Curious if there is any movie about the making of bitcoin? I have only found that one documentary of Finding Satoshi but I will be more interested in watching a movie about the makings of bitcoin itself. Just like The Social Network where it showed how Facebook was made and what events led to one another. I do feel that a movie about bitcoin would make people understand it better and would be entertained in the process.

I do not think there is enough pre Bitcoin detail about Satoshi to make a movie out of his creation.  About the actor, I honestly believe they would have to be masked and hooded the entire movie.  I would not want particular human features to be attributed to him, it would defeat the purpose.

I think this would be an excellent movie regarding the history of BTC and its mystery founder on how everything came to be.

The problem, however, is on how cryptocurrencies would be portrayed given that the government views BTC both as a boon and a bane. I somehow doubt if they would allow to have it created as a movie but I would be interested if it did.

For the actors, since you mentioned about it OP, well that’s debatable given that “Satoshi” is a Japanese name. But in reality, it really might be just a screen name and his identity could be another race.

But since you brought out Social Network, you might be interested that Ben Mezrich, who wrote the original book for the Social Network has written book about Winklevoss twins, called Bitcoin Billionaires and movie adaption of it is probably coming too. And even though i enjoyed the the book, i am not expecting much from it, as it's likely to be produced by someone without talent or vision.

It had some easy cinematic moments though, like destroying the printers used to print paper wallets and hammering of hard drives.

I don't think there's a film that will specifically tell Satoshi's story, as his track record is truly limited.  If there were, it would be a short film and likely create a false narrative about Satoshi.

The scriptures might actually feel nice to be watched in action but this questionable observation got the entire system choked because Satoshi Nakamoto who is to be the actor behind the scenes can not be identified if it is a he or she or whether it is an individual or groups of people.

That alone ruins it and since it can not be convince able to be true, then the entertainment can not be felt except for those who are already being easily to be influenced by the media and believe it that whoever going to play that Satoshi role will be risking itself in one way or the other.

We could make a movie of what Bitcoin looks like in the future. There is a ton of material to work with.

Making a documentary about this is easier and many documentaries have already been made. But making a movie is a completely different thing. A good script could be written that tells the story of the events leading to the birth of Bitcoin in a compelling way, but there are too many gaps. In The Social Network, for example it's clear who founded Facebook, so it's easy to turn his life story into a screenplay. But no one knows who Satoshi is.

If the production goes too deep into the technical side, it won't reach the audience. Also people tend to think movies are real. They can't distinguish between fiction and reality. If such a film were made, there would be debates about how much of it is actually true. In the end it's very likely that a mediocre project with little box office return would come out of it. If that's the case, it would be better if it wasn't made at all.

i converted 2770 blocks into jpg with coinmange 2009 v9.0.6 BEAN mod and hid them and i cut the wallet.dat off my desktop and burnt it on a cd.  i cant remember what i did with them.
the patoshi pattern is my mining story.
and apparently i was the only one who was running multiple nodes, i thought all miners were the same.
i got my miner in Aug 2008 and mining was supposed to start nov 2008. it was delayed twice.

I have been seeing a lot of movies that are crypto related, even though I might not have been able to come across anyone that is centrally focused on the storyline behind the history of Bitcoin, which I know that is not bad if the movie industry can take it up to establish something more unique about the history, if they can look into every details to the entire process of how it all started and make a movie for that.

In latest years, there was a noisy movie about Satoshi Nakamoto identity and theymos by that chance, shared his opinion about Satoshi Nakamoto identity.

Are all of the interviews in the trailer original? I got the feeling that several of them were interviews I saw many years ago, though I could be wrong.

My current feeling on Satoshi's identity is:
 - Sassaman is a very bad candidate. If this is their conclusion, then they totally failed to do proper research.
 - 50% chance it's someone nobody's ever heard of, and nobody will ever figure it out
 - 35% chance it's Hal Finney. (Over time, I've moved more probability into this category.)
 - 10% chance it's someone else in the Bitcoin-verse
 - 5% chance it's a group within the CIA

But I'm really not a fan of the whole "search for Satoshi" genre. Being anonymous, Satoshi is an excellent myth and source of inspiration, since we can't see much of his flawed humanity. Mythical-Satoshi is a humble man who, with a lot of persistence and skill, but not with a level of brilliance beyond the reach of us mortals, single-handedly created a clockwork device so powerful that it shook the world. And then, in an action which nobody in the traditional halls of power would ever take, he had the wisdom to walk away: a modern Cincinnatus. I like that myth very much, and I'd rather it not be tainted by association with an actual human.

Since no one knows who Satoshi is, it would be ideal to have a no-name actor play the part. And they have to be wearing a mask in their scenes to avoid attaching a nationality to the character. It’s a difficult concept to make and if the studios get it right, would it be sell out the box-office?

I don’t think any of those movies are about the making of bitcoin. They only mention bitcoin or cryptocurrency in those movies/series.

Well, lack of facts and information never stopped anyone from making a (bad) movie.

Having said that, I do hope that no one makes it as chances of it being good are slim to none, but I would be very surprised if someone doesn't attempt to make it eventually.

Even if there is a movie about Satoshi it's going to be a fake one because satoshi remains a ghost.
They will either find a fake figure or make up their own story about who satoshi really is.

You can only make a movie out of something or someone you know, this is why satoshi movie won't make a good impact, it's going to be like making a movie out of anonymous.

As for entertainment, then that's possible, but as for understanding BTC better, i believe there are so many other ways to get to know about BTC, than a movie. All you need do to understand BTC better is to be active in this forum, or read the many comprehensive articles about BTC on the internet.

A movie about BTC would contain a lot of embellishments to make it interesting, and that could take away some important facts and lessons about it. However, if one is ever made, i would surely watch it, not to learn a thing from it, but to see what was done.

Cryptocurrencies are a topic that many people know, but it seems to me that Hollywood will never make a film about Satoshi. Even if they love such stories. Firstly, too many people have lost money on cryptocurrencies, and this is a painful topic for society. Therefore, many people won't even want to hear about it. As for all the other people, what's the point of going to a movie when they don't know anything about crypto at all and it seems like a complicated technology for criminals and geeks?
Judging by my many acquaintances, that's exactly how they perceive it. It's amazing that among them there are even very technically literate people who have never tried to understand crypto.

One thing that would make a Bitcoin movie really interesting is the human side of the early community, at first, it was not a big global movement,  it was just a group of researchers, developers and some curious people discussing the ideas on forums, where these people would meet and discuss developments as the software was created and tested. Once these people began using the software,  they began to realize that this experiment would work. All these interactions would show how a small community of people created something that became a whole movement. Showing the community how Bitcoin became a whole movement would help people understand how  something this small eventually became so influential.

Another interesting perspective would be the challenges and doubts that the early believers in Bitcoin faced. When Bitcoin appeared,  most in the world saw Bitcoin as a useless digital currency. It would be interesting to explore how the early faithful supporters endured and remained devoted to Bitcoin throughout all of the uncertainty.

The greatest mystery of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto,  is a topic that filmmakers could really play with creatively,  If the film were to leave the character partially mystery,  that alone will make the story even more intriguing and probably keep the viewers to discuss among themselves long after the film is over.

If you search on many Satoshi Nakamoto identity discussion you can see up there that no one points out accurately the real identity of Bitcoin.

So with that there's no accurate movie will be released, since no one actually could ever get the accurate details about Satoshi.
