As long as you have a good feeling about it and there is a lot of confidence I think that as long as you are shooting your shots why not go for it and be bold and make a declaration? Maybe his declaration was just what the universe needed to tip that needle in the right direction! I always make fun of those universe people who always talk about energy this and energy that but the more I grow older the more I think that there is more to that than meets the eye!

I think what made him make such declaration is the fact that he won, not knowing he was also being lucky, you can't make your own luck, it is like an unmerited favor, it just come, it could be anybody.

With that being said, I think his boldness stems from the fact that he made an accurate prediction and chose good odds, despite those odds looking as though they might not be the best decisions, and there here thinks, "yes I made those decisions, and it was exactly as I predicted", it gave him a sense of ingenuity, like he's some sort of genius or he's very smart, meanwhile, he was just lucky 😂😂.

The funny part is that, the house will turn around to look for ways to get his winnings back and eat into his own funds, but who knows, Maybe he had found a holy grail strategy that can crack the game and give him steady winnings 😉
