auditing: Proving that certain events or data existed at a given time.

Compliance: Ensuring that external data complies with legal or regulatory standards.

Certification: Providing cryptographic proof that an event or artifact existed.

Why Bitcoin?

Gravity leverages Bitcoin's decentralized and immutable blockchain to ensure the historical integrity of attested data. By anchoring receipts to the Bitcoin blockchain, Gravity provides an additional layer of trustlessness, ensuring that no one can modify the historical record once it’s anchored.

Conclusion

Gravity is designed to provide robust and verifiable proof for external events, ensuring that all data can be independently verified through cryptographic and blockchain mechanisms. With Bitcoin as the foundation, Gravity brings deterministic infrastructure to a new level.
