My question is this:
I wonder what are red flags that you guys watch for in order to avoid scams?

What I do is check what people are saying about them on the forum. All the cryptocurrency casinos I’ve tried had a thread on this forum. And I have to say that I haven’t come across any scams, or at least they didn’t cause any problems when I tried them. The most problematic ones I’ve tried would be the Lightlord casinos and freebitco.in; when I tried them back in the day, I had a good experience, but I wouldn’t try them again today because their issues are well known. If there are any red flags with casinos you will see about that in the forum.

For me the top flag is the absence of an announcement thread on Bitcoin talk. Because I never try the casinos that are not present on Bitcontalk as that's going to be waste of my time and money. There're quite a good number of casinos present on this forum with their active representatives and it makes no sense to join casinos that aren't here because if something wrong takes place then there will be no mediator to solve the issues.

So many gamblers do not even give new casinos a chance, until they have been in the business for sometime. Others do not deposit anything substantial in new casinos, just a small amount of money and if they win something, they try to withdraw and see if they can. Both ways are actually good to start off with a new casino.

If it was before, I prefer just old gambling sites that have excellent reputation but it was this forum that changed that. Although, the gambling sites I know that I can trust must have a license.

That said, you can look out for their license, if the casino doesn't have any, then it raises certain questions. You should also be careful with casinos that come on the scene and start offering unrealistic bonuses for players, that's definitely a red flag.

Gambling license is very expensive, that will discourage scammers from doing it, but we should still be very careful of shady ones because some can get license and still be shady.

If I see casino out there but they don't have ANN here, I will not use to play gambling. I don't know how good their reputation so I will leave them and wait or search for other casinos. But if the casino have ANN here and really active communicating or discuss and interacting with members here, that could be a good casino although all things depends on the time. Time will tells if the casino really good or not.

If the casino is new, I will not have big expectations as they need to prove if they deserve to get reputation. If they can working hard to have reputation and always makes their members satisfy, they will get a good reputation.

First red flag was that the casino was pretty new and unknown to me, I didn’t know it's reputation or anything about it.

"New" doesn't necessarily mean it's a 100% scam, but the chances are certainly higher.

Second, there was no information about about minimum withdrawal limits available on webpage.
Honestly I knew there was something fishy going on since they didn't have basic information like this one transparently written.

I'm not going to defend this casino, but if it's new, maybe they just haven't set withdrawal limits yet? Of course, that doesn't justify their actions.

Third red flag was customer service that gave misleading and wrong information. After asking them questions about wagering requirements for specific games they gave me misleading information, and when I called them on that they accused me with some arbitrary accusations.

Could it be that this new casino's customer support team is staffed by inexperienced students on a part-time basis?

So it is good idea to watch out for such red flags, specially when trying out new casino.

I would prefer to stay away from any new casino as the market in this industry is rife with old and established casinos.

It is very good if the casino has ANN thread but it is not 100% guarantee that casino is legitimate. I'm saying this because the casino I mentioned in OP has ANN thread, though it is pretty inactive. After scam accusation thread was made and their shady practices were exposed no one wanted to participate in their raffles any more and their reputation suffered pretty badly.

Actually there's no red flag into this, any reputable casinos right now came from the start on being a new casino and thats given. The only red flags is on the time that those behavior on which it do shows that its not that legit and credible specially when it comes to fairness of the casino on which this would be the first to look or check it first before you would be that making up some deposits on a new gambling site. Well, its not bad to test out a new site just make it sure that you wont be that putting up that much big amount to gamble on so that if ever you would be able to get scammed then the damage wouldnt be that hurt or not that so bad in compared into those who do make out some deposit on a huge amount.

Next, if you are that skeptical on making up some deposit then make yourself that that having that observation mode on which you do let the community or other gamblers would be sharing up their views and insights towards the new platform whether its something that could be trusted or not.

I also never choose any casinos outside this forum, I know that experienced gamblers will give their ratings after sometime when they have tried them out and their feedback gives me assurance whether there is a red flag or not. I don't explore casinos outside this forum because there quite a handful of them to choose from in this forum. The few casinos that I've used in this forum are good, I don't have any reasons to complain and I can recommend anyone that is looking for reputable casinos to visit this forum to make their picks.

One way to spot a untrustworthy casino is when it has bad reviews on social medias, because if the casino has actually lasted for over a month or few months old, I'm 100% sure that there are a few sets of people that might have used it and gave their honest reviews online. Because in most cases, I don't usually fancy the positive reviews, because it could be paid, but what I always look for are the negative reviews, that is probably to come from a honest gambler on social media platforms like "X, Reddit, Facebook or TikTok". While secondly, another thing I always look out for is if does the casino has a corresponding information or a misleading information that sounds too nice to be true.

Yes, but on other hand they made thread on games and rounds where I won the game, so I thought that I could withdraw without any problems.

Honestly I didn't check how old their domain is or how long they operate, but it was new to me. Also not disclosing minimum withdrawal seemed like it was left out on purpose as minimum deposit information was there.

I rarely try a casino without an established reputation. The only time I use a new casino is when they are affiliated to reputable casino or they are being suggested by reputable member of the forum based on their own experience.

To avoid scam completely is to stop playing on casino with limited feedback. There’s tons of casino out there that already have established reputation.

Normally, Scam usually have a too good to be true promotion even though the ToS seems like not in favor with them. They intentionally leave it that way to attract players deposit thinking it’s an easy money.

For me if there is no live support, I would not consider casino for gambling. I dont think that it is expensive to hire and train several employees that will communicate with customers. If any contact with casino is done through email, then there is no contact at all. For me this means they are not client oriented. They can always «miss» your email or «we havent received anything», or even worse - ignore.

Sometimes hard to determine if the casino is untrustworthy, because many of new casinos did their very best to promote, give good promo and also make their representative looks real and visible. But later on they turn scam and suddenly shut off their casino then take the money of their gamblers.

Those what you notice is so basic and we could find those common red flag on obvious scams.

What we can do if we are curious with their offering is to use small amount only and be careful on sudden big offers since somehow this is sign that they are doing something strange which might turn as scam.

This forum was primarily created in order to have various discussions about cryptocurrencies. Necessarily, discussions involve topics that revolve anything under the sun for cryptocurrencies, so this naturally may involve discussions of gambling websites.

What I am saying here is that you can utilize the forum in such a way to double or triple check every gambling website for feedback from our loyal members. If there’s something that’s really valuable, it’s the constructive feedback given by our users regarding that gambling platform.

I know many have already mentioned dozens of red flags about a certain gambling casino but I want to stress it clearly that it should be mandatory for everyone to use this forum and check for genuine feedback, if any, regarding a certain online gambling platform.

New casinos are always not safe until they build reputation themselves, using this forum if possible then I can give a try, all I have to do is use small amount of money. Compare to if I want to use stake for example I don't mind depositing high amount on stake for example or others like Rainbet and Roobet.

I stand with a protocol of my own that if the casino isn't available on this forum I wont use it, because been available on here means that I can easy raise alarm if something feels off, casinos are looking for customers on here as well so they have a reputation to protect, if they do something wrong that revealed bad intentions they will get red tag and that's the end of the casinos reputation, there is no where else you would get such discipline.

Honestly, I think the easiest way to protect yourself from scam casinos or gambling sites is to always look at reputable gambling sites and then start depositing or playing. Everyone has a fear of new casinos, especially a few days ago a new casino scammed on this forum. And they were already running their signatures on the forum.
Another thing I thought was that if a casino doesn't have live customer support, it still remains on the suspect list. Also I want to say is that sites that don't keep any tracking or history after clicking on the withdraw option. Those are also very suspicious. In my opinion, the best option is to play with casinos that have been on the forum for a long time and already have their signature campaigns running.

Everything you mentioned are all red flag that I watched out for in a casino, but most glaring is if the casino is operating without a license, that is the total turn off for me, once I notice that a new casino is operating without a license is clear that they will be waiting for the right time to do an exit scam on their victims.

So you think that decentralized casinos are unfit and suspect, because most of them don't have a license, that's because they don't have a centralized operation that requires a license to operate?

Maybe I should be careful about that too, because the problem is much worse when there is no guarantor/authority for the business license of the casino, so when they run away we can't sue anyone.

Hmm. That's a good question. In my case, my first go-to is the terms and conditions. Just fast browsing it, and hopefully a red flag will come out as I read it. Second will be players' experience. That is why I really love this forum. Players do share their experiences, and many will do an honest review about the online casino. Not accussations yet, just the experience on deposits and withdrawals, and the games too. If I see even just one or two members taking their time to write an honest review, and it sounds fishy, then I will avoid that online casino.
I guess I have done well at watching my own ass when it comes to online casinos because I have not yet been scammed or fooled by an untrustworthy one.

Well, the number one is always: "Things that sound too good to be true"! Some casinos use big words like "big profits, easy money, risk-free money, etc"... Usually, the same casinos have a pretty aggressive advertising strategy.

I guess it's always good to watch for bad-looking casinos... bad graphics, broken English, and all other irregularities you can spot.

There are other red flags, but all in all, the best thing the new players can do is to do their own research before they decide to play in some casino. It can be big & old, and still be untrustworthy. When it comes to totally new casinos that yet need to build their reputation, the story is different. After all, we can decide to give them a try if we think we can trust them, but just with small amounts we can afford to lose.
