Gambling is fine, and as a matter of facts many people are now seeing gambling as the  only way to make an income while there are other who are seeing gambling as an entertainment purposes.. but then, you should know wether everyone around you is seeing gambling the way you doing?

The major reason why most people start their gambling is the curiosity to experience how it is. But then once they felt it then just start to add their own reasons, like if they had early success then they might be trapped with the delusion and think they can keep gambling to make more money or if they lost some money then they might want to recover them with one big win.

My only purpose in gambling is simply to have fun. I know very well that the odds of winning money in the long run are not in my favor, and for this reason, from a very young age, I learned to look at gambling only as a way to have fun. When I lose, I don't complain, I don't despair, I don't chase losses. On the contrary, I maintain the same attitude I had before placing the bet. Whenever I bet, I don't create expectations; I only celebrate when I win.

I think the majority of gamblers think the opposite way of how you think, because most of them don't gamble to lose whatever they have allocated for it, but they are always looking to multiply their bankroll multiple folds in every gambling session, and as soon as they start losing money, they start panicking right away, and out of that panic attack and anxiety, they start making larger bets so that they can recover what they have just lost, sometimes it works and they make it back even with some profits, but sometimes they keep losing even more after making larger bets, and then empty the whole bankroll.

If I go to direct my answer then I always try to take the purpose of gambling is only  entertainment. I will not say that I didn't make any mistake on gambling but I now I always try to make the responsible gambling where I spend only that amount what can I afford to lose. Almost all the people I have seen gamble in an attempt to win big from gambling. They think that if they gamble for a long time, they will definitely win big at some point. But if they are asked why they gamble, they say that they consider gambling as entertainment. This makes it clear that they may be trying to console themselves for entertainment but in reality their purpose is different. In my case, when I started gambling, I had similar expectations from gambling but when I realized the truth, I considered gambling only as entertainment. Entertainment and pastime, occupy the fancy of the competitive player is the main audience capture.   It shouldn't be more then that but some people have the idea of making money, that has to be a large draw for some who believe they can levy an advantage of personal skill in some way.

Gambling with money you can afford to lose is fundamental to sound financial management. I also advise against over-indulging in gambling, as it can lead to addiction, or bad habits.
