What version was this added in?

I would like to make a plugin as well. It will be an AML checker that allows you to directly contact my service from your Electrum wallet.

Then you will be able to check and update the score before you send (and lose) funds.

There are so many other things we can build!

A Wabisabi endpoint, a scam address checker, exchange swap API endpoints, etc etc.

Thinds reminded me of the time where ChipMixer released their electrum plugin, many years ago.

AFAIK, you could already install custom plugins? I myself wrote a < 10 lines plugin to allow sub 1 sat/vByte fees before they officially supported it.

Have anyone actually use or try "Audio MODEM" plugin? i skimmed the code[1] and it seems it require you to have both speaker and microphone.

you're right, but not many people aware of plugin feature or ever install plugin that isn't provided by electrum. For reference, even plugin to connect electrum to Bitcoin Core directly only have 20 stars on github[2]

I noticed there is an option for Community-built extensions for privacy, which means that it is possible to list some Coinjoin plugin.

I guess the main one obviously is that you have to make a pull request or something like that to that particular repo, and that it has to pass peer review and safety checks et al.

There are specific requirements, instructions and guidelines listed in the GitHub repository that I've shared above (in the commit history).
And yeah, it has to be submitted as Pull Request, one plugin per PR.

With those disclaimers, in the the website and the guidelines itself, it looks like it'll not be an extensive review.
My best bet is those are just added to play safe in case one malicious third-party extension made it in the list.
But they'll probably do a thorough review.

If not, purely based from the context, just some tests if it's functional.
