I have an unusual request.
A person, whom you probably know from this forum, is in a difficult situation.
Her husband left to serve in the army, to defend the country from the enemy who unleashed a terrorist war against our country. She has a very young child, and therefore all the financial burden and responsibility.
The essence of this appeal is a request to provide financial assistance to this person. It doesn't have to be millions, but if everyone who wants to help contributes once a month with an amount equivalent to 5-10-20-... USDT, it will be a huge help to this person!

1. YES, I understand that in today's world, such requests are often, to put it mildly, ambiguous.
2. That is why I initially explained the situation and agreed with the administrators of bitcointalk.
3. As I wrote above, I know this person personally and am also personally familiar with the situation, as I am already helping this person and can provide payment documents with a description of the purchases.
4. If you are consistent, then I am interested in how you rely on the one-sided and highly subjective opinion of a person whose trust is bright red, while the accusations of many participants are exclusively paranoid? Moreover, he has not provided a single reasonable argument proving the “scam” nature of this project!

Unfortunately, the situation with pay in the army is not the best, and the payment he receives is absolutely insufficient to support a family with an infant, and his wife does not have a permanent job because she needs to care for their young child.
As I wrote above, I can provide bank documents confirming targeted payments (indicating the goods purchased and their unambiguous purpose).

I do agree that reading full topic should be a basic etiquette but I also understand users who jumped quick on the bandwagon to bash the op, sometimes you just read couple lines in op and feel like — 'No, this is not allowed' and just comment.

It would be much better if this person you said might be known here is mentioned. There might be a quick response from users when they know the user who is in need of assistance and especially something as critical as the war. Personally I won't blame anyone who has regarded this thread with skepticism because there's the saying that once beaten, twice shy. So it's natural to approach this matter with a little bit of restraint. Now I'm not and won't be against anyone who wants to pitch in but just as Mitchell stated, a sort of go-ahead from the administrators you mentioned would be much welcome.

I've participated in many charity events on the forum, but as far as I can remember this is the first time someone has opened a topic like this on the Meta board. It would make some sense if it was a forum member who needed help, but it's not logical for a forum member to ask for help for someone unknown to all of us. Still, if the admins approved it, then I guess everything is fine.

I did a little research and found an article from last year in which it is said that the minimum salary of a soldier in Ukraine is about $500 with various bonuses.

Lucius: Yes, that's true. $500 may seem like a lot of money to some people, but, although I don't really like to say it, the army's supplies are “lacking,” and often you have to buy some of your ammunition and medical supplies with your own money.  Therefore, $500 doesn't leave you with much money, because clothing and equipment wear out very quickly—these are field conditions and life in very uncomfortable conditions, if that's a mild description of real war. And from personal experience—after I was demobilized, I have been regularly supporting our soldiers since 2023, from buying stationery and medicines to buying cars—unfortunately, state aid does not always fully cover objective needs. Yes, I don't like to say this, but it's a fact that it's silly to hide.

Just out curiosity, is the intended recipient of the donations in question Etranger?  It kind of sounds like that's the person you're describing.  She was active today, so why isn’t she making this request herself?  Did she ask you to make this request on her behalf, or are you acting on your own?  Are her husband's wages not enough to support her lifestyle?

These questions may seem nosey to you, but if I were to make a donation I would want to know exactly where my funds are going, how they will be spent, and why she's requesting help while discussing her gambling strategy.

Also, her previous fantasies of becoming a mining whale on someone else's dime make me think she's just simply bad with finances, and unaware of how the real world works.  I'm already married, so I have one of my own of those types to support.

The rest - I honestly find it difficult to understand how you link helping a person with some kind of chat rooms and someone's particular view on a particular issue.  If you don't want to help because “someone somewhere once said something,” that's your choice, and I have no right to judge it. It's your right to accept and evaluate the situation from your point of view! But I'm not here to argue or try to change anyone's mind

I always find donations complicated because of this.
Many people say that for every dollar donated only  10 cents really go to the cause.

This is why many billionaires create their own charity organizations,   like Bill gates  and many others.

The point is that you are an anonymous guy in the forum asking for money for a third person.  It cant be verifiable what will you do with the money. This 100% trust based in a person who doesnt trust us to reveal his identity (which is understandable)
