If you've been living in countries affected by the Middle East crisis, has this ongoing war changed your perspective on how you gamble? Did you take a break or minimise your gambling session so you can save for any eventualities that this war will bring?

What I think for those who are directly affected by the war in Iran is that the time of war is not the time for savings. Moreover, how much of gambling money can you save especially for someone who is not a risk taker. In fact what you do at that time is to either hold back your money for feeding or you can take risk on gambling maybe you can make a turn out from it. But if you mean savings in the bank, I don't think that is going to happen, except it is going to be converted into bitcoin. During the time of war, most people try to hold their money to themselves and not necessarily saving it because they know anything can happen.

Unless we are talking about "opinable" betting on the war events (crypto prediction markets) I don't see anything that can really change behaviour in gambling.
Gambling budget is always a fraction of the total "budget" of a year of expenses. Keep it easy... even if bigger events can change drastically life and "funny" habits.

The war may not really affect everyone but I know it can be affecting gamers in the sane region where the war is taking place and it's can also be affecting casinos too because as the numbers of gamblers that are not gambling because of the war the casino is not making money just the way they were making when their was no war. The war is affecting gambling but it may not be very visible that everyone can be able to see the effect of the war in gambling.

Can you please elaborate it more OP as to how the ongoing war will change our perspective when it comes to how we gamble? We are having a hard time connecting the two. Well just to answer your question, nothing will change. The war between these countries will not make me change on how often do I gamble. I'll gamble whenever I have the spare money. I'll gamble despite of having a war between countries. I will gamble as long as I have time to do it.

It could be that OP is relating it to the price increase of gas, I mean, if gas prices increase and this war continues for a while, prices on other products like food or other utilities will increase too. I guess OP might be asking people if they have cut back on gambling to prepare for the possible price hikes that might happen.

It’s a different story if you live on the country which is directly in conflict like Israel, Iran, UAE and so on since the situation there is terrible that you will not think to find entertainment on gambling.

However, It’s still a normal gambling activity to people far away on war like me. I still gamble whenever I want since my current situation is still the same aside from gas price here is already increasing.

If we do speak about that sudden huge spike on oil prices then we can defintiely say that we do need up to save up money or lessen out our spending but of course it would be that still depending into someones financial capacity because there are those people who can be able to withstand such crisis since they do have the money that they can spend on in despite of the pressure and increase of prices then it wont be that much of an issue. So in talking about my gambling spending then im still on the situation that i can still afford on playing gambling since my income and other sources could be still able to sustain on what my spending in despite of the expenses. The most important thing is that you are that saving up for emergencies, always allocate money or funds for such unexpected events such as this. On the moment that you've seen that your earning isnt that sufficient enough then why would gamble?

It all matter about on how you would be that making yourself responsible on every actions you do take. It would be that impossible that you wont be able to notice out on the things like your money or income and still keep on spending considering that economic problems now are getting severe.

No war in our country but because of the crisis it brought to us, I did minimize my gambling.. I reduced it significantly as income hasn’t been that good recently, so I have to save as we never know, the price of oil might continue to rise and basic needs will always follow. Sorry gambling sites, you won’t make money from my usual losses now since I reduced my play, but hopefully this crisis will be over soon so we can go back to our normal life.

I actually already minimized my gambling activities even before the war, but I do understand your point here.

With the gas prices going up, so do the necessities of people like food and electricity bills. I bet they will start saving their money, as that can become a huge problem in the long run. I mean, it will change the budget because everything will get more expensive, and the daily needs will probably change too.
Being the one who makes the budget for our family made me think about stopping playing slots completely and just focusing on sports, which I don't really bet on that much, more like to just have fun and to watch the game with more energy.

Many of us are not in the countries that are directly affected by the war.. but how about you guys, have you already felt the effect like inflation?

For me, thus far nothing has really changed yet, still gambling as usual but I’m also mindful of the possible worse effects of this war. As we know gambling is not the top priority, if living gets more expensive then we have to cut expenses for gambling.. just call it an expense and be honest as most likely we will lose the money we gamble.

Still okay to gamble but just do it for fun.. lose small, be happy.

Gambling is a peaceful pastime, without any force majeure circumstances. When the situation in a region becomes difficult (such as military conflicts or natural disasters), it's wasteful to spend money on gambling (where the odds of winning are low and losing are high). It's better to have a reserve for unforeseen circumstances (since you never know what conditions you'll have to live in or even whether you'll have to leave the current region). Therefore, in such circumstances, I'd prefer to stop gambling altogether in order to conserve as many resources as possible, as survival may depend on it.

You do not need to live in those countries to be affected. I think the effects of this ongoing unrest is being felt globally, it is sharply driving up the cost of productions and transportation of consumable goods necessary for survival because energy prices have gone up, all thanks to the war. It has also resulted to increased expenses spending and with the expenses budget going up, other things would be trimmed so you can meet up, unless the gambler in question doesn't work with a real budget.

I use less funds for gambling these days, I keep a variable budget too and somehow it has affected even my disposition to gambling as I'm now more cautious than before not to overspend in gambling at the expense of my living.

It makes no sense. War does nothing to do to influence someone's perspective to gamble. I believe gamblers don't really care with what happened with middle east caused by what they wanna get is profit.
When i gamble, i just gamble. I don't feel the war is scaring my to gamble caused by i can just do that on my phone. A little war in the middle easy doesn't mean the end of the world.

Remember have no money is much more terrible instead of you get bunches of BS news about the war. That's why i don't think gamblers feel paranoid due to the war.

Of course, the impact of this war has had a huge impact on my gambling, especially since the price of oil has increased in my country, so the salary I get at the end of the month is enough to cover my expenses, and I have nothing left in my hand. Since I have nothing left in my hand, I have nothing to budget for gambling, so I am unable to budget for gambling due to the impact of this war, so I have completely stopped participating in gambling.

I actually feels for those who are affected from both countries as I know that it's not easy as war is actually very bad. However, this doesn't in any way influenced my gambling activities or control how much I should be gambling with, and yes, we know that lot of people are being affected. When rockets and drones are flying over your head, I think that gambling or any other entertainment is not something you should think about. In moments like these, your only concern should be how to save the lives of yourself and your family, and to make sure they have food, water, and the necessary medicines.

I guess not that huge but economically it really hits different especially if you're using especially vehicles that cost more now than it was usual. I think it's not more on the session but I think it's more on the money you spend while gambling. I don't think and I hope it will not escalate that big enough that most countries will participate in this because it's not only gambling will be disrupted, all of what are daily life looks like will be changed.
