Cake wallet new version 6.0.1 released.

Welli just took up the new version of cake wallet and it's really interesting honestly there were a lot of bug fixes UI changes and most importantly new features some features I find most interesting now are;

• They now have a duress pin setup. What this does is anytime you type in that PIN your wallets automatically gets deleted and all that displays is an empty wallet but of course you should have a backup before this.
• Their swap feature now allows you to swap from coins in your wallet and receive them outside the wallet. Plus they now have a tor feature.
• Now you have the option of choosing how your swap is handled whether via a decentralized service or a centralized service. For now I don't know how they handle AML but it's a good start.
• Their organisation got improved too you can easily isolate address formats now.

For cake lovers out there what's your take on this?

I can't say more about cake coz i just only installed the app today after seeing the post from this thread Multicoin Open Source Wallets of dkbit98 as it has lots of supported coins unlike what i used before where monero is in separate wallet compare to this. So far the app looks good and there are lots of feature to be explored first.

There is nothing changed in version 4.6.1 if you go through the version 4.6.0. I do not know any good reason it is called version 4.6.1. You can go through it on GitHub for you to understand what I mean. And we have discussed about all the recent updates on that thread.

What do you mean as isolate address formats? There is nothing new about the different address format on Cake wallet for now.

There are some changes in the latest release but they appear to be very minor, nothing that’s really worth mentioning in the release notes.

I hadn’t used lightning in a while, but I had an app that allows me to withdraw rewards through lightning, so I sent some sats to Cake Wallet. I didn’t experience any major issues with the transactions I made. I can say that if you want something simple, where you don’t need to manage channels, this seems like a good option.

Your link is about Cake wallet collecting users' data but the wallet founder called you an idiot, that they do not collect users' data. Do you have any prove that they are collecting users' data?

If it is about freezing of coins, it is not possible for a self-custody wallet to freeze users fund. I have not heard of something like this before except fake wallets used by scammers to steal coins.

But it is very possible you mean when the user send money to the third-party exchange and which is possible. I prefer to use exchanges for exchange and wallet for holding, I do not use third party.

Cake has many custodial options in their wallet.
