There is definitely a psychological angle and I believe that casinos actively exploit this, but proof is very hard to come by. I won't call the early winning greedy it's more like a confidence booster, it make gamblers think it's their lucky day and sometimes if mixed with the combo of a newly discovered strategy they may feel like they're finally cracked the code to gamble and thar might as well make them become greedy but I tell a gambler who has a strong mental understanding of how gambling works would barely fall for this trick of being too confident because of their early wins.
