The crypto space has grown into multiple sectors over the years with the likes of DeFi, exchanges, NFTs, infrastructure, payments, gaming, and more.

But one question I keep thinking about is: which sector is actually generating sustainable revenue today?

For example:
• Exchanges generate revenue through trading fees
• DeFi protocols earn through lending and liquidity fees
• Infrastructure networks generate fees from transactions

Networks like Bitcoin continue to produce transaction fee revenue regardless of market cycles.

Meanwhile, some sectors seem highly active but depend mostly on speculation rather than real cash flow.

So I’m curious: Which crypto sector do you think is currently generating the most real and sustainable revenue?

Exchanges probably bring the most real money right now. As long as people keep trading, they collect fees. Doesn’t really matter if the market is pumping or dumping, there’s always some volume. DeFi also makes money from lending and LP fees, but activity there goes up and down a lot. NFTs and gaming had their hype runs, but a lot of the activity there still comes and goes with the hype. Bitcoin and the bigger networks also earn from transaction fees, but exchanges still look like the most steady business in crypto right now.
