Strait of Hormuz now open?

Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, said on Telegram that the strait “is open to everyone, except American ships and those of its allies.”

US is demanding for their ships and that of Israel's or other allies to be passed through the strait but Iran is standing on their ground. This might anger US even further and since they have threatened to further cause destruction in Iran, we might not see this war end soon. If the strait was opened, this could offer some relief for other countries not really part of this war. But will it really be successful? Can they really pass through the strait with this chaos ongoing?

Even with this statement, it still feels that we are stuck doomed and keep expecting oil prices to keep rising.

The only problem is they keep doing the opposite of what they are announcing on their press statement like they will not attack ship that doesn’t passed the strait yet they start bombing trap oil ship.

True, and I also think the only ship that they can willingly allow to pass the strait of Harmouz are Russian, China and Indian ships because China and Russia are strong allies who provide strong logistics and military arm support for them.

It will be quite hard for others country to pass that's place especially those who trade with US dollar. Iran are not willingly to negotiate with any country as off now, and it might continue till God knows. Fuel prices has increased Massively in my country.

I also read that Iran is demanding payment for oil in yuan. Whether this news is true or not, I don't fully know, as many online media outlets have reported on it. This strait plays a crucial role in the global economy and if tensions continue and the strait is completely closed, the global oil supply will certainly be quite problematic, as I have seen our country feel the impact of this issue.

Most people are starting to panic, fearing that oil will become scarce and its price will rise, although so far in my country there has been no indication from the government that the price will be raised. We hope the war will end as it has a significant impact on economic growth. Energy sources are currently quite dependent on oil and a prolonged war could negatively impact economic growth.

Yes I think too because Oil companies that have their ships pass through that route will not want to take the risk of an explosion and losing their products as well as their ship, so for now considering that there's crisis along that route they may choose to play it safe and totally stop shipments through that route. Oil prices will not drop because of this news, in fact it is likely for us to see the price of one barrel of oil get to $200 if the crisis escalates further.

How long do you think this will last? Iran should look for other strategy to fight this war and allow the free flow oil vessels. I don't like their strategy of keeping the entire world hostage because of this war. But one thing am sure is that the US and other countries that are affected will not fold their arms for long and watch Iran continue to restrain movements within the Strait of Hormuz. They are suffering people unnecessarily. Both people that support the war and those that doesn't support are suffering. Closing the Strait of Hormuz is not helping them win the war either. Nobody is saying don't fight your war, but trying to hold the entire world to hostage is what I don't like.

The global impact of these Iran's closure of it's strait is affecting oil price globally making nations that have nothing to do with the war to suffer, fuel price in my country is skyrocketing. My country's shylock oil marketers are using this opportunity to further increase the sufferings of the ordinary Nigerians by hiking fuel price, Nigeria, is not supposed to be affected very much by these Iranian strait closure because we are an oil producing country but they will use every opportunity to enrich themselves more. If Iran, opens their strait with stringent conditions it means that the war is far from over.

The point to think about here is who are America's allies?
If you look closely, you will see that Iran is attacking various countries in the Middle East, meaning that Iran considers most of the countries in the Middle East as America's allies. And most of the trade from the Middle East is conducted through the Strait of Hormuz. If America's allies are excluded, then the Strait of Hormuz being open to Russia, China and North Korea means free oil exports from Russia, and I have also heard that they are opening the Strait of Hormuz on the condition that trade transactions be made in Chinese currency instead of dollars.

I understand the point your making, because in this kind of risky situation around the strait of Hormuz speaking and taking action don't mean same thing we all know that it clearly means different things, that's why so many trading and shipping companies are very careful this period. Even though it been announced that ships can pass safely, the fear or risk of attack or sea mines is still there that's why people don't just succumb to words alone. In this kind of situation there should always be caution and safety which is the first thing that should always come

Iran has also been held hostage for years because many countries have formed coalitions or succumbed to US threats. Iran only prohibits ships from countries it deems unfriendly. They have offered at least three alternative policies to allow these ships to pass, especially those that tend to side with the enemy.

Better to stay away or be on the safe side instead of taking risk and we never know if luck will permit and allow you to pass, like what you just mentioned, they announcing something but they do the other way, so why taking risk if you are not 100% sure that nothing will happen, a business that accompanied by danger and risk.

The war is still ongoing, though there are some news tha there are some ships who was able to pass and manage to get oil, but it's still a tough decision as you are gambling with your life and your business.
