If the losing gambler knew that he would lose again on the next bet, he would not bet. If he also knew that he would probably not win again on the day he made all the bets he had made and had lost several times, he would stop there. The expectation of winning keeps gamblers alive and tempts them to bet again and again.

That's just it, no one would know what the future entails, otherwise no one would ever make mistake. Although it is certain that all gamblers knows that they will lose but they just keep trying their luck. What makes gambling what it is, is because it is unpredictable despite we claim to predict. So if gambling where to be predicted accurately or if people knew they where going to loose, nobody will gamble. because the loser are more than the winners.
