Is this forum dead? ALL the posts I see seem to be from people with banners in their signatures and info block, trying to earn some Ad money?

I remember a few years ago this was a vibrant place, what the hell happened?

Forum is not a good format for conversations anymore? Everybody left for reddit?

Are the banners people are wearing on their profiles obstructing you from reading what's being published by them?

The forum might not be as good as it was in the old days, but it's also not so bad that people will leave here for Reddit.

You just have to filter out the areas that you want to get information from in the forum, and you will definitely see those who are good in those fields to share knowledge with you.

No, the forum is not dead. The forum doesn't regulate banner ads and it's open to everyone by rank.

You don't expect people to remain in the same place for long period of time. Maybe the users you are familiar with are no longer active but the forum is still active.

If you don't want to see ads banner, go to Profile >> Look and Layout Preference, check Don't show users' signatures, you wouldn't see signatures again.

Far from it. It has always mainly been a technical forum, not a typical social media site.
It still is but has added several more general interest areas as well. Ja a lot of very active folks here do have sig campaigns - more power to them and ja it does encourage uneeded posts but many are also relevant to the topics.

This only explains one thing, the OP is not a newbie to the forum but someone that created a new account for reason best known to them or just to seek for attention.
He complains that post is only made by users wear banners on their signature space to make some money but even in the previous years that he is talking about, there were people here earning from bounties and airdrop.

The real definition of dead is when there's no activities going on with that thing, but the forum is not dead, it still gets a significant traffic and significant number of post monthly.

I think this thread supposed to be taken down by a moderator because it has zero value. The OP asked if this forum is dead but he continued and answered himself that this forum is not dead but that has changed is what I saw about his post. He is only trolling. Meta should not be a place where we should ask if the sun shines today or if water can be used to make plant grow on a good soil.

I have nothing against, you are not the first and I'm sure you wouldn't be the last with trading bots service.

Nah, that account was really old. And I didn't even talk about my bots before like a week ago, when I finished the 5th version, which I really like and think is good enough for a partnership with somebody. Before I used them myself.

Why does almost everybody have them now? And most with banners are "legendary"! Because they spam the forum with meaningless posts day and night?

Point of correction my friend, because for the fact that people are now privileged to earn a few dollar while engaging in discussion on this forum doesn't make what they are saying trash or meaningless just the way you claimed. But rather it serves as a motivation to want to make them spend more time here on the forum. And secondly, the advertiser who pays members for creating a certain number of posts here are all advertising Bitcoin related projects, which means by running a campaign here, they are able to target the right audience in a large crypto community like this (i.e bitcointalk).. So I hope you get used to the forum now, because you can't run away to Reddit for the past years and come back here and you expect the forum to be exactly the same.

We are fully aware that it's possible for people to use A.I to be posting on this forum, and because of that, the forum has already got a measure in place in detecting A.I generated posts, of which I could boldly say that the forum has got 60% success rate at detecting A.I spam users and banning them.

It's my first impression, I wasn't here long enough, maybe I am wrong. But it just seems that most posts are written just to say _something_.

These banners can't provide a decent stream of additional income, can they? So most of these people are probably poor shmucks from places like India and Pakistan, trying to earn a couple of bucks a month? Or are these really profitable now? What am I missing here?

It's not dead, just all those ICO spammers and scammers are gone now. Most of them were bots anyway.

Most of the people who are in reddit is also people who is in the forum, it's like forum and altcointalk, almost of the people who is in bitcointalk is as same in altcointalk. So forum still have millions of users who are active..
