That's just it, no one would know what the future entails, otherwise no one would ever make mistake. Although it is certain that all gamblers knows that they will lose but they just keep trying their luck. What makes gambling what it is, is because it is unpredictable despite we claim to predict. So if gambling where to be predicted accurately or if people knew they where going to loose, nobody will gamble. because the loser are more than the winners.

Someone who is not gambling to make money and become rich overnight, or gambling because they see it as a source of income, they can not control their emotions most of the time and gambling will always mess with their psychological state because they took it so serious more than they should not have. Some people lacks focus in whatever ever they are doing unless they have gambled. Such person could be fighting with addiction that can't stop unless they help themselves by seeking the right solution.

Being in this situation is incredibly distressing. I was in a position where I was hoping for a big win after a significant loss in the past. I lost control of my gambling for several months, leading to addiction, and I refused to accept it. Lucky for me, because I can save myself from addiction. I found the right solution and successfully stopped my addiction. It wasn't easy, and even now, when I gamble, I often lose control, but with the solution I have, I can reduce the potential for losing more money.

It is really good news that you have been able to protect yourself from the addiction and you have found a right way to keep yourself in control. Basically the only way to stay away from gambling is to keep yourself busy because when you have an emotion towards gambling, if you cannot keep yourself busy with something else, then you will not be able to stay away from gambling. Idle time will lead you to bad addiction again and again because although gambling harms us financially, it is a place of great joy, so if you live a lazy life, you will never be able to stay away from gambling if you once have an emotion towards gambling.

This is exactly what I call the “cycle of gambling” where the gambler would be kept on an endless cycle of winning/losing regardless of the result he/she may face.

Most gamblers that are too focused on viewing it as a means of income would most likely fall into this cycle. In order to at least avoid being too addicted, changing perspective and seeing it as a means of entertainment can be both helpful and tolerable at the same time.

It is a kind of mental effort and psychological game that you can win on the next bet but in reality you are losing.

Just to add, this is also the reason on why you should set your expectations whenever you gamble. Of course, every gambler has the dream of winning and hitting the jackpot but this is too far from reality given the chances of doing so.

Having a realistic expectation and limiting your expenses are recommended to the point that every gambler should know and practice this kind of mental preparation.

If I know I will lose, I will definitely stay away from it. As a gambler, expectations are one thing that might make you greedy.  Gambling is a game of luck; like this whole season, it has been very different from the time I have been watching and following sport. You can barely predict and get a win, but if, as a gambler, you are gambling for fun, it won't get you overthinking but just enjoying everything that plays out.

How someone knows that he will lose or win in next attempt? 
Sure, the chance of losses is higher but there is no way that we can claim someone must lose in the next bet. If someone knows that he will lose, he must stop and never bet again. Yep, the probability of win or lose that make people keep playing gambling. As long as there is a chance to win, people will continue to gamble. Even the chance to win is rather low.

They limit themselves within a limit so that they do not exceed it. It is a kind of mental effort and psychological game that you can win on the next bet but in reality you are losing.

Ideally, any gambler must set a limit (funds/time). Sure, it is intended to avoid an excessive gambling. Since it is a physiological game, we can do it in a random way (careless way). We are human, we can be emotional. If we never set a limit, we possibly turn to be an excessive gambling at any time.

Though, that is why there are so many gamblers, because they have initial expectations of getting money of their session.
No gambler walks into a casino without having the expectation to win either money or entertainment, you know?

And the majority of gamblers initially seek to get money in exchange of their time in casinos and also bookies.
Also, it is kind of crazy how there are so many gamblers who are unaware of the existence of the house edge, it is a good example how ignorance and greed combine together and make people lose more money than they can afford to lose.
