Saw this coin posted on eBay and wasn’t sure what it actually is. Found it interesting how it says .01 on the front and the back seems to have just a generic holo, even overtop of raised lettering. Makes me feel like maybe a novelty coin someone slapped a holo on.

Any ideas? Image searching had me coming up empty…

well it is not a cas coin as it's eBay listing claims - the holo is generic so who knows what the key is under there or the address to it is.  the coin itself looks familiar - I have one somewhere - will see if I can find it and its details - or minerjones, our walking encyclopedia may chime in soon lol

These were cheap $5 tokens sold on Ebay maybe back in 2017-2019 timeframe
I did buy one that was assembled by the maker, but did peel it to see how they made their keys
After that, I bought a bulk lot of them to sell at conferences/stores, but that dream sailed away.......

I am assuming this is the listing you are referring to: https://www.ebay.com/itm/127734519496
"This product is part of the CryptoCelebrities game/DApp, making it a valuable and unique addition to any cryptocurrency enthusiast's collection"
Pretty sure this is not true..... and why they would charge $800 for a $5 novelty token is beyond me.. Huh

yea the OP had an eBay link at the bottom of their thread - looks to be the same one. And I think they put 800 as they are calling it a "Cas" which it is not.

Agree MJ, from memory I think the make/seller was out of CA. The listing was baited like "might be funded?!" I snagged a few way back when for fun. The token came assembled with a hologram and embedded key with no firstbits visible. I bought 4x of them, and peeled 1x. The private key was a QR code, but when swept there were no funds. I decided to leave the others intact figuring all were likely just assembled and never funded. Just found them at the bottom of the junk pile, snapped a few pics to share.

I found a few pictures... looks like I paid $20 for 10x of them... so not even $5 per token, lol Tongue

Ha, well that is an interesting sales tactic! I just found it odd how it displayed a BTC amount on the front. Thank you everyone for the info, I couldn't find anything at all on it.

I have 2 or 3 of these. None were funded.

If a built piece doesn't display the maker or the public address, you might as well just peel it. When you go to resale, no one will trust it otherwise.

Wow, what a beautiful design. This kind of design in collectible coins is really missed. It’s a shame they didn’t come funded; it would have been a guaranteed success. I would love to buy one, but $800 is crazy. If someone sells me one of these, I would definitely buy it, of course at a reasonable price.
