Bitcoin The Movie?

They can make some movies about Bitcoin and Satoshi but they would mostly be based on fantasy since we don't know much about Bitcoin origins.
What we know was already used in several documentaries, and most of them are based on speculations and guessing.
That being said, I would not be against watching some big budget fantasy movie about Satoshi.

One interesting movie to watch is Silk Road from 2021.

Well, lack of facts and information never stopped anyone from making a (bad) movie.

Right.  They could always make him a Democrat going crazy and suddenly turning in to a fully enraged homophobic antisemitic Republican, eventually becoming Satoshi who supports Crime and creates Bitcoin.  There is always this possibility of making it a completely political thing.  It would not be the first time.

Hopefully however, we never get a Satoshi movie as the Bitcoin Talk Forum and the Whitepaper is enough to find out what he was trying to create and where his ideas partially came from.

That being said, I would not be against watching some big budget fantasy movie about Satoshi.

Be careful what you wish for, especially since we know how those big Hollywood studios work and what they would do with the story.

The chances of them painting him in a good light are imo slim to none.

And how would that work exactly? When we don't even know if Sathoshi is a team or one person.

But since you brought out Social Network, you might be interested that Ben Mezrich, who wrote the original book for the Social Network has written book about Winklevoss twins, called Bitcoin Billionaires and movie adaption of it is probably coming too. And even though i enjoyed the the book, i am not expecting much from it, as it's likely to be produced by someone without talent or vision.

It had some easy cinematic moments though, like destroying the printers used to print paper wallets and hammering of hard drives.

Satoshi is probably one person, I think but Bitcoin is not what it is today just because of one person. But you have a point when it comes to making a movie, they need to lay out exact facts rather than making a fictional movie.

I have watched The Social Network, it is a good movie but I don't know anything about the writer of the book. But if it is dramatic and not too educational, then I would watch the movie too haha.

Anyway, do we even know if Satoshi is a girl or a boy? How are they going to show him in a movie if they don't even confirm that 100%. I mean hall finney, nick szabo and few others have proposed he is a male. But what if?

If this were to be realized, I'm afraid there would be misperceptions about Satoshi. After all, we're still not sure who or what Satoshi is:

Female/male
One person or several people/institutions

That's why, if an actor were created, I'm afraid we'd assume Satoshi is the person he's portrayed to be. Unless the situation is truly created to be natural. Satoshi doesn't exist as a figure, but there are messages from Satoshi's soft files, such as communications on this forum, emails, or other sources. In essence, it's truly the same as Bitcoin and Satoshi's path from the beginning. It's not something that's been added too much to create an essence and perception that differs from the real thing.

Unlike most of those archeological findings or documentaries on events that did shape our world, there usually is an eye witness or documents that supports certain claims and points to certain narratives to not make a documentary be solely on fictions. Documentaries ought to come with a great degree of truth but in the case of Bitcoin, you can’t have that since Satoshi Nakamoto or someone on the team wouldn’t come out to make certain claims about Bitcoin.
Except you are okay with CW and I don’t HBO would want to waste good money on gigs from a clown.

I do not think there is enough pre Bitcoin detail about Satoshi to make a movie out of his creation.  About the actor, I honestly believe they would have to be masked and hooded the entire movie.  I would not want particular human features to be attributed to him, it would defeat the purpose.

Like seriously, it would really defeat the purpose. We don’t want a situation when a newbie is looking to search up something about bitcoin’s creator and the first image they see pop up is that of the actor that acted in the movie, the face will stay glued to their minds forever and have the perception that this is what he looks like. If the movie is even acted with a lot of known information about Satoshi that’s unknown to the public, he may be considered/the producer/movie story writer to have a close relation with him or even know him which may be detrimental to their safety, we never can tell actually.

What other thing is there to understand about bitcoin that you don't already know now and must watch a bitcoin movie to know? Is it how to create a bitcoin wallet? Or how to send and receive bitcoin, or perhaps, you want to learn how bitcoin and it's blockchain was coded line by line..

Well, I think that if ever there should be any video out there on bitcoin's creation, it's should be or come out as a documentary and not as a movie, because I believe that a movie on how bitcoin was created will not be interesting except the producers of the movie will have to act a lie, insert many unrelated scenes into the movie to make interesting, which I think will be really uncalled for, so best is a well detailed documentary and not a movie.

And if we search, maybe there is already a very good documentary on how bitcoin was created out there available for people to watch.

Knowing bitcoin is not under the control of even its own creator, not to talk of anyon else is what makes bitcoin a unique kind of invention, and with the way it came and gained acceptance and adoption within the first group of supporters, which eventually began growing until a community of supports was formed, and the growth didn't also stop there, but new people continued to joined as investors and supporting causing the value of bitcoin to rise significantly is why the government later found bitcoin hard to ignore even after several bans here and there..

I bet if Satoshi was to be known, by now, he would certainly be in prison and the government would have forced him to handover bitcoins code to them so that even if bitcoin continue to exist, it will be under their control, they can monitor wallets, keep track and control what comes in and what goes out, and also be able to freeze wallets too..

And like I said before, I see as impossible to make a bitcoin creation film that won't involve some made up stories just to make the movie fun and interesting to watch, in the end, what we see will not be the true facts on how bitcoin was created but some cooked sh*t.

From every movie about bitcoin, somehow it keeps talking about how bitcoin suddenly rise and also all about finding satoshi nakamoto. Some just mention it out of nowhere to make the movie cool and have that hacker vibe.
The only media you could find that talks about making of bitcoin probably a documentary.

Idk why but satoshi reminds me of that brad pitt scene in The Big Short movie.

As far as I know, no movie has been made about the social network type Bitcoin. Since Satoshi is still a mysterious name, no one knows his identity, which is why no one has discussed this issue and the possibility of making a movie in the future is very low. However, in my opinion, if such a movie is made, then it will definitely be great and we will be very interested in watching it, although no director plans to make such a movie. However, I think if such a movie is made, then I would choose Cillian Murphy as my favorite actor, his roles will be absolutely perfect.
