I may not like BRC-20, but I'm going to make an archive of all those links.

See you around.

See you around.

What I find upsetting is that a known spammer/attacker/grifter actually has a home on what I though was a bitcoin forum. And most of you have no problem with this at all.

Galois also posts on the Google Devs mailing list.

Yes, today, shitcoiners and spammers feel right at home on bitcoin venues. Even bitcoin meetups are peppered with shitcoiners.

Hopefully BIP110, and the Cat, and other anti-spam proposals will make it clear - these grifters are not welcomed in the bitcoin spaces.

Fucking shitcoiner. You have no idea what you are fucking with, how important bitcoin is to the world.

No, all you care about is your stoopit shitcoin scams.

Bitcoin is decentralized censorship resistant money. "Hey let's turn it into a dickbutt hosting app"

Fucking retards.

This is your legacy - attempting to destroy money and turn it into your next scam.

So you write code? I'm sorry, I didn't know that. Of course, if you write code, that means you can do no wrong. Right? Right!!!

He's a troll and doesn't speak for all of us.

Neither do I when I say I don't care for BRC-20, or anything that attracts characters like Leonidas, yet I still respect those who experiment for the sake of creating something new.

In any case, apologies that your farewell thread was immediately attacked by trolls.

This right here is what's wrong with the bitcoin community and this forum.

15 years ago, Satoshi indicated we should be hostile, even tyrannical against spam, grift, and attacks.
Today, some in the community actually make room for spammers and even defend them

He found a way to post absolute garbage on bitcoin, and I'm the troll here?

Back in 2017 when Vitalik Buterin wanted to post all sorts of data on chain and "interesting new use cases", we kindly told him to go pound sand. And as he left to build ETH he famously said "I did not want to build on a base protocol whose dev team would be at war with me."

Good news Vitalik, you can come back now. It looks like they are ready to such your cock now and allow you to do all those scams and shitcoinery on bitcoin.

What you consider to be spam another man considers to be gold.

Back in 2017 when Vitalik Buterin wanted to post all sorts of data on chain and "interesting new use cases", we kindly told him to go pound sand. And as he left to build ETH he famously said "I did not want to build on a base protocol whose dev team would be at war with me."

You're off by 3 years -- I remember it better than you do. If by "we told him to go pound sand" you mean Luke Jr and to a lesser extent Jeff Garzik (and only those two), then yes that's what happened. There is no "we" as you weren't there. Around that time Luke-Jr was also attempting to unilaterally impose address blacklists in bitcoin-qt, which is what actual censorship looks like.

Good news Vitalik, you can come back now. It looks like they are ready to such your cock now and allow you to do all those scams and shitcoinery on bitcoin.

And this is why nobody honest on either side of the debate will take you seriously. You're all emotional appeal and no substance.

It is funny to see we still have trolls who don't read meaning into a life contribution. Even if others go against whatever protocol and creation @Galoisfield has made,it is an achievement that some benefit from and it shows a successful developer who was busy about his business and time.
Although this farewell thread seems to be like a death note, I doubt it is but sort of a retirement from a life dedicated to coding and making the Blockchain have meaning.

Appreciate the kind words, and thanks again to @nutildah for stepping in, as well as @NotATether for archiving the work.

Just to keep things clear on the technical side:

This isn’t a DoS. These are valid, fee-paying transactions accepted by the network — that’s simply blockspace usage.

Disagreeing with a use case is fair. Redefining it as an attack is not.

Bitcoin does not enforce intent.
It enforces validity.

All the best.

This isn’t a DoS. These are valid, fee-paying transactions accepted by the network — that’s simply blockspace usage.

When faced with the idea of Lady Gaga videos on the chain, Satoshi said this: "That's one of the reasons for transaction fees.  There are other things we can do if necessary."

You would do well to understand fees should not be the only filter. And you would also do well to understand Satoshi was not concerning himself with the the question "Is the Lady Gaga video paying miner fees? Is the Lady Gaga video a consensus valid?"

Satoshi understood that bitcoin is not for Lady Gaga videos, bitcoin is money. And he understood that if your spam doesn't pay it's miner fees and your spam is not consensus valid, your spam doesn't get in a block and it's not a problem for anyone.

The problem here is that you found a way to make your spam pay a miner fee, and you found a way to make your spam  consensus valid.

Bitcoin is money, bitcoin is not jpegs and scams such as your retarded BRC tokens.

Redefining it as an attack is not (fair).

Fair enough, I apologize for calling you an attacker. I should have said you are a spammer, a scammer, and a grifter.

Now let me make this clear
The first filter for spam is the social layer.
When these fucking scammers show up in a bitcoin space, you don't pull a chair for them. You don't make them feel at home on bitcoin.

You tell them to go fuck themselves. You make sure they understand they are not welcome on bitcoin

You do not talk about their scams as if they are "interesting use cases". You should be as a firm and as impolite as possible.

They offer NOTHING to the bitcoin space. They are attackers, scammers, grifters, spammers.

The world doesn't need decentralized jpegs or tokens or stamps or whatever bullshit these psychopaths will come up with next.

The world needs honest money. Don't let these fucking retards ever think they are welcome in bitcoin spaces.
