hi im ili "again" since there is little adoption of Tari, this topic was created for the purpose of dissemination. Tari has two layers:
Layer 1: Minotari (XTM)
Standard: A traditional blockchain that generates blocks every 2 minutes.
Protocol: Uses the Mimblewimble protocol, focused on privacy, scalability, and fungibility.
Mining Algorithms: Its distinguishing feature is that it has four mining algorithms:
SHA3X: Introduced specifically for ASICs.
Cuckaroo29: Introduced specifically for GPUs (some community members are requesting this be replaced with a more robust one).
RandomX: Introduced specifically for CPUs.
RandomX with Monero: Along with RandomX Monero, it helps decentralize the network.
Layer 2: Tari (XTR) - "Ootle"
Generation: To generate XTR, you have to burn XTM L1 tokens at a 1:1 ratio via a dynamic "Throttle" mechanism or turbine model.
Purpose: XTR is used for private digital applications and assets.
Scalability: Scalability is infinite using the Cerberus Model, conceived by Radix and adapted by Tari. In short, the more nodes in the network, the faster it becomes.
Key Highlights & Future Outlook
Licensed Stablecoin Issuer: When Layer 2 is launched, the network will have a Licensed Stablecoin Issuer (with necessary issuer transparency for licensing).
Regulatory Innovation: This could completely change the network and may be the first privacy blockchain to be regulated. It offers privacy to the user while complying with global laws.
