Old Men are Dragging the World Into Chaos While the Youth Cheer them on

The world is being controlled by very old leaders who may not even live above 5-10 years from now! to see the long term effects of their decisions. With clear evidence, many of these decisions are seriously affecting the global economy, peace and the future of the next generations to come. All these avoidable wars, conflicts and political tensions just keep increasing  and the annoying as sad part is that it is the same group of older politicians who are carelessly making these choices that will shape the settings of the world for the next 50 or 60 years.

What is even more surprising and shocking to the heart is that many young people, especially millennials who are supposed to become the next generation of leaders, are just busy supporting and cheering these bunch of diaper-bound leaders on, all because of religious, political and traditional loyalties.

What do you want the youths to do? The youths can't stop the very old leaders, as you call them, from exercising their electoral power as the number one citizens of their country. They are elected, not selected. That gave them the mantle power to govern, to protect, and to make decisions that will shape the country in a different way, which could result in its forwardness or backwardness. Whichever one it is, the youths will have to wait till when the election comes, for them to vote for another leader of their choice

That's a harsh realty, and yet the youth are not capable of doing anything because there hands are tied. There is chaos in the world today because the old men wants to fulfil their fantasies before they leave to meet their maker. For someone who have few years to live, what is death to them? Either way they are going to die someday but destroying the world before dying is their ultimate fantasy. The youths are more concerned of surviving due to inflation and purchasing power.

Don't worry, their time has come, and soon it will be a thing of the past. Our concern should be focus on the next leaders, what have they learnt that will change their reasoning towards a better future. This is the most important discussion because it seems like the youth who are the leaders of tomorrow are also following the same path of destruction.

I don't know what you want the youth to do and I understand how frustrated yo're from what you have said, sometimes it really looks like the people that makes this big decision in the world today won't even live up to see the result of what they start. In a country where the Youths have voice and some level of control in the government, then they can do something and it would be impactful, but the reality we live in, especially in my country, the Youths have been sidelined from a long time ago in a tactical uninvolvemnt by these said old men, the only youths being involved are their children who still carry on their legacies. What mavel me the more is that fact that, this young men and women quickly forgot that, all these evils doings, bad decisions, fake promises, poor leadership and so on, that we the young ones are to suffer the consequences when the time comes, because this old men and women must have joined their ancestors by that time.

It is definitely a fact that the leaders we see today were once young too and many of them probably experienced bad leadership and saw how it affected their own societies. Unless they came from very wealthy or influential families! if not, most of them must have struggled at some point and even fought for change. That’s why it is a bit sad to see that once they get into positions of power, many of them focus more on the negative side that comes with having so much authority in the hand. It just solidify your point that human nature and moral weakness can sometimes push people toward bad decisions. Well, the youths of today will also grow older and many of them will eventually hold power. I just hope when that time comes, they will do things differently and somehow break this cycle of bad leadership.

You made some silent but valide points even though some part of your write is majorly born out of assumption speculation and with no valid fact, you are right that the world powers state are run by older men in fact if you check the top 5 world powers countries leaders, none of them is below 70 years of age before becoming president, but what I can not agree with you is also the part you mentioned that the war around the world is influenced by the old age, because alot of thing's could lead to global war such as this one, intercontinental politics is wider with power interest and influence this make age to become a none actors in key decision making in the global power space.

It is everywhere. Politicians will always look out for their own interests. It's either that they are chasing power, or they are chasing more wealth and reputation in the world. I know a President who isn't after money, but he is after policing every other country they deem a threat to them.  While in some countries, their Presidents are more concerned with storing generational wealth for the family.

some of the youths are against the war. they have always been against any kind of war and they are protesting on the streets but there’s really nothing they can actually do more than that. of course the youth are against it because it’s also their tax being used to fund the war.

They probably have a plan to follow so even if they're not going to live for a decade, they have to make it happen. It seems that the conspiracy theories that people are seeing that this world isn't controlled by world leaders, there are even higher people behind and up them that plays as the puppet masters. And these world leaders are the puppets of this game and they're being swayed wherever these people behind them want to. The sad reality of this is we as normal citizens are being dragged to these situations that we don't want, while them, they're away from the wars and can't feel inflation because of them being ultra rich.

I guess you could say, that this aint no country for old men.

Anyways, most of the youths in this world that makes up the general population dont have a clue or even have an inch desire to know or change how the world works. We experience and live a very different kind of life compared to the older generations. The youth growing in the recent generation already have access to the internet. You think that by having this, they would become more aware of the political nature of things. But not entirely so, they are distracted by mundane things and fell into hedonism. They became too comfortable to their way of living now, that they have no desire in changing it. Compared  to the older generation, the youths now never experienced harsh famine, harsh calamities, devastating wars. They are already the beneficiaries of the previous generation who were the ones who experienced all the hardships life can give.

It only takes a matter of time until they realize this, when they finally reach adulthood, where they face the cold reality of things, how important politics is, how your life would be implicated  by just a simple dollar increase of gas.

This is indeed a sad reality. Many nations are governed by the worst set of people. My country is ruled by an individual convicted of drug dealings. He is a well-known criminal who took power through electoral rigging. The US and Israel are also ruled by individuals who have criminal records. So we shouldn't be amazed at their actions and inactions.

It's not all the youths who are supporting these criminals. We have young people who are speaking against these governments. We see that happen in Bangladesh and elsewhere. Those who support these old presidents are either benefiting from the government or ignorant. Those who support leaders based on religion, tribe, or race are idiots.

The ruling party has the majority in the Senate, so they could easily pass laws that would make electoral rigging easy.  They are aware that the current president will not win a free and fair election. So they amended the law to favour him.

It will take a revolution for the voice of the masses to be heard by the ruling class. It happened in Bangladesh when the people got fed up with the corrupt government.

The youths have nothing to do when it comes to decision of going to war with another country . Orders are giving by the president and every order given by the president and it's not obeyed might lead to the death of the disobedient man. These old men are the number one citizens of their various countries and if you check in the military,navy or airforc, you will find out that 80% of the recruits are young men. Some are not happy going to war but you must defend your country when called upon. The youths not in the military are helpless as well. Lies were sold to them on why their country must invade country xyz . If you check the war in the middle east, those dying are the youths.they don't have a choice right now because it is the job they have got and their bills must be paid.

Like you said, the senate and house of rep is suppose to be the voice of the people but unfortunately, the candidates that belong to the ruling party is usually larger in population and in a society where party and self interest is paramount, then the voice of the minority which is usually in the opposition is not heard, meaning the masses opinion will be silent. In a more democratic setting, the people's voice form the opinion of government policies. This is not the case in an undemocratic government or if you have democracy that looks like autocracy, oligarchy or at most, gerontocracy.

The old men also have children and grandchildren that will live to witness the same chaos, older men ruling a country doesn't mean they are the worse set of humans, even a younger generation in power might be worse than this old men and damages they've caused. They are not worries because, they have stolen and secured huge amounts and investment for their generations, whatever collapses happening in the community won't affect their generation, what they do is prepare generational wealth.
