Honestly, I never think about how many wins and losses I've had while gambling. Sometimes I win one week and lose another, and so on, so I don't know for sure whether I'm winning or losing more.

There are however more people losing more than the few people are winning more than they are losing. Which is a long way of saying that on average people are losing cash more often than the occasional person who walks away with a win. When you say a decent number of people are profiting, you make it sound as if the numbers are high compared to the number of gamblers who are not profiting.
