Winning is hard, why not quit?

What really made me create this thread is because I still can't figure out why people who lose often can't quite gambling or take a break even when they know that they can't win to recover their money.

That is why everyone especially people starting gambling out for the first time to gamble with money you can lose comfortably but ofcourse not everyone listens and the majority will bet with money they cant comfortably lose which will trigger that addictive urge to want to get it back by gambling with more uncomfortable money becuase now you are certain you will get your money back and then some more to cover your original lose. This is typicallly how the addiction starts and before you know it thats all the person just does daily.

But like any activity, the risk is present, in gambling it is greater.

Yes, everything in life entails a risk on our part, maybe we just don't know it, but there could be decisions that we did take the risk and it ends up well for us. But for gambling, it's a different risk as there are money and you don't have any mitigation or plan B.

Unless you are satisfied of your winnings or just playing safe with the money that you can afford to lose. But there are big gamblers, maybe it's their personality to go YOLO on certain games, all-in the bigger the risk for them, the bigger the reward.

If you know how gambling works you will know the reason why gamblers doesn’t despite losses.

Gambling function is to provide entertainment while casino put house edge on their games as fees for providing games. Technically, the majority of players will lose and it’s not a secret but still many gamblers are playing because they enjoy betting for a chance to win and get entertainment.

Those money that lose give chance for players to win. The experience of having a chance to win is what they are paying even though they lose the most.

It hardly before you see gambler forfeit gambling, they will complain to you but still continue to gambling, so gambler complain is nothing for me, and you dont need to allow their complain to deceive you...

It's obvious that if a gambler complain to you, it will still proceed to gamble without your consent...Every gambler have a target, except it's a gambler that doesn't have target and also been addicted..they're the one that can't afford to gamble in a day...but someone who is gamble with target can afford 2 or 4 days without participating in the gambling.

Quiting Gambling can be very hard for gamblers because they will not want to stop because of the time and efforts they have put into gambling. There is no way you will want to do it when you are having hope that one day you are going to be profitable while gambling. Not all will be panicking when they have to quit gambling and their are gamblers that will not hesitate to leave gambling alone since they have been frustrated and do not know what to do about their lives gambing every day without any result.

I’m a long time gambler but quitting for me will not consider my time and effort dedicated on gambling since there’s no save progress on my gambling career. I can quit it no string attached to my previous experience since it doesn’t matter on my game.

The only thing I consider that’s why I continuously playing is I’m having playing it even if I lose sometimes.

Those who gamble for entertainment can quit at any time unless they become addicted. However, most people who gamble for money find it difficult to overcome the lure of this money. Although it is difficult to get out of addiction, it is not impossible if you have a strong mindset. Those who accept losses  at first are aware of and can control their long-term aggressive gambling. But those who do not care about losses and do not accept losses realize their mistakes only after they have suffered losses in the long term. Therefore, those who accept reality and understand and are careful can quickly get out of the gambling cycle.

Once you have developed a habit of something, it is difficult to stay away from it. In this case, those who have suffered tolerable losses can never completely give up gambling. Maybe they play with a small amount. But those who have suffered a large economic loss. Due to the influence of gambling, they lost family and society and their respect then they come to a point where they completely stay away from gambling. Because they may think that if they start gambling again, they will become addicted again like before. The main point here is that those who have lost less or are in a somewhat profitable situation cannot quit gambling.

It is also possible that the person just make his gambling session a tool to pass the time and it has been the person's habit to do so in regular habit.  Whether the person win or lose is out of the question since he is playing for entertainment.

That said, people who are into gambling for entertainment won't bother about whether it is hard to win or not.  They will continue to gamble until they don't want to play the game anymore.

Without doing any research I can actually say that gamblers that are benefiting from gamble in aspect of winning their bet are lower than the gamblers that are losing their bet because there's no guarantee to win any game except the gambler is lucky, which makes me believe that losers are more than the winners..

Losers are more than winners in gambling, that is how casinos can make profits while running the business effectively. And you are right, if winning is hard, why not quit? Most gamblers wont quit because they are addicted, while other gamblers believe one day they will hit it big. A few percent of gamblers left are either having little wins to balance their loss, or they have accepted their fate, expecting one day they will hit a jackpot. The difference here is the mindset and what they believe is possible to them.

Thats true, because indeed when we decide to gamble then we must be prepared to lose in other words we can accept defeat so the behavior that is done when you have lost is to accept it and leave not by returning to betting or not giving up. As you say the risk in gambling is great, it is true, that's why we must be able to accept defeat, because the behavior of not being able to accept defeat is a mistake that can plunge us into deeper gambling (addiction).
 
To be precise i think it is not giving up but stopping, if giving up leads to those who gamble with the aim of pursuing profit and actually that is not recommended, if by stopping this is better heard and for people who gamble wisely they will be able to stop when they have lost or even when they have benefited. Giving up here, as I understand it, means that behind it is the behavior of pursuing victory.

That’s one reason people don’t quit easily, the challenge of winning keeps pulling them back. It’s hard for sure, but not impossible, and every time we experience a near win it increases the excitement even more. If I relate it to my own experience, I’m still chasing that big win I’ve always dreamed about. Even with the losses it doesn’t really stop me, I still make sure I have a small budget for gambling almost like it’s part of my regular spending.

No regrets though, because I still enjoy it. Of course there are times I feel disappointed, but that’s just part of the experience.

You are totally right, this reason keeps giving most gamblers hope of not quitting gambling, even though there are ups and down in it, which they keep playing but one thing is for sure, which is the longer the stay, the more easy they will become addicted and that is not a good approach towards gambling as it will never yield out any good in one's life but will cause one more spending which will eventually lead them to become bankrupt and might also destroy their future, if care is not taken.

The common reason why many gamblers can't quit even after loss is because of their hope to recover their money. Thinking for every session, there's a possibility to win, which is true at some point. But it doesn't mean you can recover back the past losses, because having such goal can only lead to addiction without the gambler getting notice that he/she is becoming uncontrollable already.

You don't have to quit as long as you know your limit, otherwise it can really cause serious problem (addiction) in the long run.

That is the thing though, when those gamblers who have lost money consider to quit, then don't think about the low chances they have to make all their money back and all the reasonable points for them to quit and take a long rest from gambling. They actually think there is still a very possible way (non-zero chance) to break even against the casino and withdraw their money.

And they are not wrong, there is always a chance to make money. They focus on those positive chances instead of paying attention to what brought them where they are and move on.

Quitting becomes an option and is not mandatory when someone loses in gambling. There are other reasons why they cannot quit. One of them is because of the ease of access. When you can easily access your favorite gambling site or sports bookie on your phone, the urge to gamble also lingers.
A gambler might say that he will just play for the last time, and in the process, add more to the pile of losses. This means he might come back next time to say the same thing to himself and try again. As long as the purpose is to get revenge or to seek an ROI, I don't think the cycle will stop.

Gambling is a game of win and lose, so even if one loses in gambling it doesn't make one to quit gambling,  especially if you are gambling with the amount that you can afford to lose. Gambling is a game of luck and players needs to have patience in order to be lucky to win. Since gambling winning is not certain one just to be patience.

When quiting is advisable is when a gambler is gambling more than that can be afford to lose. Patience is very important in gambling,  when it is not their one will have no choice than to just quit. But gambling is a game that continues even if when you are not lucky.
