Can someone explain why moderators remove topics that dont break the rules?

I am new to the forum and trying to figure out how it works. I notice moderators are involved and I thought it would be cool to be a moderator. Why would my first topic get removed? I thought it was a fair topic and did not break any rules. It's not possible that the moderator removes a topic without a reason.

Maybe you should ask yourself first, if you go against the rules or your posting pattern is questionable, you either have your topic deleted or be moved to off-topic as the case may be, while any of these could be experienced when you go against the normal standard.

Obviously you are not new here. Maybe you are trying to troll around, and therefore such posts get deleted especially for a "newbie" who decided to choose officialmoderator as a username and the first post is about forum politics.

Stay on topic, post in appropriate boards, avoid trolling and low quality posts and see if they will get deleted. Better still just use your other main account. There's no point of fighting "a war" using an alt account. Everyone will just look at what you are posting as a joke.

The thread wasn't removed; rather, I can see the thread has moved to the archival. From my personal perspective, the thread should belong to Meta. Because it's a forum-related topic, anyone would be curious to know how the moderator system works and would create a thread. Since the thread moved from the Meta, I believe the moderator hasn't moved by mistake.

But OP should get banned due to username. Newbies would be confused by seeing username.

Even if you have a sincere desire to become a moderator, you are years and thousands of good reports away from it. New moderators are very rarely appointed, at least that's been my observation since I've been a member of this forum.

That topic was archived because it doesn't add any value to the community and as a beginner you are I don't think that should be your major focused on interest in the forum. At first you should be looking at getting yourself acquainted with the rules and how the forum works more better, because I know after that what you would be asking is how you could get merit to rank up so the admin did well to have archived your post.

I still can not understand what you mean by you will like to be a moderator, like I don't understand? Or anyone can just pick up a gadget with internet source open an account and start saying he wants to be a moderator like are you really serious or just kidding?

Every labourer deserves his pay, yes offcurses they are being paid for their service. However to the best of my knowledge moderators are like the supervisors here in the forum, perhaps they over sees every activities that is been carried out here and they ensure things are properly done (moderators ensure rules are been followed).

I think that post belong to Meta, but why not just send PM to the moderator in charge of Meta instead to know the reason? You can send a global moderator the message but I think the moderator in charge of beginners and help is also doing some work on Meta.

I don’t think moderator just remove topic for whatsoever reason, which is why it will be important and necessary to understand that this platform has a rule that governs this place and moving a post must be for a reason, is either the topic doesn’t meet the guidelines of creating post, or probably the topic is what they call off topic, sometimes you create a topic that makes so much sense, but unfortunately it’s being created at the wrong place, so it will have obviously be moved to the off-topic, because the topic itself is an off topic, I think there is a thread where you can always read about this things and understand how it works before opening a topic as well, I have previously created some topic but it was also moved to off-topic because it didn’t meet the guideline of the discussion.

You clearly state your interest in the topic, which is inconsistent with the following:

• This forum currently has no openings for new moderators;
• There are no fixed requirements for becoming a moderator; it's entirely up to the admins (or a vote on a hidden board);
• Such topics shouldn't be an individual submission, but rather collective requests or admin initiatives to appoint a member.

That's why your topic is archived. Perhaps if a mod is needed and applications open to the public (afaik, it never has), your topic will be restored.

I think I just realized whats going on here... Howard probably got temp banned for continual rule violations and he created this account to exact his revenge.

With theymos username, forum members typed it not accurately many times like thermos for example but reading it, people mostly knew the poster wanted to mention the forum head admin.

any name written in a manner that can attack is a name to be eyed to see if it is used like

BraiinsStoleMyBlock uses his name.
 ie making a false accusation over and over again.

especially if the guy always said hey theymos what happened to the btc in address ?

what was done here by officialmoderator  could be more testing by bots how to attack the website.
