I think in a country like Nigeria, our government should be blamed for this global crisis that is affecting the price of petrol and other products in the country.  Nigeria is an oil producing country,  so I don't think we should be affect, rather it should be of benefit to Nigeria.  The government is suppose to plan for a time like this, imagine removing fuel subsidy and we don't even have enough working refinery in the country.  The money gotten from subsidy removal should have been channeled to build or fix old refineries, so we don't have to refine our oil out of the country.  Aside from Dangote refinery, I don't think we can boast of 3 working refineries in the country,  so we still refine our oil outside of the country and that is why this is affecting us. I blame the government for not making plans for a time like this, because we should be among the countries benefitting from this crisis,  rather we are now suffering from it.

You have just spoken my mind and everything you have said is just the simple truth, if we don't blame the government who then are we going to blame is it me or you that is not in control of the mineral resources in this country? You are absolutely right about your opinion a country with such rich mineral resources can't be suffering and lack the resources that we have in abundance and it's such a shame that we are still crying and buying fuel at a higher rate from oversees, something shouldn't be heard of and this is one of them that we have what we can't judiciously use freely due to bad government.

The government don't need to build any other refinery to refine oil for us because we have three refineries already, and those one should be rehabilitated and make it work, the money gotten from the subsidy should be channeled into renovating those refineries and make it useful, that's the only way forward to ending fuel scarcity and buying it at higher rate.

We have more than three refineries in Nigeria if we also add those ones that's own by private entities, so building more is a misusing of the country's funds because they cannot abandon the existing refineries they have already built. Even if the government doesn't starts using all of them but if they use one or two functioning refineries to reduce the fuel prices they can achieve it because is not only Dangote refineries that's working because I think Edo States also have so is actually enough for people to start buying fuel cheep in this country. Meanwhile I heard Port Harcourt refineries is very large, we could imagine how it would have supported our economy if it was working.

So we think that the government do not know what they are doing? Those guys are just playing politics with the minds of Nigerians, if Tinubu government have a good plan for Nigeria in terms of revamping our refineries, he would have done that by now but the cabal and himself would not allow such plan to go through, the reason Nigerians are facing economic hardship was as the result of his decion to remove subsidy and non of the promises he made to nigerians has been fulfilled, is just that Nigerians are too patient and as a result of that politicians see us finish, we have LNG and we are still cooking gas very costly, we have about 4 refineries that Nigeria owned refineries, but non is operational and they keep employing people in NNPC, so what are they doing there? Nigeria is actually a country of a particular concern according to Trump.

A country like Nigeria that produces petroleum shouldn't be lacking petroleum or even waiting for any country to refine it for them when we have the resources to source for those things, Dangote is one of the individual that is making things difficult for Nigerians because he hikes the prices of his goods and since he is a sole merchant in the production of so many commodity in the country people are bound to buy his products, now look at the prices of cement in the country that is produced here by Dangote and the limestone he uses is gotten from this country yet we can't buy cement due to high price.

The government takes all the blames because they are not making policies that will enhance growth and development in the country, imagine having refineries and they are not working instead an individual that the government is richer than now builds a refinery and be selling refined products to us, is that not a shame of a country?, when they would have rehabilitate the ones we have and make it functional.

Nigerian being an oil producing country, one would think she will benefit from the rise in oil prices. But we are also suffering the same faith as the once who don't have oil in their own country. But hey, na niaja we dey. Another thing is that, even at that, we are not prepared to anything. The government lacks the  preparedness to absorb the suffering just to make citizens ok in the hard times. Just a useless government eating the citizens sweat and not rewarding the citizens.

That's is the exact problem we have in this country, because considering the fact that Nigerian has crude oil that is enough to produce fuel for the entire nation and gas for cooking, but due to greed and selfishness of a few elite who are in the petroleum industry then decided to cripple our refineries so that they can keep importing fuel and keep charging exhobitant prices for the citizens, because for me, I see no reason why this fight against the United States of America vs Iran would have affected us in any way if all our Refineries were working, most especially the Port Harcourt and Warri Refineries, since they are in the Niger Delta, even if the Kaduna own was not working, because this two would have served the country sufficiently enough, than relying on external products. But yet, this government and the previous keep ignoring and embezzling funds meant for that project.

Nigeria is known to be an oil state on paper, because they are not benefiting at all, simply because they have used all our natural resources as a collateral for all the loans they are carrying, that is why international monetary funds and World Bank are dictating to us on how our government should be treating their citizens.

Nigeria is just in a total mess right now and that is why we the Citizens are not benefiting anything from this oil, if you heard any story about people that are living in niger Delta honestly you will feel so bad because their condition is not appropriate at all. There's no any comfortability for them, because you will also like to ask yourself that all this morning Nigerian is generating from oil is not from that place, simply becomes the way they are living and suffering. The government should definitely do something for this people so that they will enjoy what they have been blessed naturally.
